Hi! My name's Gary. My goal is to help musicians like you to develop your craft, stay inspired, and share your music. It is with that mission in mind that I began Pow Music - a music education company founded in February of 2017!
Aside from being a life-long musician and music lover, I've spent the past seven years combined, serving as the National Training Manager and then the Director of Curriculum for the awesome music ed non-profit, Little Kids Rock, and teaching general music and modern band in NYC public schools. I've had the privilege to teach and train thousands of children and adults all over the world on how to compose, improvise, and play the music they know and love. Pow Music is my medium for sharing all the things that I have learned, and that my guests have learned, with you.

Prodigious people are able to make something complicated if it looks simple or, put another way, use simple things to create something complex. BB King's minimalist style is something unique. We can play all the notes, even in the correct tempo and mode, but it still won't sound like he did. Thank you for sharing. Excuse my bad English.
Please we need more lessons like this 🥰 thank you 🥰
Thank you ❤ amazing and helpfull 🥰
Thank this wonderful guitar teaching, fantastic
Can anyone recommend the best way to practice the scalic runs up and down the fretboard?
Bb is V not IV. IV os Ab.
the fretLive tool is amazing. For me, it really comes together when I see it this way.
I've been teaching myself guitar for the last year and a bit. I wish I had seen this video earlier on. It's masterful. Thank you!
If I can ask! I am so far a month in. I always finding myself back here because the tone and way you teach. I wondered what would you recommend for me. Thank you so much for such amazing content 🤞🏾
The thing I love most about this video is that you're too busy to sit down in front of a camera to record it 😂 you're too busy living your life!.
Thank you!
Fogueira Gaúcha 🐎🐎🐎🐎

Carlos Santana SUCKS ! HE'S BEEN PLAYING THOSE SAME LICKS FOR OVER HALF A CENTURY. HE'S THE PERFECT EXAMPLE THAT YOU CAN'T TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS ! VALE MADRES
he sucks so much that he's got millions and millions of adoring fans...lol
I'm loving your lessons man. Ive got to ask, is that a highway one strat or the USA nitro? I have the latter, love that guitar. Just wondering if yours has the Texas specials or not?
I believe this is an American Special limited edition with hand rubbed stain finish and satin nitro. The pickups are the American Standard ones with the plastic bobbins and modern wire. I LOVE them. Very underated pickups.
@PowMusic thanks, I love the tone nice and thick, the Jumbo frets don't hurt. Great feeling guitar. I threw a mint pickgaurd with aged parchment pu covers and knobs on mine, really compliments the satin honeyburst.
What ya calling a flam is also known as a ghost note!❤
Man you are incredible, thank you for this one.
Thank you Did you do a Oye Como VA?
yes! search "pow music oye como va"
If you think this is cool, you should check out Tomo Fujita. I like the Pentatonic Equator approach, but it only covers two shapes. There are five shapes. So it's a good start, but don't think he's giving away the game here.
Im not sure why youtube didnt recomend this video sooner. Id been looking at B.B. King lick tutorials for a while. But a tutorial by the man himself omg this is amazing thank you so much for the animations too SO HELPFUL!
Glad you found it helpful
Your animations and videos are on top 🏆 of explanation! Thank you 🙏
I appreciate these videos, this is right at my level
Good to hear Todd
This is ripped off from the late great Peter Green Santana is a theif
People do covers all the time...in this video he attributes credit to Peter...
@@PowMusic he should give credit to Peter He would have no career without him

best guitar channel ever with this kind of video wow
amazing video wow
I’ve just started learning common chord progressions within C major and was trying to match them to songs I can play. Then I found your video. Perfect! Thank you. (my mistake was trying to find four-chord progressions straight off the bat. Starting with two-chord progressions made it easier to identify, learn and memorise the numbers.)
Glad it helped!
This ain’t for beginners 🥹
true...
Very good. I like very much .
magnifient
So awesome brother
Pretty good exercise thanks
Great video, could be better if he could unlock pentatonic box 2 in this position you can go both ways
Excelente explicación de una de la mejores melodías de mi guitarrista favorito Carlos Santana Gracias
