First of all the bass looks sweet! I love the matt black finish although I'm not convinced about the middle bit (have no idea what the name of it is 🤣) Brill video and deffo think the bass is worth the pennies, can't wait to hear what it can do with decent strings. Also I vote yes for new song with that groove, been a while since we have had a JT original to pleasure our ears 😉

Thank you!! Yes, it sure is pretty! Ah, you must mean the pick guard! I think I know what you mean. I'm typically not a fan of pick guards, myself. I'm certainly thinking I will turn that riff into some 8 and a half minute homage to Metallica. LOL! Jay Castle said in an earlier comment that the bass in the mix was a little tinny, and I hear it now, so I'll be sure to make it meatier for the final track!

Ordered this bass last week. It's still in transit. Even with exchange and shipping to Canada, it's a great deal. Also you need to make that a full song!!;

Doggo was jealous, he noticed how you complemented your new black girl on her looks. That first song you played is from Dark Sun - Arena OST, right? P.S. I just ordered this exact guitar, no lie.

Fret buzz (and tight tuning) would have me checking the neck relief. Stretching the strings while doing initial tuning might also help. It's usually the D and G (stock) strings that worry me.

Great suggestion! I didn’t even think to check the neck relief. Thankfully, the D and G stock strings seemed to be okay and it was only the low E that I had issues with. Thank you for your comment and input. 🤘🏻🙂

At least it sounds better than costs, and looks pretty nice👍

what a great looking bass, also loved this video style mate great stuff. The bass sounded a bit tiny.. tinie tin-e.... how the fuck do you spell that haha any way I like a bit of deeper sound personally, although like you said with the tension etc it might be the strings 🤔 the tune you made was awesome as well mate can definitely see you making an absalute banger out of that 🤘

Haha! 😂 Yeah, I get you! The strings are definitely needing to be changed. I honestly couldn’t get the stock strings into standard tuning. Well, the low E, anyway. When you say it sounded tinny, do you mean in the unmixed play or in the final full mix? I completely changed the tone of the bass in the final mix to try to be closer to an early Metallica-like sound as the song took that shape. I’m definitely thinking I’m gonna turn that into something for fun and I’ll make sure that bass is nice and deep and pretty and stuffs. 😆 Thanks for watching this though, dude. And I appreciate that feedback!! 🤘🏻

I’m gonna make that bass meaty, just for you, in the final track when it’s done. Haha. I’ve just listened back to it and I’m totally hearing what you pointed out. Too much in the mids! Maybe a bit too much “clang” too. Oops! It’s okay - it was a test that I mixed in like, 20 minutes. I normally spend hours on mixes so… 😂😂 Yes - get yourself back wielding that bass! Then we can have a jam together and collab on something!!

i bought it but it didn't arrived yet, can i tune it to E standard? Because you said that the tuning it's tight but i see other videos when they bring it outta the box and tune it to E without problems. I don't understand😟

Hi Forza! The guitar you have ordered should be fine, I would hope. This one I had in the video arrived with some defects, and the reason the Low E string would not tune correctly was due to the gear at the back being broken. I have since had this guitar replaced by Thomann and Harley Benton and it works just fine now. I hope you enjoy your new guitar when it arrives! Thanks for your comment! 🤘🏻

Mine looks great, feels great, sounds horrible! Unplayable. Still has the tag hanging from one of the tuners. I can't bring myself to plug it in again. I don't know what to do with it.

@JTStudios It's not worth the effort. I have a massive collection of ridiculously priced basses. I just wanted to see how this thing played. I got the active HH version too. That one had sharp fret edges and a very uncomfortable neck but it sounds decent unless I use the selector to split any of the pickups. Very loud buzzing.
