    Dude, you're not supposed to be in there. And the vast majority of that EMERGENCY STAIRWELL is relatively clean. You can tell you were expecting it to be worse, which is why you kept going further and further into the stairwell you weren't supposed to be in. BTW, people sleep on metro trains all the time all over tge world. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them or that they are homeless.

    I guess you haven't lived in SoCal very long to not know Grand Central Market or Angel's Flight. Things have improved significantly on LA Metro over the last 10 months. They've added transit ambassadors, more security guards, and cleaning crews. It's made a huge difference as you, yourself, noticed. More and more people are using LA Metro because it's now a much better experience compared to the 3 years during Covid. Much less homeless people in DTLA, too, compared to 2022. There is a ton of stuff to see that is easily accessible via the LA Metro. Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Bunker Hill, Exposition Park, Historic Broadway, Central Public Library, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Universal Studios, etc.

    LA Metro is great, the only downside is that you have to wait some time I don't understand why it has a bed reputation, the system is very good and well designed, it's also really cheap to get around one of the largest cities in the world 1.75 dollars per 2 hours and 5 dollars maximum a day

  • @mrxman581
    @mrxman5812 ай бұрын

    Dude, where did you park? That's not just down the street. That's a very industrial area of DTLA. I would never park in that area. I don't know of anyone who does that. You should have just taken the E or A line into DTLA. It seems you were driving into DTLA from the Eastside of the city. Next time, drive to one of the park and ride stations. I usually use the Atlantic station on the E line. No need to drive all the way into DTLA. Parking is only $2 for the day. And, if you're closer to the SGV, I'm sure there are park and ride stations in that area, too.

    The LA Metro is much better today. It's been improving over the last year. They've hired more security guards, cleaning crews, and transit ambassadors. You need to purchase a TAP card that costs $2 and add money to it. Last year, LA Metro switched to a capped fare system. It will cost you a maximum of $5 a day or $18 per week. The cost is $1.75 for a one-way ride with a 2 hour window of free transfers. Once you spend $5 in a day or $18 in a week, all your additional rides are free whether you use the light rail lines, subway lines, or bus lines. It's all one system referred to as the LA Metro. It's a little different from cities like NYC, Paris, or London, where Metro means subway lines only. Have a good time in LA. Don't be afraid to explore, but also be smart and informed.

    The reason the people who run the station finally finally cracked down on the homeless was a massive bedbug flea and lice infestation. And those bugs jumped on the clothes of the employees and traveled home with the employees.So finally they put up those barriers around the seats. It’s a very functional necessity a hundreds of thousands of people use it every day. You can even get direct buses to airports in Bakersfield and Orange County there.

    Los Angeles needs to upzone the whole city. We're in a well-documented housing shortage yet we've arbitrarily made it illegal to build more homes on 75% of the city's land. That's insane. It's why we have high rent prices, the worst overcrowding in the country, and mass homelessness here.

    There's no security at all !!!! People can just walk on the trains without proof of fare and this is what happens. Back in the 90s we had LAPD, LA Sheriff deputies, ticket checkers and on the blue line ,LONG BEACH PD. Nothing like today. This is embarrassing and a disgrace.

  • @mrxman581
    @mrxman5814 ай бұрын

    Not true at all. You are a liar! In fact, in the 90s there weren't even turnstiles at any stations. It was on the honor system. Also, LA Metro originally had it's own in-house security force. It was only years later that they contracted out. BTW, LA Metro is currently patrolled by the Los Angeles Police Department, Long Beach Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. In addition, you have LA Metro security and ambassadors. LA Metro is using ALL OF THESE GROUPS RIGHT NOW!

  • @mrxman581
    @mrxman58111 ай бұрын

    This video has a complete negative bias. Its laughable. First, almost no one comes into Union Station from the side this dude did. Second, he went into the emergency exit areas which no one goes into except, I guess, homeless and this dude. Third, you do have more homeless on the trains because of Covid. LA Metro was not enforcing fares during Covid. That started changing in 2023. They have started a couple of new programs to deal with both safety and security issues as of May 2023. Fourth, if yoy pay attention, you see the actual stations and trains are relatively clean. LA Metro just opened three new stations in DTLA last month. And it continue to grow and improve. BTW, nany of the worst issues with the homeless have only happened since Covid in 2020 and LA is not alone in this issue. This video only shows the sad truth, but that's the minority of the complete truth.
