Use a vacuum with a screen to catch your parts much easier 😊
Hey, if anyone wants to buy me one of these, just letting you know up front that I am open to discuss it.
The quality definitely looks better than FDM prints, on par with resin, that cleanup though...ugh! I'd probably need a diving mask and air tank to handle that stuff. Though I have heard that the powered used for this method of printing quickly becomes unusable after repeated prints with the same batch of material.
Where are the undertale comments
Does bacteria grow on it
1:15 rendering artifact or ominous foreshadowing?
That was Adobe Premiere helping me out. Heh.
This is very exciting, but we need to be able to print metals at home.
If you can control the index of refraction inside a solid object you'd be able to do amazing things in the manufacture of optics.
Tumbleweed-level spaghetti
Hmm, maybe, innovative idea yes, but I'll wait for a couple of years to see what the refined versions will be, till then I'll stick to my FDM printers.
put a 3d printer on its end lol
Yea and I thought that resin printing post processing. Pretty sure that most people are not going to go for this except for the extreme fans of the hobby.
F that 😂
What in the lung cancer is this. I wouldn't use anything powder based in my home, maybe in my garage with proper airflow. Still a nice step in the right direction, Im excited for some proper tests.
I went to a formlabs print farm and no one was using any mask
22:34 oop, there goes gravity
Strange Parts gave this tech a terrible review.
He had some crazy issues with the auger. We compared notes.
@@3DPrintingNerd That was crazy. He did say he heard other examples but I've watched you, applied, and someone else who haven't mentioned any auger problems.
This will be the future in households 15-20 years from now. Kinda like in movies or cartoons where you can teleport something to another station far away. Imagine just sending a print from one household to another with a speedy result. Mind boggling to think we are getting close to that point in time.
Only real disadvantage I see with this style of printing is the weight of the final part, as you always have 100% infill.
Thank you all for your effort to make this happen. I would like to do the same on my X1C, but i have some issues with this. Maybe it is only me, but maybe you can help me out. On my X1C is a firmwar 1.06.02.12 installed. There are no optione for choosing thirdparty firmware and also there is no SSH Password. The only option i see is to upgrade to version 1.07.02. Could i install the X1Plus without this options? Or do i need to upgrade to 1.07.02 and after this a downgrade to 1.06.06. Do you have any idea about.
would an ultrasonic bed allow the liquid filament to debubble/departiculate to avoid blemishes?
The SLS I want is for metals, not plastic. For plastic, I’ll take the more common methods.
What are the material limitations of printers nowadays? I mean can we print basically any material?
Dang dude, 3d printing has left my brain for the most part since the early days. Insane the levels of advancement in 10 years!
You live in Oregon I think. Give us inch measurements! Hahaha
TWO SETS of lungs??? Joel is an alien, CONFIRMED!
We were using SLS at my company with the huge 3DS system. It was not worth the pain and cost. Now we use a basic desktop size FFF IDEX. There went years of my could have been christmas bonuses down the damn drain.
I see people mentioning about it requiring mask and all, yooo, many folks here have SLA, grab the parts with bare hands and dump the contaminated water in the sink. Go figures.
ohhh gosh that resin dust got me high from over here
World of Warcraft character prints
You've got 2 sets of lungs? Lucky man...
I was excited about SLS until I saw this video. There’s NO way I could use this in my home. Or shop. It needs a dedicated room with good ventilation.
Seems like a nightmare to handle, to be honest. Somehow more of a hassle than resin. Not just because of the early state of the tech, but rather the whole process. I don't know that consumer SLS will be viable until a semi-automated post-processing method emerges (like the equivalent of supersonic cleaning+curing stations for resin).
I'll just stick to FDM printing....
COMPUTER! Hologram me a streak medium rare. *bleep bloop bloop bleep* . . . I said medium rare, not Raw!
Cant help but feel that 80 grit is a bit too coarse. Kudos on the glass bead, though
This is well over $5000 - it has tons of issues and I'm kind of surprised it's still going to be pushed out to the public with said issues. Oh that's right, they said they need more money to fix the issues that's why they are willing to ship and fulfill these anyway to the backers. It's junk.
I'll stick to FDM for a little longer. ;)
The way this guy talks reminds me of how the creator of The Oasis in Ready Player One talks
good luck to the guy but the cake removal process is stupid.
Really wish they had a clear option.
So much life in those prints
Others are reporting that this machine is not ready for production - do not buy! Watch some other videos before buying!
crap
I can't wait to see the first stop-motion movie using this technology... I'm absolutely flabbergasted!
The number of times I've said, "holy crap" just shows how crazy this tech is. Wow
And we thought resin printing at home was a bad idea. No. You have a duty to tell people how toxic this stuff is at the start of the video. Not nearly 8mins in. It should state that this process is more carcinogenic than smoking daily. This is not a at home printer, you very impulsive content creator. Please research manufacturing processes properly before advertising them to your impressionable audience. Also, the mask you are wearing. It is not designed for this. It will do nothing.
I know this is a prototype, but i gotta be honest...the prints dont look THAT great. I'm seeing the main benefits being supportless printing and reusable material (ie. No waste). Hoping their final product manages to increase the quality.
Why is no one talking about how most SLS powders are over 100$ per Kg? The price of the printer might be palatable, but that material cost would definitely add up.
Nah it's more like SLS 3d printing at your rich neighbor's home.
