I think you’ll like Irvine. Lots of techies and professionals. Many people have some kind of advanced degree. Lots of nature trails and parks. Close to mountains and beaches. Excellent Asian food. Yes it may be a little boring but if ur looking to party just drive over to other parts of OC or LA.

I get what he’s saying. I’ve lived in vegas my whole life and it does draw in a lot of trashy people. Drunks, drug addicts, gamblers, strippers, hookers and just in general low morals. Now of course this isn’t everyone in vegas but it does have a lot of these type of people.

If you have money you can really save many lives or raise sanity level in society. There are so many underfunded problems in the world. Research that can make world much better place or effective altruism. Many kids in developing world don't have access to basic hygiene and books, vitamines essential for cognititice development. Which is extra cheap.

Some people own nothing, some people own tons of stuff buildings, land. So wealth is and poverty are real. Theres programs like snap and welfare so that people dont starve. Most people just work the minimum to survive and just accept that they will never get ahead.

Back in highschool, when I was asked what I wanted to do in the future, I said I just wanted a job that pays well and to live a simple life. I said I didn't want to be a billionaire. Maybe I wasn't ambitious enough, but what I meant to say was that I wanted to have just enough to enjoy life, to have the time for things and people that matter to me without having to worry about bills and expenses. I don't need extra stress.

I'm leaving Austin and probably moving to North Carolina (Raleigh). Looks beautiful, low property taxes, all four seasons, nice weather, good water quality, cost of living

here i dont fully agree. If I save I can take out a early retirement and therefore live more and not just work til I die. Plus saying you shall not try to save on the "small" things because you can always earn big money, is a pretty bad advice. For most people it is the small expenses you shall look at, and most have no control over their economy just because they dont care about the small expenses. Earning big is not so easy and often very risky. Owning nothing, saving nothing, all that will do is making you a slave to the system, always have to work to maintain your lifestyle. I would sacrifice that dinner at the beach for not have to work.
