Homeboy said "throw the wave", "The wave pattern" "like this" 5 times - no muscles (BS) - 3 minutes in talked about using any punch for 2 minutes -- never saw anything new or clearly explained mechanics whatsoever.. Dude WTF kind of mechanics lesson begins and ends with saying "Body type of wave" "Relaxed body structure" "Body type of wave", "Bounce effect" are you kidding? Have no idea if this is real or not but nothing new here... Let's see you hit a punch meter and show how much power is there...

Mas Oyama believe it or not was my thesis subject in college. As a theater major and a Kyokushin Karateka, I was the first to tell his story in the theater. So it took me an entire year (2023) to read about his life with the help of my sensei who gave me the source materials to writing about Oyama.

I like the idea of aikido an kind of think of it as the ultimate defense martials, but i do think you need to mix it with another martial arts an possibly something that focuses on pressure points. I think if it had something to purely disable an opponent it'd be perfect.

Anyone going down this rabbit hole of what martial arts are effective and what aren't...let me save you a bunch of time: It's the Indian and not the arrow. There are martial arts that are broadly considered effective - MMA, wrestling, bjj, boxing, muay thai, kickboxing, etc... but you if have no guts and no spirit it won't work as well as it could. If you are not fit they won't work as well as it could. If you emotionally and mentally aren't up to the task, it doesn't matter what you practice. Ultimately striking is striking and grappling is grappling, no matter the style. There are only so many ways for a human body to move. The concepts of leverage, timing, concentration of force, deception, etc... are universal. If you ever are truly wondering what can work, just get a buddy or find a class that rolls/spars/drills and start experimenting. Random youtubers are all opinion. And we know what opinions are like. Everyone has one. Usually it's just things they heard, didn't critically think about, have little to no experience with, and vomited back onto the internet for content. Study is fine. Theory is fine. But you have to get out there and play and mix it up. End of story.

Once upon a time there was a man named Haa Hon Hung (1892-1962) from Gao Ming County near Foshan, who studied Choy Li Fut from his brother Xia Sang. In the early 1920s he became a student of Great Grandmaster Cheung Lai Cheung in Guangzhou city, the capital of Guangdong province, learning Pak Mei. In 1938 after 18 long years of being a Pak Mei (White Eyebrow Kung Fu) student he had a falling out with Great Grandmaster Cheung Lai Cheung. He could no longer teach under the Pak Mei banner and so Yau Kung Mun was invented with a similar yet different enough backstory. So those of you in the comments who mention its resemblance to Pak Mei now you know why. The Foshan lineage of Pak Mei also comes from Haa Hon Hung and people often comment that it looks like Pak Mei mixed with Choy Li Fut which is because that was the background of Haa Hon Hung. To be clear I am not making any kind of judgement on the quality of Yau Kung Mun or Foshan Pak Mei, I am only providing some information about Haa Hon Hung, in response to the comment "resemblance of Bak Mei" so let no one be offended as no offense is meant. Sometimes Haa Hong Hung is rendered Xia Hanxiong (pinyin).

Why so hated? Because in Aikido, they do not openly tell the keys which make Aikido work. Take as an example, there is a Aikido master, i think his name Shirakawa or smth like that (sorry if I m wrong). Almost every matrial artists who practiced with him said he has very flexible joints, but then ask most of Aikido students, do they have flexible joints? Or do they know how to get flexible joint? Compare this with Taekwondo, almost every Taekwondo students know how train their flexibilty.

There are many misunderstandings about aikido. The most common misunderstanding is about wrist-grabbing. Indeed, many people cannot understand the reason why it is the main attack. What is very often not said is that the attacker grabs a wrist because who performs the technique is supposed to hold a blade
