Surprised they didn’t make you cook every recipe 5 times until you stopped burning it to make it more like the game.😂

I think one of the cooler things about this cookbook is that some characters you wouldn't expect them to include, like Tangle, Whisper, and Marine, get a few recipes in it!

I'm personally excited to try the curry, since I do love my curry. Granted I'm not familiar with Jamaican curry which it calls for, so I'm excited to try!

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles and madness in this world today, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction). He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way. Christ says in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] - (AMPLIFIED version) NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus. If you have any questions let me know

I got this cookbook as a gift and the visuals and theming are excellent, but I did find selecting recipes to try a very daunting task! It's true that many ingredients in this book can be hard to get or very expensive. As well, many recipes might not satisfy picky eaters and will be difficult to modify. I didn't find many of them to sound appetizing upon first read (this has to due with my aversion to specific vegetables from how they were poorly cooked when I ate them growing up), but this video has certainly made me want to step further out of my comfort zone to try them!

Powder jello doesnt really ever expire and is cheap. And was a status symbol in 1950s America. It makes sense that the vaults would be overstocked with that stuff

I'm really glad they didn't dumb this down. There are so many easy recipes out there, sometimes you want something more complex. And it's in the spirit of the game, as it's all about slow living. That's why JoJa Mart sells so much instant junk, to really highlight that contrast.

it feels like they sort of missed the mark on aiming for any lore accuracy and instead just went with basic diner food with some twist varieties. considering they have a sodaroni slushie as a thing i’m assuming this was written and released after not only security breach, but help wanted 2 and fnaf ruin. help wanted 2 ESPECIALLY shows a ton of food options they could’ve played on given there’s multiple mini-games of you working in concession stands/food vending places with options like “chica chowder” and “pizzaritos”, and El Chip’s exists in the security breach pizzaplex. i’m not too surprised by lackluster pizza, given fnaf is sort of like a chuck-e-cheese ripoff and arcade pizza has always been on the low end of quality but enjoyable mostly for children or for nostalgia reasons. and in general, ive never found a home pizza recipe that was anywhere close to as good as getting pizza somewhere that has an actual pizza oven. doesn’t seem like a BAD cookbook, but feels more like they just had someone take a glance at the source media and characters and come up with some really simple home cooking recipes.

Personally I think your first reaction is correct. Stardew is supposed to be very comfy, rustic. Lobster and Black Garlic is way too bougie.

Your videos are such a joy to watch! So laid back and relaxing, while also providing great solid feedback about the cookbooks you're reviewing. I've loved cooking, cookbooks, and cooking magazines since I was a kid, and it's always disappointing to find a media tie-in cookbook that hasn't put any thought or effort into its theming and recipes. I really appreciate how thoroughly you talk about all the elements of each book from presence or lack of pictures, to clarity of the cooking instructions, to how good the recipes actually taste, to how well the cookbook actually does the job of being a themed cookbook. I've never played SDV myself, but it sure sounds like a lot of care was put into making this cookbook a real love letter to the fans!

I love how squid ink is such an obstacle for many people. Here in spain we use it all the time (actually black rice with squid is a very common, and delicious, dish). Cheers!

I feel as if Immersion should be it's own categories. Skyrim's cookbook has pages for each of their seasonal meals and spices that are native to their lands, which can make a book many times better, just cause of that extra immersion
