I have a question for you. When you do this, do you end up signing away the rights to your voice? I mean when it comes to the program, do you automatically agree to giving that company the publishing rights to your voice? If I wanted to do voice work, whether it be voiceovers, or reading, am I completely obsolete?

That's a really good question! I looked up the Terms of Service for Speechify (speechify.com/studio-terms/) and here's the relevant passage: "To avoid any doubt, we claim no Intellectual Property Rights over the Files you Upload or the Content you Generate using our Services, including the recordings of your own voice, and we will not use the Files you Upload to independently generate any content." And further down: "Your Content is yours and you retain the Intellectual Property Rights that you have in Your Content. This includes both the Files you Upload to our Services and the Files you Generate using our Services. We need your permission if your Intellectual Property Rights restrict our use of Your Content." *I am not a lawyer,* but what you produce creatively as a person under US Copyright law is legally yours and only you have the right to copy it. So even if you use Speechify's service to "copy" your voice (the voice being the creative work), you still retain rights to your voice and what you copied. If you are a voiceover artist and your client clones your voice, I would imagine that would be violating your rights, unless you granted them the copyright in your contract. I would say that voiceover artists should directly address this topic in their contracts with clients to cover themselves. And you should always read the Terms of Service with AI tools to make sure they're not staking claim to your voice or content created.
