    Doesn’t atmospheric air get re introduced into the flask when you remove the stopper to add the powders?

  • @Thealchemistscorner

    It would be minimal because the inhert gasses are generally heavier than the atmosphere IIRC

    I notice you use DCM with plastic materials. Are you not worried about the DCM dissolving any of these polymers into your sample? Or are you using solvent-resistant materials?

    Please take a second to read the most important new you'll ever hear: There is a GOD in Heaven who loves you and treasures you. At times it may feel like we can't feel that love, but today I'm reminded of it through good and bad things. He created our very ability to feel joy. All good things come from HIM - and the greatest gift that has ever been given, is GOD's Son Jesus Christ, crucified. We all have sinned (done what is evil in GOD's sight). Have you ever lied? Stolen? Used GOD's name in vain (called blasphemy)? Looked at someone lustfully (Jesus said this is the same as committing adultery)? I have. That makes us both lying, thieving, blasphemous adulterers at heart (if you have too). Everyone has sinned in some way. We all fall short of GOD's standard of perfection. On judgement day when we have to stand before GOD when we die we would both be guilty and deserving to go to hell. But GOD, because of HIS great love for you, grace and mercy, offer salvation for anyone who is willing to accept it. He sent He put a body on Himself, came down as Jesus Christ to live a perfect life and be the only sacrifice for you and me. Jesus took everything we've ever done wrong upon Himself, took our punishment/death, therefore paid in full the debt we owe to GOD, that we could never pay back ourselves. He died on a cross but rose from the dead after 3 days. He said if _anyone_ will repent (turn from sin, what you know is wrong and what GOD says is wrong) and believe that He died and rose again and His sacrifice is the only thing great enough to justify you before GOD - you WILL be saved. The invitation is open to everyone, to be saved through Jesus is the only way to the true and Living GOD. Beloved one thank you for reading this far. Please consider giving your life to Jesus today, before it is too late.

    ..d in industral workers working in factories reeking of hexane for years on end. If your lab reeks of hexane i can understand the concern, but with the amounts used here, you're unlikely to get anywhere near the hundred ppm exposure limit at any point. I'd be ever so slightly more concerned about DCM bt even there it's not that big a deal, maybe move it to the fume hood on an exceptionally hot day.

  • @grebulocities8225
    @grebulocities82258 ай бұрын

    Yeah, I also wouldn't worry about occasional exposures to small amounts of hexane like this. If you are still worried, just substitute heptane - it will work identically, but does not have the same neurotoxic effects and is also somewhat less volatile.
