You want about as little metal as possible huh? This is a question ive wanted to ask alot, and i just noticed on one of your videos, you take out 2x as much when your buring out the centers invetween the seettings. Thank you

I see you set the stones in the middle with 2 prongs. Why don't you set them with sharing prongs (each stone with 4 prongs). If I'm wrong, Sorry hard to see exactly what you did.

Carbide is the advantage if you can afford them and even find them.

I prefer steel. I'm from South Africa. I never get stones the same size. My problem with carbide is, when they chip, its hard to get that chip out if it gets stuck in the ring. Must say, I haven't used carbide alot so maybe I'm just putting to much pressure on the bit.

Yea, when on a budget just go for a harbor frieght bench grinder with flex shaft. 50$ but it actually gets the job done fairly well. But id kill for your set up good sir

hi, i'm french, your videos are great, thank you. i wanted to have your opinion, in france we are taught to do 6 grain, the turned grain, we still work by hand without engraving max, do you think the max engraver is necessary? i find that by hand it is longer and tiring. could you make a video showing how you do 6 grains with the max engraver? thank you 🙏👍😉

I sometimes use a slightly convex shape round tool to raise metal up if I’m setting in a flat area without a proper bezel. Then come over with a flat faced tool.
