    I towed an 8,000 lb camper with a 2022 Tundra and the trans gage was at the same level as not towing. I also tow the same rig with a 2023 2500 diesel and the trans fluid sits at 150 and will hit 175 when climbing a 6% grade for 5 miles. These HD’s are great for towing. The exhaust brake is a game changer.

    Manual actually recommends running 30:1. I run Maxima 927 at 32:1. The JD jetting kit and the recommended setting in that kit are critical to a good running YZ125. Mine runs perfect. I am now running a Smartcarb, and even better. It also makes a big difference in overall power and smooths out the power a little. But it's very expensive. JD Jetting kit at the very least is needed for this bike to run really good.

  • @GOATbro_Australia
    @GOATbro_AustraliaАй бұрын

    I probably didn't need to, but I did trim a little just to be safe. If you take your airbox/subframe off, you can mount the carb to the airboot. If you spin it around, you can see if the rear ports clear the inner lip. Also, once installed, your shock spring will rub slightly on the airboot at the very top of the stroke. Some are sanding a spot down to clear it, but I have not found a need too.

    I have a few eMTBs and the overall quality is very good on the HC5. I think the battery cover could be better for sure, the charging port cover is not great, but they changed that on later models, and the stock pedals are junk. Other than that it has held up well after 150 miles. I really like it. It's hard for me to compare it against other bikes, but I would say it's good value for the money, and should last a very long time. Hope that helps.

    Absolutely have the same issue. Brand new..... I could barely get the tube to close with three rounds and I kind of forced it with four which smashed most of the rounds in the tube, good thing it didn't blow up on me 🎉 And then no way you're going to get that fifth round via side gate. After really trying to force that fourth round via tube fed, closing it, pop the lever open as well. After tinkering around with it for about 20 minutes, the lever seized open....., Forced the lever closed and the gun pretty much became destroyed after that. It will not close all the way, it's rattling and clunky, the elevator that lifts the next round is seized and the gun is pretty much a paperweight now. Contacted their customer service, going to have to play that game. I told them if they think they're going to just repair this one not acceptable. I want a brand new one, and you better make sure that there is absolutely no issues feeding the five rounds via tube or side gate because if there is I will take my money back. My first time purchasing a Henry rifle, I've got cheap Chinese POS firearms that function perfectly fine... To spend almost $1,200 on american-made that falls apart without even being able to shoot the weapon is super concerning. I think they just rushed this design mass-produced a bunch and didn't really refine it. Very disappointed!

  • @GOATbro_Australia
    @GOATbro_AustraliaАй бұрын

    I hear ya! I was pissed too. They did repair mine and did cover all costs, but I can't blame you for wanting a new one. Anyway, mine has worked without issue since being repaired, but it was a pain. Once working, it's a great rifle, but it should have come that way from the factory for the money you spend.

  • @GOATbro_Australia
    @GOATbro_AustraliaАй бұрын

    If the bike is on a stand and the rear suspension is fully extended, it might rub slightly. The actual length of the carb is the same as stock when I measured, so I am not really sure why it would rub, but yes when the suspension is fully extended it seems to rub slightly. Probably not much of a concern. Maybe contact SC and see if they have more insight into this.

  • @SmartCarbFuelSystems
    @SmartCarbFuelSystemsАй бұрын

    @@delayeddeyhaus7720 SmartCarbs are slightly longer end-to-end than stock due to routing the vent passages internally. There's only so small it can be shrunk before running out of room for those passageways. That said the longer length is typically a non-issue. Slight airboot/shock spring contact is permissible and will only result in the boot shining up over time. The spring doesn't move enough to cause any actual wearing through of the boot and is at its worst at full extension up on the stand. Removing the reed spacer, if present, will shift the carb forward and away from the spring. In general we don't recommend running the Boysen RAD valve in conjunction with a larger-than-stock diameter rear shock spring. Doing so really limits the amount of room for the carb. Happy to answer any questions!

    @@SmartCarbFuelSystems ya I ended up sanding down the outside a bit but stopped and just threw it on. Once I sit on the bike there’s not much contact if any. Sorry yes, I did test the kit, and no complaints. Ran smooth and clean. A definite improvement over stock. It's worth the money. As for the Smartcarb, that was mostly to satisfy my own curiosity and it surprised me. It added significant power across the board, especially on the low end, and runs even cleaner and smoother than the JD kit. In my opinion, it was worth the expense. The JD kit is certainly worth doing if you can't afford a SC. Hope that helps, and sorry again for that lack of detail.
