    Mate. Never ever work on a car supported by a jack alone. I’ve seen a jack drop and it’s a blink of an eye.

    I'm considering buying an E46 320D and this was just the video I needed. Not overly technical and a good owner's experience review.

    Damn, my freaking astra is expensive to own... I'd better move to a 320d. Same kind of money spent on the car to fix... and it's a crap car. At least this one is nice

    Very interesting vid. Not many of these left and most base models have been scrapped since they are now at that age where they need rust repairs. I have a 1994 base model mk3 golf that is currently in for new inner/outer sills, floor pan and chassis legs. Expensive but I can’t let it die it’s properly under my skin

    I had it's 330d big brother and loved everything about it apart from it's thermostat and propshaft doughnut apatite however the dusty looking stick thing sticking out of the steering column on the left was in amazing condition.

    hi whats your opinion of the 1.8 20valve non turbo mk4?

  • @LukeBudd
    @LukeBudd8 ай бұрын

    Hi! the 1.8 non turbo will be a fine car, not as quick as the turbo alternative of course! Depends whether bhp is an important factor for you.

    Great Car! Thanks for the look around. I have my VW Golf Mk4 2002 still since new. Now, done just over 242K miles. In absolutely beautiful condition I still treat in like a new car! ( You know. Paranoid about leaving it parked, choosing the most inconvenient public spaces in car parks - far corner away from everyone. ) Apart from the Cam Belt change do my own servicing. Never let me down. Love it! ❤

    The cars made in Germany are the best in quality in the entire mechanical sheet unit. The Germans are rigorous in everything with their products.

  • @jhonmacklein7672
    @jhonmacklein76728 ай бұрын

    For a car like this to have parts with rust, it had to be exposed to absolute abandonment since it is a car with the best quality of sheet metal on the market.

  • @jhonmacklein7672
    @jhonmacklein76728 ай бұрын

    For rust problems, the best solution and the one that works best if you know how to do it is to cut the part damaged by rust and weld a piece of sheet metal of the same quality and thickness and then polish until the weld points are covered. Apart from this method you also prevent the rust from continuing to advance.

    Yes, sills, floor and tailgate on mine. Arguably one of VW's worst cars, I seem to recall they were using some poor quality steel in this era. Mine was put out of its misery in a RTC. bought an '06 Focus - much better drive IMHO!

    WD40 gets that sticky stuff off super quick. I didn't even use dental floss/wire on mine, I just soaked the badges in WD40 and stuck a plastic trim remover under each letter to remove them.

    It's very annoying how much insurance is here. The local garage near me is selling a mitsubishi fto for 2 and a half grand but its like 8 grand a year which is a shame but hopefully it's still available to buy when my insurance gets cheaper

    It's funny here driving a BMW actually means people will let you in, because they assume you're gonna force your way in anyways so they just let you in lol. And people in general will not force their way in in front of you. When I drive other cars, people don't wanna let you in, they cut you off and force themselve in front of you, etc. Especially worse when I drive my mom's Mini, people do not give a shit about you. That being said, you do get people that want to race you. Even when you're in a freaking 318d. I've had a Kia Rio try to race me, like the car you'd expect the least to start a race.

    Does anyone else have an issue when you come to the car at a later time it won't let you connect to the Bluetooth? In order for me to reconnect I have to pull the main connector on so the Bluetooth is discoverable. When the unit is connectable it is phenomenal...just wondering if I missed anything or do I have a defective unit?
