I love it! Gave it a try and it was easy... and it worked! Thank you very much for sharing your work!
You are welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!
First time I really understood these theories, they were so abstract to me but kudos to you Lindsay.
Yay! Thanks, I'm so glad this was helpful!

So easy! Thanks!

What about if there is audio on the layer for the text, it will play over each layer?
If you set other layers to hide, the audio won't keep playing. If you have audio on the base layer, set that to pause if you want the audio to pause too. It's all in the layer settings, basically!
you gave me migraine. Hope ill pass my exam on this ancient app.
So sorry. Hope you recover soon and pass that test 🙏
For people who are deaf, please correct punctuation and carry-over in the captions. Thanks.
Hi Jenn! Could you please give me an example of what you mean? I'm looking at the captions and see that the punctuation is correct - what do you mean by "carry-over"? Thank you. I know I always have more to learn.
Which gpt let's you download ppt? Also you could use designer in PowerPoint.
Also thank you for this
I haven't tried any of the gpts that help out with PowerPoints. There are a lot! The Canva one might be a good bet. I've tried Designer and I just really hate it. I'm not sure if Designer can be customized to brand colors, but generally I find it lacking anyways.
@@LindsayONeill also i use a smart board as my screen so designer seems to make the text really small to be useful. After making a ppt file with chatgpt it has the download link but keeps giving me an error for some reason? Do i need the paid chatgpt for this to work?
@@bobbyboyderecords I've had that error happen. Try again in a new chat. It seems sometimes a chat will corrupt and it will start throwing errors
This video is excellent, thanks for putting it up here.
One thing I get really confused with is how technical does your portfolio need to be to secure a job?
That's a really good question! The software skills you choose to show off on your portfolio depends on the kinds of jobs you are looking for. If you are looking for jobs that want Storyline/Rise, you should have projects that show intermediate to expert-skill level. If you are looking for jobs that want a variety of software experience, it's OK to be more basic-intermediate all around. I suggest looking for courses on the software you include in your portfolio and seeing what they teach in the basic and intermediate levels to give you some idea of what your projects should include. And when you put them into your portfolio, be sure to explicity tell the viewer what's special about them that they should know, like the technical skill you used.
Hi Lindsay,I am Harithas from Sri Lanka.Really informative.
I have a question for you. When you do this, do you end up signing away the rights to your voice? I mean when it comes to the program, do you automatically agree to giving that company the publishing rights to your voice? If I wanted to do voice work, whether it be voiceovers, or reading, am I completely obsolete?
That's a really good question! I looked up the Terms of Service for Speechify (speechify.com/studio-terms/) and here's the relevant passage: "To avoid any doubt, we claim no Intellectual Property Rights over the Files you Upload or the Content you Generate using our Services, including the recordings of your own voice, and we will not use the Files you Upload to independently generate any content." And further down: "Your Content is yours and you retain the Intellectual Property Rights that you have in Your Content. This includes both the Files you Upload to our Services and the Files you Generate using our Services. We need your permission if your Intellectual Property Rights restrict our use of Your Content." *I am not a lawyer,* but what you produce creatively as a person under US Copyright law is legally yours and only you have the right to copy it. So even if you use Speechify's service to "copy" your voice (the voice being the creative work), you still retain rights to your voice and what you copied. If you are a voiceover artist and your client clones your voice, I would imagine that would be violating your rights, unless you granted them the copyright in your contract. I would say that voiceover artists should directly address this topic in their contracts with clients to cover themselves. And you should always read the Terms of Service with AI tools to make sure they're not staking claim to your voice or content created.
Very simple approach - thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Love this series, so much good information. Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome!
AI is making some people extremely lazy, it is a fact. How that is going to affect future?,it is uncertain.
Hi Lindsay. Do you know whether Adobe has addressed closed captioning in MP4 videos that are not published to KZread?
Captivate 2019 has its own closed captioning system (huge pain, everything has to be entered by hand). You could use that for videos hosted with Captivate or embedded from places besides KZread. Paul Wilson has a good video on it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hZt22puynJSeqZM.htmlsi=mZAkQErDv0gkV963 Is that what you are looking for?
@@LindsayONeill Thanks for responding.yes, I know the KZread solution, but I’m thinking about publishing a passive video.
Thanks for this great video Lindsay! I'm running into an issue, when I put the Public URL for the index.html into my browser, it's just a blank page. Do you have any suggestions of what might be happening? Thank you for your time ✨
Did you already try opening in a different browser? or clearing your cookies? be sure that you uploaded an unzipped folder, too. If it's none of those things, you likely need to make your bucket public. There are so many settings sometimes it can be confusing, but I recommend making the entire bucket public so that your entire project will be public (can't just make the index.html public because it won't load the rest of the project). Let me know if that works
@@LindsayONeill Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately, it's still not working after those troubleshooting steps. I'll try to see if it's an issue with my file, and give an update in case it may be of help to others!
very well explained. Well-done
Hi! Thanks for the video! I have one drag and drop interaction on a slide and this one has a single image to drag to the target. I want it to auto-submit, so I have that selected, but when previewing it submits just by clicking it, not even giving the learner a chance to drag. Thoughts or insight on this? Thanks!
Hi Kayla, first make sure there are no other actions associated with the object. Select the object, then check its actions in the property pane. Next make sure that the object is associated with a drag target that is elsewhere on the slide. If it's already on top of its own drag target, then it's going to submit as soon as the user clicks. Finally, if nothing seems to fix it, try duplicating the slide (copy paste the whole slide as a new slide). Sometimes Captivate will glitch but duplicating the slide will sort those glitches out and things will start working.
thanks for bringing this to our attention. very useful
Congrats on your license! My team at Enterprise Technology will be collecting summaries once the semester is over. Can’t wait to hear about your results! Thanks for this video.
Hi Lindsay, may I embed your video in a slides presentation for ACRL DOLS? I'd like to include it as a resource for librarians considering LibWizard.
Absolutely!!! I have a companion blog post too if it's helpful at all: lindsayoconsulting.com/this-ones-for-the-librarians-springshare-libwizard-reviewed/
Thank you!
Thank you for this video Linsay. I found it very clear, and informative.
How to publish Cp. 11 to MS Teams?
How to publish Cp. 11 to MS Teams?
This video is very clear, informative, and helpful. Thank you!
1- Can Version 12 create VR scenarios using panoramic 360 webpage for online field trips? Or is it better to go to 2019 Version? 2- Is it possible to have 2versions of Captivate on the same PC;e. 9 & 19? How?
Sounds like the newest version of Captivate does not have virtual reality. It sounds like you can have both Captivate 2019 and the newest version of Captivate on the same computer, you'd just have to download and install both. Reddit has an old conversation about this that might be useful: www.reddit.com/r/Captivate/comments/14nl7ak/new_captivate_overview/
Thanks so much. Did you have a suggestion on what Google Cloud storage plan is typically needed to do files hosting like this for anyone who hasn't subscribed before?
My current plan is the 15GB plan. I'm only charged for usage, and it comes to about 6 cents per month for me.
Thank you for this video. I would like to know if the answers of my students will be recorded and stored in the Google Cloud bucket. Is it possible ? Thank you.
Unfortunately, no. In order to record and store your students' answers, you must package your Storyline course as SCORM and pop it into an LMS (learning management system). Here's a video where I demo how to publish a SCORM package and put it into Canvas LMS: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g5WMlaygdc6qpZs.html
