This channel is created to help people clean, upgrade and repair their laptops.
Please be careful if you perform anything you never did before.
1) Remember where screws coming from
2) Remember where all cables coming from
3) Remove battery and unplug from power source prior doing anything to your laptop
4) Wear anti-static device (better wired and grounded anti-static device)
5) Use any other anti static precautions like anti static mat and/or anti-static gloves.
6) Be careful with all plastic parts specially all connectors on motherboard etc. They are very fragile.
7) Some screws made out of some very cheap metal and you need to apply good pressure to remove them.
8) Be prepared for unexpected damages like cracked screw holes and other broken plastic parts...
9) Prepare all tools and also glue or epoxy prior to fix anything.
10) Measure your steps 7 times - do 1 time.

great video, only things I’d say add is timestamps. But it might affect watch time which helps the channel grow. I don’t wanna leave that out.

I bought this for $350. I upgraded the CPU. It ran hot! Had to keep a pencil under it. But it served me well.

This actually felt very simple to disassemble the laptop but idk if I messed up my laptop because I got 3 and 4 beeps now
I have 10gigs of ram in it but I thought I can change out the 2gigs for a 8 but it gave me the 3 beeps. So I put back the 2gigs and now it’s back to the 5 beeps power failure.

@@regazzz Just a quick question. Now that I accessed it's insides, I want to make it so that my display uses my dedicated GPU (GTX 950m) instead of the integrated one (Intel HD Graphics 530). Unfortunately, I don't have a MUX Switch, so is it possible?
@@tajriyan3834 I think certain things can be controlled within operating system. Not sure there is any switch like on the desktop.

What’s this a panel number?
Hey man - do you know which of these components is the wireless card? I was expecting a little M.2 but only saw the SSD, so I'm wondering if it was on the USB board in the upper left. A friend's chromebook won't turn on wireless at all, which made me think the card got disconnected or died. If I knew where to find it in here, I could replace it. Thanks
I still have mine. Always wanted to open it to clean it but hell no. Its really complicated. Unfortunately it has always been slow.

Hello! I'm looking to replace the battery for this exact laptop, and just wondering which screwdriver heads i would need? Are they standard and included in most if not all screwdriver kits or would i need a specific set?
With this laptop I think it is called #00 should work but I would highly recommend buying any precision screwdriver set - that would have most of the needed bits.

Hi bro,i installed windows 10 pro in this ,switched off after use of 10 minutes ,cause heating is so much on hard disk and fan below . Can i change centrino 2 core processor ro i3 or i5 processor ,is this laptop support model no (dv4-104dee)
If there were models with such processors -maybe yes. You need to check what chipset this laptop has and find the appropriate CPU that will work. Usually there is information on the Intel website.
WHERE IS THE OTHER DIMM there is LITERALLY A SPOT FOR IT this pisses me off so bad now my 2x8GB kit is usless and i need to get a 1x16gb
I have one of these, only need to change the CMOS battery, total stripdown to access the battery...madness ...might just cut a hole in the case.

Can we upgrade wifi ?
If you find a Wi-Fi card that fits and can be found within OS and has drivers for your operating system AND better than original - it could work out. Maybe the driver will be found automatically. If not, by a manufacturer name and model you could try to find a Wi-Fi card driver. I wouldn't say it isn't possible.

@@vmahe53 physically appears to be possible to fit it, but I would really recommend to contact the seller and ask them. Also verify with the seller if they have drivers for it. Although it might find drivers on its own, don't forget Ethernet cable for this tho :-)

Hi my laptops power turn on and started charging but my screen doesn't turn on
Just picked up one of these today at a flea market. $40 and it runs great. Going to upgrade the I5 to an I7 and look at a faster graphics card. This thing was $1600 brand new. Looking at the device manager it’s got both an AMD and Intel HD Graphics drivers… weird.
Didn't do any research regarding drivers, but could it be intel for or on board integrated graphics and AMD for a GPU that I think could be replaceable in this laptop...
