How is it working now a few years later?
It has been flawless, I run white vinegar through about ever other month to keep down the water scale. It has heavy usage which is actually really good for them because it prevents anything from drying up in there.
Wow. Fantastic set up.
They are 45 degrees not 90degrees
I have this model. Toilet ia starting to make flushing noises constantly. What can i do to fix?
Do you still need a permit
review after 6 years?
It has been 100%, I run white vinegar through it every other month to descale it. Super easy, I just pour about 3/4 gallon down my sink drain then run the sink for a second to clear the trap so it does not smell like vinegar then I walk away. Usage is very good for the systems as well, ours is used daily.
@@TheSanifloStore thx so much
Hi thanks for your video very helpful, I just replaced capacitor and put all back in, now pump won't stop in any case, membrane is ok, it just stop only if I push air in from the plug hole, any ideas on what could be wrong ?
Can a flexible Semi-Rigid PVC Discharge line be used ?
Hi - great video, started following steps, but then when I got to capacitor, it appears to be wired directly to motor, i.e. the wires run thru the little conduit between the pump housing and the electrical component housing/pressure chamber and there is no extra wire to allow pulling out the capacitor. This leads me to believe i need to get the pump housing open? I believe the impeller needs to come off the bottom to do this. This is a15 yr old Sanibest. Any suggestions?
all that and you didn't even show a flush
Look for our finished project video on our page. I flush it at the end of that.
Thank you so much. I repaired it with confidence cause of your video. Easy peasy.
My unit won’t stay on, I’ve replaced the clip and the gasket. What’s next? Should replace the switch and capacitor?
Any sound at all from the unit?
Thank you for the explanation
Hi, great video! Quick question, I have one of these and the bathroom lights flicker anytime I flush. Any idea what it could be?
In short: I have been a nautical professional for 20 years. I have installed 4 SFA Sanimarine Maxlite+ WCs on 3 boats purchased from Dahlberg (Spain distributor). One of them has failed and pressurized water has entered the electric motor after 1 year of use. The logical thing for any professional, is to dismantle to see what problem there is in the installation he has carried out. And here the problems begin... According to what they have told you from this company, SFA Sanimarine, since I have manipulated the toilet, does not cover the warranty. They tell me that I should have sent it to the SAT! (technical support) This history is much longer, with many emails and time wasted on the phone with a technical support with no intention of helping. I don't usually do these actions, but the helplessness in the face of empty responses without any empathy makes me use this option, which although it doesn't give me anything, hopefully reaches the ears of someone with more common sense. My recommendation: DO NOT BUY SFA SANIMARINE MAXLITE+ BECAUSE THE SEALS THEY ASSEMBLE HAVE A STEEL SPRING (NOT STAINLESS STEEL) AND THEY FAIL AFTER A LITTLE YEAR WITH SEAWATER ENTERING THE ELECTRIC MOTOR!!! THEY ARE NOT WELL DESIGNED!!! Ma recommandation : NE PAS ACHETER SFA SANIMARINE MAXLITE+ CAR LES JOINTS QU'ILS ASSEMBLENT ONT UN RESSORT EN ACIER (PAS EN ACIER INOXYDABLE) ET ILS ÉTABLISSENT APRÈS UNE PEU D'ANNÉE AVEC DE L'EAU DE MER ENTRANT DANS LE MOTEUR ÉLECTRIQUE !!! ILS NE SONT PAS BIEN CONÇUS !!!
Very useful video. We attempted to repair our non-running Saniflo (1st gen) by replacing just the membrane. It worked for about 3 days, and stopped. I should have viewed this video before, as I did not install the clip properly (I placed it in the groove, while it should have been installed over the ridge). As well, I removed the switch unit this time. Surprise, surprise, oil in the bottom. I noticed the capacitor is somewhat cracked, so I assume the capacitor oil has leaked out. We will order a new capacitor and a new micro switch..... and this time install the membrane and clip properly. BTW, anybody else witness a cracked capacitor / oil leak on their unit?
Has anyone installed 2 systems and connected into one waste line going into the main 3 inch line?
You would not want to share a discharge line, they both can tap the same 3" but you would want an independent 1" discharge pipe from each system to the 3" line.
@@TheSanifloStore so run both toilets in one inch into the three inch sewer line separately?
Yes, you would have a 1" line for each macerator that runs to the 3" @@danlewis4886
@@TheSanifloStore into two separate Tee Ys?
Yes.@@danlewis4886
We have a 14-year-old saniplus. It has a weak flush. It takes the water from the shower and the bathroom sink just fine but it takes about six or seven flushes to get waste away. We rebuilt the capacitor and membrane switch about seven years ago. Any troubleshooting ideas? thank you for the excellent video.
Hello, My saniplus is not working. Doesn't seem to want to turn on. The size of it feel warm and it sounds empty.. I had water back up into my shower. Is this being caused by the membrane not turning working? Thought of open up this 20-year-old Saniflo is creeping me out.The cost of having a plumber come is not comfy..
good morning I recently replaced membrane everything worked fine. now only way pump will turn on is if I flush toilet. running water from sink / shower just backs up in shower drain. when i flush toilet and pump turns on water recedes in shower. seems like water from shower inlet not enough force to kick on switch ?
Engineer here, for rubber gaskets remember to use a lubricant the clearly says its safe for rubber, like a silicone lube or plumbers paste. Otherwise something like regular wd40 or regular oils may deteriorate the rubber over time and cause it to leak or break.

3:52 what happens if you don't vent it or use a one way vent like studor or oatey vent?
I'm not familiar with the anti siphon valve or how to install that since it will be dropping over 9'?...
I have Danilo shower can I instal a floor level shower is it possible to instal a floor level shower and woul I need an additional pump to pump shower water tosaniflo unit as the unit would be slightly higher than shower drain many thanks.
You need gravity from the shower down to the pump. The Min elevation difference needs to be 5". You can either elevate the shower or drop the pump into the flooring surface but either way you need that 5" differential.
Can you hook up any shower stall ?
Yes, it just needs to be elevated to allow space for the Ptrap and to achieve gravity for proper drainage.
Question - how to you connect the clip on the new membrane when you replace it? I can't seem to get the new clip on - it's about a half an inch short of connecting. Is there a special technique to get the tab in? I've tried pliers to close the gap, but there isn't much to grab on to. Any advice is appreciated.
I usually lubricate it with a handsoap so the clip slides easier get them as close as you can then use pliars perpendicular to the clip
Where can I buy the two gaskets you took off at 2:53 of your video? Mine are both cracked and need replacing, but I don't see them at your store.
Give us a call, we will have them in stock. 866-658-0505
My unit is humming, but the motor is not coming on. I've got it apart - the impellor blades are turning OK. I'm guessing it might be the capacitor? What do you think?
If you get it to the point where it's humming try to tap the blade with a screwdriver and see if it takes off if it does start up then it is likely the capacitor. Just be careful of your fingers
I'm in the UK but you had a great video so I thought I'd ask a question - I had a Sanipack pro installed for a few years and it started to run every 90 seconds for 3 seconds so we switched it off and haven't used it for a few years. I took it apart to check the membrane and get the microswitch code, I've reassembled everything but when the microswitch is activated now it trips the mains power in the house. There's been no water in the unit since it was removed and cleaned. I've taken it apart again and the pressure chamber but I cannot see any faults in the wiring at all. Do you have any solutions to what maybe the problem?
Typically tripping the breaker points to water in the motor or the pressure chamber. Have you tried it on a different outlet just to rule out a bad breaker? You may want to talk with tech support in the UK, www.saniflo.co.uk/
Hey Mark, I have a saniflo Saniaccess 3. When I plug it in, it trips the GFCI after a few seconds (without turning the pump on). Any idea what a typical cause would be for that? Thanks!
Try it on a different plug to be sure the gfi is ok. If it still trips the breaker then it is likely water in the pressure chamber, water in the motor itself or something jammed in the blade or impeller.
@@TheSanifloStore thanks, I'll check those out! Can I buy a replacement pressure switch or motor through your shop?
@@HoboWhisperer yes we have them.
What kind of vent should be used for the free air flow, can you give a recommendation?
Studor vents and AAv's can not be used. The vent from our unit should either be connected to the vent system in the home or vented to outside air.
I have a saniflo access 3 and need to fix. Do you know a place in the zip code 10710
did the tank wobble when connecting it to the bowl? i have the wing nuts on as tight as i can by hand. please advise, thanks
No it should not wobble alternate sides and use a pair of pliers bring the tank down so just about touches the bowl will feel like it's going to break but it won't.
How long dose is last?
With a proper installation typical life spans reach 10-12 years, I have even seem some as high as twenty. Descale the unit with our descale or white vinegar once a quarter or so and don't be afraid to use it.... Usage is a good thing.
Great video, concise and to the point .Only downside you don't have store In Scotland .Keep up with the good informative videos👋👍
Stupid pieces of shit. They have no instructions with the manual for this shit. What a joke.
Do we need a p trap for shower when using saniflo
Yes you will.
How do we use the descaler with this model? What are the steps? Thank you
1. Unplug the unit. 2. Pour about a half gallon of descaler or white vinegar into the bowl. 3. run the sink for a few seconds until you see the water rise in the bowl, fill the bowl about half way. 4. Let system sit for about 2 hours, this allows the descaler / vinegar to break down the water scale/sludge inside the motor. 5. Plug the power cord back into the GFI outlet. It will sense the water pressure and activate the pump to flush out the system. Let me know if I can help with anything.... Mark
i would swap the ball valve for a backflow valve
There is a check valve on the unit, a second one should not be used as it can harm the pump.
I am currently building a similar shower set up and i need to build a step, Please explain in detail how you built the step if you can.
It is a teak step, it was cut to the shape, sanded then oiled. The face of it is flexible azek trim board, in retrospect I would have done it without the bend but I thought I would need the space. It functions great because it gives good traction but a full step ultimately would be safer.
I want to design for wheelchair access, including grab bars. No step into shower. Is elevating the entire bathroom while allowing the grinder unit to remain at floor level a solution. How high from the floor to shower floor is required?
Do I have to drill a new hole in my tank?
Yes, the spot is marked on the top, super easy.
Thank you Mark for the great video and help over the phone today to test the capacitor. You could have sold me a $900 unit vs the capacitor. You have integrity. I will definitely buy my stuff from you in the future.
Joe, of course.... let me know if I can help with anything.
Does Saniflo have a product for installing a toilet on a concrete slab on a first floor without cutting into the concrete?
My pump was always running so i called saniflow and they suggested add some white vingar. So i added a half gallon of white vingar and half gallon of hot water to the pump chamber. Poured it throught the vent tube After i let it sit 5 hrs i plugged it in and kept on flushing it than the pump shut off. Its working like new now. I was told to do that every 6months.
Thanks for the video bro...question my blads not spinning but making a buzz noise
Most likely the capacitor. When the unit is buzzing try tapping the blade with a screwdriver, it should start up when you tap it. If so, likely the capacitor.
Repeating a question already asked; Why is the trap weir so low? any chance this will be rectified by raising the trap weir in future models? Thanks
So if no drilling is involved how is the pipe connected?
Can you discharge into a 2” drain pipe? It would be easier for me to run it there instead of the main sewer stack
Excellent!!! It’s so nice to see someone who is a true professional in there field and take pride in there work, showing use exactly what we needed to see and know.
