Max Bias is not versatile. It will look like garbage on most shots. Ball rolls too forward, too quickly. If you can really get around it, and over power the lane, then you can make it look pretty good. Or it might be a really good ball for people with extremely high tilt.
Wait until the hazmat ball video. Lots of information regarding this ball and changes. Stay tuned. You will be surprised
GB5 is my favorite symmetrical piece in a while.
Thank you for this review. Definitely going with the Extreme Envy.
Love that ball carry
Joe, for these strong balls, why don't you use two lanes? One with a house shot and one with a sport shot. That would be quite useful.
Might be something to think about.
31 minutes that described benchmark ball strategy, symetrical vs asymetrical cores, coverstock variances and the legacy of the IQ Tour! Very informative and viewer friendly. Best half of an hour invested as it educated and demonstrated hours and hours of bowling tech in easy to watch and comprehend format. Keep it coming Ben and West Seattle Pro Shop!
How about throwing this one along with the Arctic Vibe? Should make a great pair together!
Tanner, I polished my OG Mindset. I threw it side by side to my new Intense Mindset. You can judge for yourself. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYCWpddydKbAZLA.htmlfeature=shared
Joe, I believe Louis Napoles ripped your NBC. He’s got the shirt. I’m sure you came out with it first. Whatever. Enjoy your vids much better! Thankyou
lol. Thanks. There’s always room for more NBC
You're up next Swanson!
Do you think the VEBo is a significant upgrade over the ruby and fate? I’ve been throwing the ruby and fate and really like them but not love. Looking to pair with a tour dynamx
How was it drilled?
Great bowling Joe and awesome release
Thanks Chris
@@hammersomd I love my new bowl also Joe I like how it breaks
8:48 clap it out homie. Yayyyy
Yay yay yay!!!!
I believe that’s a good 1 - 2 punch
GB5 is a staple in my bag.
How much difference do the core numbers make for the same ball? For example, I have the Attention Star but in the 14 lb version. The numbers are 2.53, .046, .014 as opposed to 2.48, .049, .017 for 15 lbs. On paper these differences seem significant. Are they?
8:20 dude bout brought the house down
How is the blackout compared to the synergy
Way cleaner in the fronts, and definitely not as much traction and motion down lane. Lightning Blackout's a step down from the Idol Synergy, for sure
Terrific video! .. you deserve more subs!
Thanks! Much appreciated!
What is rough edge compound? Is that a storm product
Yep--Storm now has 2 new polishes/compounds: Rough Edge, and Smooth Edge. I prefer Rough Edge. Meant to give shine, but keep the grit at around 1000.
i have the hammer toxin that’s an absolute beast
Can i have both im my bag? I also have the 900 global xponent and original zen also the clone also a storm hyroad pearl
Definitely! I currently have both in my bag, and they work perfectly together. I've been starting league with the Ion, and as soon as the shot breaks now, I move to the IQ Tour. It's the best 1-2 punch I've ever seen
is WSB not going to do the eliminator tourny this year?
Good question. We're currently in talks to bring the Eliminator back. Definitely mention it to Jeff--the more people who ask for it, the more likely it will return!
Great video. Too many people go straight to urethane instead if trying short pin layouts. If you have slower ball speed or have a rev rate under 400 rpms short pin layouts are way more useful than urethane. Unless you love picking up 10 pins all day
Thanks--much appreciated! And I totally agree--short pin layouts can be a nice secret weapon when all else isn't getting the job done
I can't be without my 3.0 black widow
The ball's definitely been a beast for a lot of people at West Seattle Bowl, that's for sure
Great video!
Thanks--much appreciated!
I'm currently using an original Xponent as my benchmark ball. How would the Ion Pro compare to that?
Great question. I'd say the Xponent is almost a lateral move off the Ion. Meaning, it's about the same level of strength, but just a different shape. The Xponent gets into a roll a bit slower than the Ion, and is less responsive down lane... so they can weirdly play off each other nice as compliments.
My PSO drilled my Track Theorem, Perfect Mindset, and Infinity with the same layout of: PAP Left 5 Up 1 3/8 Layout 30 x 4 1/4 x 35° They all shoot straight. I can only get the Infinity to hook a tiny bit, if I rachet my wrist as far counterclockwise as I can. That has caused damage to my fingers, hand, wrist, forearm, and shoulder. Any tips to help those balls to perform correctly? Or do I need to start over with fresh balls and a fresh layout?
What's your rev rate and speed?
Thanks for this great video. I know what layout I need for my Ion Pro now. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
No prob--thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful. Let me know what you think after you drill one!
This is a such a good video! Really helps me decide how I want to drill my Ion when I get it next week. Awesome job
Awesome--glad I could help! Let us know how you like yours
I picked up the Scorpion LF as soon as it hit the market. I am a big Hammer fan but also a fan of the Scorpion line. The LF fits perfectly in my bag in between the Scorpion Hybrid and the Scorpion Sting 🦂... nothing hits like a Hammer, noth8ng stings like a Scorpion
My son, 2hander, loves the effect and the dna coil more than the beyond
Definitely looking to grab an attention star or coil!
Different strokes for different folks :)
What is the layout on the ball
If I recall correctly, Jeff's layouts was a 4.5" x 40
J-Dizzy in da house!
Heck yeah
I’m getting one of these soon!
Nice! Let us know how you like it
I didn't know Louis CK has a bowling channel?! 😮
He's a man of many talents
I've bowled for just 1 year and a half, so I'm still a beginner, with 165-170 avg... Which ball would you choose as 1st pearl asymm between Exotic Gem, DNA Coil and Attention Star? I bowl in 3-4 different centers here in Italy so in all of them I always find different lanes conditions and I can't buy all of them right now! Here in Italy, patterns usually ranges from 40 to 47 feet. As of now, I already have Phaze 2, Phaze 5, Gem (solid), Hammer white widow Urethane Pink, Brunswick Teal Rhino Pro, Motiv Sky Raptor and a spare ball. Thank you!
In my opinion, I'd recommend the DNA coil, of those 3. It's got the properties of a true pearl, but is a bit rounder off the spot down lane, and thus is a bit easier to control at the beginner level
Great video! My style is similar to yours, but a little slower speed. The shapes look similar. My IQ Tour Pearl cracked, so I need a shiny weaker (low diff) replacement. Maybe. At the top I have the Rubicon, VEVO, Phaze 2, Summit Peak, IQ Tour Solid, and the Mix. The Lightning Blackout sure looks good, and I'm leaning that way because of the shape. So I'm conflicted in my choice between it and the IQ Tour Ruby. The Ruby definitely looks weaker, but limited as to chasing the oil left and coming around the corner. With a similar style as yours, which would you recommend for my arsenal? Much thanks.
Thanks! And, great question. The IQ line has been my favorite line for over a decade, so, it's hard for me not to recommend the Ruby over the Lightning. But, I can also say that they bowl seem different from each other that I use them. The lightning spins up slower (higher RG), so, if you want/need earlier roll for your pearl like I tend to gravitate toward, go Ruby. But if you need a ball toffy down to the end of the pattern, go Lightning. Overall, the Ruby is a bit stronger than the Lightning
you need to say where you are standing what board. then what board you are throwing to. cannot relate this to me at all. all I see is the roll and hit. give us the whole story please.
i appreciate seeing a ball review with a -400 rev rate ,as i am 15mph with a 250rpm (guess) rev rate
Great! We love showcasing different styles. Stay tuned for more vids from Echo, too...
I live in Ohio. 🙂
I am just a pure USBC amateur bowler. 🙂
I need a better urethane ball for my fill shot. 🙂
I am thinking about upgrading my Ebonite Rainbow Black Pearl to a Hammer Urethane ball and I don’t know which one to get. 🙂
Where does the coil fit in relation to an absolute power and phaze 2?
Great question. The Coil seems to be stronger than the Power, to my eye, even though the Coil is a pearl. And both are above the Phase 2. So, if you bowl on heavier oil, the Power and Coil can fit together with you squaring up more with the Power, and then moving left with the Coil. The Phase 2 is all around different and weaker.
I think that fate is underated for sure.
I agree! Might be Belmo's best ball. Smoother and more controllable than people tend to give Belmo balls credit for
Harsh for me Is not a big ball. I get more motion out of my Idol Cosmos. Don't like It.
I can see that. But that's kind of what I like out of the Harsh: it handles heavy oil, but doesn't have big back end. It's surprisignly controllable and versatile for me
Great video. Best example as to why urethane is less superior to reactive. Bowling is hard enough. Don’t add unneeded variables to your game. Enjoy bowling guys.
Great video. I have all 3 balls u compared lightning to. Great bowling balls
Thanks! Much appreciated. Which of those 3 is your favorite?
