    This was a terrible review. The Sony’s have terrible build quality. I really wonder how much you got paid by them to say all these things.

    Hello, I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and I wish I got paid to make this video! Just curious though, who do you think would have paid me, Sony or Nikon? I feel like I was more favorable to Nikon throughout this review. Yet, I'm also not sure if you watched the whole video (or own these cameras yourself), but both brands have their strengths and weaknesses like everything in life. I own and love cameras from both brands. I also tend to not lean into tribalistic feelings about anything, especially as superficial as cameras. I love Fuji cameras too and Canon's new r5ii looks amazing! Yet for now I'm sticking with Nikon and Sony only because I don't get paid by anybody and I have to buy my own glass, so it's easier to keep to just two ecosystems. Either way, thanks for sharing your feelings, and I hope you find what you are looking for in a camera or camera review in the future. Best of luck!

    I love the f38 system, but is not limited in the weight the top handle can handle? Was not to small for any sizeable rig?

  • @BrianCatalano
    @BrianCatalano2 күн бұрын

    Those are good questions and although I can't speak from experience as I didn't rig it up, I can say the falcam cage and accessories is way sturdier than the cages that I have rigged up on my other cameras (mostly smallrig and Neewer parts on my FX3). Yet, as for the quick release system itself, I personally think it could handle putting a monitor on the top handle easily and still quick-releasing it

  • @ManuelParodiRamos
    @ManuelParodiRamos2 күн бұрын

    @@BrianCatalano I think I remember that when I checked it I thought it would be sufficient to hold the camera/cage plus a monitor and a microphone. The issue comes if you want to add rods and av-Mount plus a zoom recorder. There I start feeling a bit uneasy. Otherwise, love the system!

    @@mayradayful hello! I guess I have a few follow up questions... Did you get it at a good price? Are you using it more for video or photo? If you purchased it for video, what are you planning on shooting? If you bought the camera for under $450 (USD equivalent), that's a really good deal. If you bought it to take photos, yes it's great! If you bought it to shoot video, yes it's still amazing, but you should be aware of its limitations which are just poor battery life and poor stabilization... Sonys feel like plastic junk. Completely void of all soul.

  • @BrianCatalano
    @BrianCatalano10 күн бұрын

    @@ghostgums I totally get that sentiment, especially the last part. My Sony zve1 is probably the best video camera I've ever owned at that price point, but also the cheapest feeling and most soulless in design. The bigger alpha body camera however, all do feel great and way prefer their handling over the Zf or zfc. Yet, again you are right, they are void of anything interesting about them. I absolutely love what Nikon is doing lately! That being said, if I could put the A74's sensor in the Zf body, that would be my dream hybrid camera!!

  • @ghostgums
    @ghostgums10 күн бұрын

    @@BrianCatalano Hey Brian, I’ve got a slightly different opinion. I’ve owned a few alphas, and I don’t know if it’s the creaky plastic or what it is, but the a7iv just felt so cheap. I’ve actually never held any other Z cameras so can’t comment except for the ZF, but for me personally I’d keep the ZF sensor over the a7iv. But that’s because I wouldn’t want anything higher than 26mp, I don’t want to store more data and I don’t need the resolution.

  • @ghostgums
    @ghostgums10 күн бұрын

    I do give Sony credit though as their Alpha bodies all have an exposure comp dial, along with Nikon and some fujis. The time I spent shooting Sony taught me that my favourite way to shoot was with auto ISO and riding the exposure comp dial to taste.

  • @BrianCatalano

    @@ghostgums I get that... The funny thing though is I had my 12mp video camera (fx3) and then my original A7C (24mp) and was looking forward to the a74/a7c2's (33mp) as I wanted more resolution but was also worried about file sizes... Yet, I haven't noticed any real difference in my workflow. And now after seeing my friends a7cr thinking how nice it would be to have both a full frame 61mp camera and a crop sensored 26mp in one body as then I could extend all my zoom lenses 1.5 times... But I'm again worried about file sizes, so honestly, now I wouldn't even mind a 40mp camera as it's hard to go back in resolution! Yet, I know I probably am just chasing numbers that I don't need...

    Hello, I will be happy to answer your questions. The standard stabilizer can be activated at 4k 120 fps or FHD 240 FPS, but it also depends on the specific camera which stabilizer can be used. Focus tracking generally works well at 120 fps and 240 FPS, but this can vary depending on the camera. In low-light conditions, the quality may be similar to the FX3 and A7SIII, but this depends on the specific camera. It is important to compare the specific features and performance of the cameras to get an accurate assessment. I hope these answers have been helpful.
