One of the funniest “takes” for me is that someone owes it to a literal corporation to be nice with their reviews, even if their individual experience is measurably horrible. Just make a better product or commit more to buyers/users having a good experience!

I remember when Linus Tech Tips got in trouble for poorly testing/reviewing a GPU cooling block prototype from Billet Labs, the prototype had specific instructions on what hardware to use with it and LTT ignored that. LTT dragged Billet Labs in their review, which harmed the small company reputation. The prototype was supposed to be returned to Billet Labs. Instead, it was auctioned off for charity. So yeah, creators can potentially destroy small companies.

I really wish Quibi was still a thing. I am a parent, and I could really use 10 minutes or less entertainment. It can take me all day to watch something 40 minutes long between naps and chores.

WattPad's downfall after being acquired by WebToon is depressing because so many Webtoon creators are coming out with the same stories: predatory contracts, NDAs, having no control over their IPs. It seems like a rotten company overall

I actually did used to be a fan of her a few years ago. One thing I think is interesting is that she would probably make fun of people who did what she’s doing now back in like 2019 or just back when she was really popping off

It was a while since I watched other of your videos. You have changed SO MUCH in this recent years, you look almost like a different person. You seem to be so much more confident and wise, there's something in your non verbal language. It's cool. I need to come more often.

BTW have you seen there is a new update on the NEOM project in Saudi Arabia. It's bad, very bad, seems like the Saudi Crown Prince and his cronies lost sight of all reality and it is going to eviserate the Saudi sovereign wealth fund.

Coming here after listening to Insta365's hidden sponsorships. I prefer MKBHD's honest reviews to someone being paid to praise a product.

Bro anyone remembers his PC building disastrous video? He can talk like he's an expert but when put to test he bombed hard. Mounted the PSU with fan facing the plate, completely blocking the airflow. He smeared CPU paste all over :D:D and how bout the ram issue and then lied about it to keep up the expert image lol fake it till you make it kinda felah, and since that dishonesty from him i can't watch his vids thinking is he faking it again.

A reviewer does not destroy a company only the company can do that. Reviewers give their opinions on products for the most part they are not going to go out of their way to nitpick the tiny details to make them bigger than they seem. Quibi and rabbit ai both over promised on their product. They set up the expectations for their product not the reviewer. They made their bed they need to lay in it. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I wish she didnt change the title. I know it was a mistake but it was funny! After the Quibi part I am curious what Swell thinks of platforms like DropoutTV and Try Guys recently announced upcoming platform. KZread is very broken and could use some competition but Im unsure what to think of the business models with these.

It's like the patches in video games. Why do I have to wait for fundamental parts of the game when I already paid for it? And this isn't the indie games with like 1 or a handful of people working on it, it's Triple A game companies being greedy.

If they made a better product, then one or two bad reviews wouldn't nuke the company. There would be good reviews to balance them out. None of these companies also had good reviews, just tons of bad ones. Because the product is bad. Make something that works and is useful, then people won't sh*t on your work. Movies and books and art are subjective, and not everything is for everyone. That's a totally different thing, in my opinion.

Interesting how the black creator is more under fire for their negative reviews when the white creators.... It's probably because he does reviews for the tech sector so they feel more comfortable attacking him. But it's still interesting...

What would we the audience perceive as "honest" reviews, though? Come to think of it, we tend to expect something negative from the so-called honest reviews and suspect that anything positive is probably because "companies paid them to say so." Creators still want people to watch their videos, and they would probably leave some positive points out on the cutting room floor to make their videos look more "real" to their audience.

It’s also applicable to all other fields-just because someone worked on an artwork for years or made a really strong effort doesn’t mean it’s going to be good. Effort does not equal success at all. And it sucks so bad but it’s real life unfortunately.

There's definitely a standard that needs to be set for large reviewers. Ex you tend to be open about everything you think about a product. Where like marques is very ignorant of the products he reviews, and absolutely has favorite brands. But its a sticky path.
