Hello to you! I'm Jay Taylor (commonly abbreviated to JT) and I'd like to welcome you to my channel.
I am a musician and multi-instrumentalist. That's right, I'm another internet musician, and you will find metal covers, acoustic covers and my own original music on this channel. I produce the music myself out of my home studio (JTStudios) and film, direct and edit the music videos for all of you.
I implore you to have a look around as I like to think there is something for everyone on this channel, and please do consider subscribing.
I'd like to end on simply thanking you for reading this little blurb and for coming by the channel. I hope you'll join me in becoming a part of this channel (the biggest part in all honesty) and I'll see you in my next video!

Fire 🚒🔥🥵👑🌝😽 I Love ItZ! Good Job Brother!
I have the 4 string version. MB4 , sunburst. I absolutely love it and have had no issues. Ive owned Stingrays and OLPs in my many years. Although the HB just feels cheap because it is. . . I find it a very inspiring bass to jam on. Its lightweight and very easy to mod. Although the specs are nowhere near the same as its more expensive counterparts, so that can be problematic . Yet no big deal having to drill new holes into it. Cause its so friggin cheap 😂. Maybe i got lucky with my purchase. Ive owned around 5 HB guitars / Basses but none have impressed me as much as my MB4. I think im done with HB. Cool video though.
Had I seen this review there is NO WAY I would have bought this trash......
OK, this would be funny if it weren’t true. I just received the same bass today and have the same issues and more! In my case, it’s the D string cog that is smashed. It turns but with difficulty what the hell is going on at quality control how can they miss this? How does this happen? Also, with mine the first volume control closest to the neck does not work at all nothing I tried tapping it. Nothing illicits anything from that pot. I also noticed this bass is noisy as hell to the point of it turning heads at practice this is not normal. The playability is not bad at all and the sound if you can get past the noise is fairly decent, but with all the quality control issues. I am boxing this sucker up and sending it back just out of principle, I could fix all the issues but I didn’t purchase a broken base to be fixed. I don’t care how inexpensive it is as to whether or not I buy something from Harley Benton again it’s not likely. This is too big of a miss.
You don't own or have a friend that owns a drill?
I think This budget mic k6 capable to beat costly mics , I think sound was clear and soft 😊
0n fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🥰🥰🥰

I drilled the B string hole to make it fit
That’s a smart move. I’d probably break it if I tried that 😂
Your inspiring words at the final of the song lift my spirits up as well as your works. God bless your enjoyable timing dedicated to entertain us!
Thank you, Dexter! I really appreciate the kind words my friend! Have a great day! 🤘🏻
This was amazing bro. Nice work. Love it. Fuck haters.
thanks, I would therefore not buy this bass which basically is not worth more than the displayed price. Merci.
I'm glad the video helped you. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I cried while my teacher played this song, as this was played at my friend's send off, he was know as Agent, he was our rock (the one who keeps us together) in the friend group, so we honored him with a nerf gun 21 gun salute and one of my friends (Serge) played taps, after which I played this on my phone while we were all at attention at salute, fly high Agent fly high
I’m searching for the best metal torn cover. I just want Alex terrible to sing it
BRILLIANT 🎉
Thank you! 🤘🏻
lol insulting a random worker ... if you can do a better job just go buy your gear in person and inspect it yourself
such a crybaby lol fixable issues... what did you expect?
Thanks for this, Jay! 4 days ago I saw that Joey would be 49 years old if he were still here. I looked for a "Wait and Bleed" acoustic just to play this song for Joey in some way. I listened to it at least 5 times before reading that it was dedicated to him and when I realized it my eyes filled with tears. What a beautiful soul Joey had. I hope that Eloy (Slipknot's new drummer) brings his soul to the band just like Joey did because that's what he left for us to never forget #1. RIP Joey ♡
I’m pleased that you like this rendition my friend. I hope things with the new drummer work out, too. Have a great day and thank you so much for the great comment.
nice
Doggo was jealous, he noticed how you complemented your new black girl on her looks. That first song you played is from Dark Sun - Arena OST, right? P.S. I just ordered this exact guitar, no lie.
I love it, keep it up brother
Thank you my friend. I appreciate it. 🤘🏻
Really nice cover🍻
Thank you! 🙏🏻

I think I can wholeheartedly say that was best cover of the song I've ever heard. When the tune was young it always wanted to become an epic metal song.
Jay can you do a metal cover of (killing in the name of by the machine )
This is a great suggestion and entirely a possibility my friend! 😉🤘🏻
🔥🔥🤘🏻🎸🎸🎧
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thomann has an excellent customer service policy. Did you contact them re the issues? They would have replaced the guitar or sent replacement parts.
Oh, absolutely. I couldn’t actually fault their customer service. They were quick to ship me out a replacement for this one. 🙂
bro this is amazing
Thank you, bro. 🤘🏻
You put XLs on a bass designed for standard strings... DERP on you, not HB for that.
The D’addario XLs that I use are the exact same gauge string that the guitar ships with - it makes no difference. This guitar was replaced, like for like, by HB and I’ve had zero issues since. It was just a bad build. Simple as that. 🙂
@@JTStudios Hello! Did you have any problems replacing the strings on the bass that was replaced?
This is pretty f ing good. Somebody with some pull needs to take a look at what you got going on. But sadly I don't know those people.
Thank you, man. I appreciate the kind words. If it’s meant to be, it’ll happen - either way, I’m happy making music for people to enjoy. 🤘🏻
God, this is genious
Thank you, dude! 🙏🏻
Bloke's got a good voice.
Thanks, Shannon! I appreciate the comment.
What do u expect you probably paid 160 bucks lol. Out of all the ones they ship out I'm sure there is a % that are not good. Also I wouldn't trust the " quality control". You can drill a bigger hole that's no big deal but the tuners I can understand but maybe it stripped out when you were turning it and it didn't do that at the shop but yeah the tuners on these cheap guitars suck and the bridges suck. That's how they are able to give such cheap prices but the key is to invest just a tad more after you get them and put a couple better parts on it and for still much much cheaper price you will have a pretty damn good instrument. I'm sure this is nothing you don't already get so I'm really typing this for nothing but hey the comment helps your algorithm! Cheers
Spent less than that! 😂 I get what you’re saying though, and of course, I appreciate the comment my friend! This was one of those times where I kept hearing about Harley Benton guitars, bought one, regretted it. 😂 you definitely get what you pay for. Thanks, Mavrick! 🤘🏻
I wanted metal cover. And I GOT MORE THAN I WANTED!
Thank you, Franz! 🤘🏻
Mine looks great, feels great, sounds horrible! Unplayable. Still has the tag hanging from one of the tuners. I can't bring myself to plug it in again. I don't know what to do with it.
Oh… that’s not good then. Could you modify it? Try to make it better, or is it not worth the effort?
@JTStudios It's not worth the effort. I have a massive collection of ridiculously priced basses. I just wanted to see how this thing played. I got the active HH version too. That one had sharp fret edges and a very uncomfortable neck but it sounds decent unless I use the selector to split any of the pickups. Very loud buzzing.
Ppl don’t really realize how metal stapps lyrics are, and how heavy Tremonti Riffs are. They automatically assume their rock ballads when ppl think of creed. Like one last breath, with arms wide open and my sacrifice.
Yes, completely agree. Mark wrote some heavy stuff during his time in Creed and Stapp, as you said, did lay down some aggressive lyrics that certainly fall more into that metal category - this being one of those tracks. This was a pleasure to do. Thanks for checking it out, dude. Really appreciate the comment, too. 🤘🏻
@@JTStudios stapp definitely did. Very deep lyrics with a religious, spiritual twist. It was a bad ass cover. You had me head banging like no other lol. Idk if you did any more covers? I’ll definitely check on ya channel for more if so.
Absolutely. Great band altogether! Yes, lots of others covers here on the channel. Feel free to look around and give them listen when you have a free moment. I appreciate the support my friend. Thank you! 🤘🏻
Nice one man !! hearing this for the first time !
Thank you, dude. Really appreciate the kind words. Stoked that you like it. 🤘🏻
Yeah, the f*cked tuner thing sucks. That shouldn't have passed QC. They would send you a replacement, refund some of your purchase price or let you return it. You're right, though, with inexpensive instruments they have to save costs somewhere. It's unfortunate when cheap parts or lax QC ends up negatively affecting your experience. The bridge hole thing is lame as well... but could be easily addressed with a file, a reamer or a drill, so IMHO not on the same level as the tuner. I can only speak to my own personal experience, so your mileage may vary, but I've bought like 72 Harley Benton instruments over the span of 3 years... and about 25%-35% of those have been B-stocks. That averages 24 per year (6-8 of those being B-stocks), spread out over time, usually buying 2-4 instruments per order to minimize shipping costs. The spread over time is important because it demonstrates consistency over the span of 3 years. The instruments I've bought have varied across the entire spectrum of the Harley Benton brand models of electric guitars & basses: entry-level to the highest end models, of every category they offer, copies of Strats, Jazz basses, 4 & 5 string basses, Les Pauls, MusicMan bass copies like yours, metal-oriented guitars, 6 & 7 string guitars, fan-fret guitars, semi-hollows, etc. of every construction type: set necks, bolt-on necks, neck thru, manufactured in facilities in China, Vietnam & Indonesia. Within this sampling I have not experienced anything on the level of your jacked up tuning peg. The worst I've had was a quality control issue in the wiring of an active bass. I took care of it myself, no problem, but it could have been a show-stopper for someone else depending on their knowledge & experience. Obviously, your mileage may vary. I think Harley Bentons represent a great value proposition if you have calibrated your expectations and are pragmatic about it. The model of bass you have and similar models cost like ~$100 plus shipping. You couldn't buy a kit worth a damn, or body and neck alone for that. Entry level models, especially ones which conform to industry standards like the P-Bass, Jazz Bass and MM-Bass models as well as their guitar counterparts like the Strat & Jaguar type models are good mod platforms. The bodies and necks are solid. Consider the hardware and electronics as FREE temporary parts. They'll get you by and generally work fine until you replace them with something better. Parts of every level of quality and cost are plentiful for these 'standard' models. You have to be realistic about what you're buying and what's reasonable to expect for the amount you're paying. Did you expect your $100 Harley Benton MusicMan bass copy to have the same features & performance of a $2500+ USA model? No fkn way!! Even a $400-$1000 Sterling? Not without some aftermarket parts and the time & attention to make it so. BUT, if you invest the $100 for the bass as a platform and spend another $100-$250 in parts you can arrive at something as good, if not better in looks, feel, performance & sound quality as a mid-tier Sterling, customized to your personal preferences for less than a Sterling off the shelf, no question. As far as the higher end Harley Benton guitars and basses like Enhanced, Elegant or Progressive basses or the higher end LP & Strat copies: SC-550 Plus EMG or Fusion III EMG models and the Amarok neck-thru EMG metal-oriented guitars, they are more expensive at ~$300 to $500 but come with premium features like Stainless Steel frets, high-mass bridges & active electronics for the basses, locking tuners, name brand pickups, both active or passive, with more sophisticated wiring & switching options, etc. These instruments represent an extremely high value proposition even with their higher price-point, easily competing with instruments in the $900-$1500 range. Just do your research, calibrate your expectations and contact Thomann customer service if you encounter any issues and you'll have a much better experience.
Well, I did end up contacting the guys at Thomann about this guitar and they did swap it out for me and replace it, which was great. The second one works just fine and has none of the issues that this particular model had, so I’m pleased with it for a cost effective purchase. It was one of those things where I kept hearing about Harley Benton guitars, and I needed a new bass anyway, so I figured I’d try them out. The first experience was certainly a memorable one, but I’d still buy another from them if necessary. Funny story - I recently had one of my viewers reach out and message me to tell me that they are now in possession of the very bass guitar in this video. Complete with the same issues and the same string I replaced the stock strings with. I thought it was cool that they’d bought the return stock of this guitar and even cooler that they’d share that story with me. Small world. 🤣 Really appreciate your comment and input my friend. Thank you! 🙏🏻
