10:23 honestly i think this is where the feature shines the most. the tornado in crisis city has always felt more as an asset rather than something that can actually kill you and with sonic running from a literal fire tornado it makes crisis city feel more dangerous.
I reeeeeally wish I could bring myself to play this game... But every time I watch footage of it, I'm intensely disappointed and immediately bored with what I'm seeing.
in terms of the length, since it's mentioned it'll be shorter than generations, i am expecting maybe around 6 levels, i feel like they are gonna focus more on quality rather than quantity, and i am totally fine with that, i think it's time that as gamers we start getting used to the idea of more bite sized side adventures in between the major releases, those side adventures maybe even being used as ways to test new ideas before deciding if they want to implement them in the major releases.

Something I recently saw that I think is cool is Classic Sonic’s model has been edited to give a cleaner 3-spine profile shot. The middle quill has been moved down to the bottom row and the two bottom quills have reduced in size so that they seamlessly blend into the bigger one. It’s personally my new favorite interpretation of the quill layout, especially for the shorter quills
I like it when older stages come back, especially when it works with the story. Like in Shadow '05, Prison Island returns after SA2 and you can see how awful the place is after Eggman blew it up, it's really cool

I would really love to remain optimistic and hopeful about this, but Sega has ruined too many games for me to be able to trust them without seeing some hard evidence

Can we not publicly announce our pre-orders? It's Sega, why do you have to keep having to relearn that its likely to be crazy broken on release. You better make a "I regret buying this broken game at launch" this is literally going to be a Colors situation even if it's not a huge engine change.
We pretty much know its gonna be polished on release. Unlike Colours ultimate, its being developed by Sonic Team themselves, and the game has reportedly been finished for a good few months now. Any changes from now till release are just gonna be minor touch ups based on demo feedback

One Sega franchise’s music I’d be really interested in you looking at is Like a Dragon/Yakuza. Some Sonic composers recently worked on Like a Dragon Gaiden, and that got me thinking that it might be interesting to see this sort of analysis for music of a different franchise. Alternatively, there’s always Mega Man.
I'm thinking that Shadow Gens will show us what happened after Sonic Gens, and with that comes the possibility that maybe Classic and Modern didn't kill off Time Eater, but then Shadow is the one to finish him off. That'd be cool ngl.
I think with you being able to press either X/Square or A/X for homing attack it would be really cool if depending on which one you pressed you did either the slow one or the fast more chain like one. That way you can mash when confident and burst through a chain but can slow down if needed to reduce the chances of missing or falling. Probably not in here, but would be a neat addition for the next title if the control scheme stays the same.
A good middleground with delisting would be to include original Generations with this new one, that way, those that still want to play mods can do so, downside is OG Gens would no longer be purchasable and a tad more expensive for newcomers, but I'd prefer this over removing it entirely because we'd lose DECADES of mods.

There's never a reason to preorder, no matter how good the game might/will be.
Apparently, there's gonna be quite a few additions to Sonic Generations according to the recent interviews, saying there are gonna be new areas and pathways in the game, adding new secrets to the game. Also, yeah, all the levels so far have been tied to Shadow's big moments, with the Ark being his birth and "death" place, Rail Canyon being during where he lost his memory and where he started questioning if he's even real due to finding an android of himself, Westopolis being where his journey of finding his identity began, and Kingdom Valley being where Mephiles was unleashed, who challenged Shadow's ideals and if Humanity is worth protecting.
Mods will fix any potential problems. :]

I think Iizuka has stated each Shadow zone will have one 3D and one 2D act. So the 3D levels should be fully 3D (hopefully)
one thing i’m not happy about, is shadows boost. i HATE that he just flys when he is boosting. really wish he just skated, kinda like the ending of 06. boosting, knocks enemies away but is skating. keep the flying to the super forms PLEASE
