  @@jerryberkel8421 I don’t have the x4 - so I can’t say from direct experience. But the X4 has the AirPod connectivity so I would expect it to work with Instamic.

  @@ALICATMOTO sadly it won’t automatically reconnect. But you shouldn’t need to pair it again, just select Instamic from the AirPods menu. 👍

  I couldn’t say I don’t have the DJI 2. It’s hugely expensive though so I would hope it’s better! But like many wireless mics it requires a transmitter in your helmet and a receiver on the outside of the camera plus a mic adapter, cold shoe and a wire and your camera isn’t waterproof anymore. This is not good if you’re recording on a motorbike. The Instamic is one piece, self contained, waterproof and doesn’t require anything attached to your camera and so that remains waterproof too. This is the point of the film rather than which mic is better.

  Laminated jackets need a warm feather type jacket underneath to maintain warmth esp in wet weather as rain will cool you plus the weather temp

  Im seriously considering a 1200xc for the welsh borders as the tenere is just a bit too tall. I think id use my crf for those lanes in the wet though. Not sue how many 230kg dead lifts i have in me riding solo!

  I love my XC and can’t think of a bike I’d rather have. It’s certainly capable off-road but picking it up on a steep rocky slope on your own is no fun at all! So I think there are better bikes for serious off road use. If you want it mostly for road with a bit of gravel/farm tracks etc it’s perfect.

  @@spodokomoto5020 yep, that's exactly what I want one for. Believe me my crf is a lump on wet mud, in a hedge or slipping on wet chalk 😂 my Tracer 7 is pretty good for the 'tops' as its lightweight but I could use a 21" front and more travel.

  For a week long trip used a 40L US Rack Pack, 30L US DRY Pack and a 12L OS bag with a tank adapter. I’ve got some other bags but this is the set up I generally use. Kriega stuff works really well and you can mix and match different bags.

  I have the same setup. The video quality is a bit poor in 360 because you have 5.7mp but that for the complete 360 view.

  Everything is a compromise. I love the 360 shots and how easy the camera is to use. You do lose a bit of quality but I think it generally looks fine on social media on small screens. 👍

  Hi, found your channel and love your videos and presentation, I purchased a Instamic to go with my Insta360x3 as a result of your review on the Instamic. Can I ask why you do upload in 4K? As find your content very interesting and I know when I upload to KZread the content from the Insta360x3 in 4K is very good despite KZread's bitrate limitation, the 4K quality from the Insta360x3 when viewed in 4K is stunning. Again thanks for your great content, and I hope to have some new Insta360x3 and Instamic content soon.

  Brilliant review! Thank you for sharing! I'm in between the Defender 3 & the Poseidon 3 but I'm not sure to fully understand how's the vent work on the Poseidon if this is a laminated fabric... Does it mean that the Gore-Tex layer sits behind the vent and sort of blocking the airflow? Or is the Gore-Tex layer sits on the top so the vent can air flow in right into the mesh and straight into the skin?

  The flap is backed with Goretex and when it’s zipped down it’s totally waterproof. But when it’s open and clipped up there’s just mesh and so lots of air comes through. It’s a great system 👍

  Yes that’s the problem. You can buy direct from Instamic eu.instamic.io/collections/microphones but the availability is sporadic - I think the website is currently sold out. Alternatively search the market places - I actually bought mine used on eBay. Not ideal. Good luck 👍

  The Insta360 X3 will connect with the DJI Mic 2 over bluetooth. I believe the only shortcoming with that setup is if you power down either part you will have to reconnect them again in the settings.

  If you turn the camera off fully or take the battery out you will need to reconnect them. But it’s not a big deal. I tend to connect the mic and leave the camera on standby. This way the mic is always connected when you start filming. You can also use voice commands through the mic to control the camera this way. 👍

  It stays connected if you leave the camera on stand by. If it’s turned off fully or you take the battery out you do need to reconnect it. In practice it works ok and isn’t too inconvenient. 👍

  Thanks for your video! This would be an option. But not for me. I have a Sena Intercom, and I dont want to have a second microphone in the helmet and also all the charging stuff… 😖 I cant understand, why Insta360 do not provide to connect to ANY Bluetooth Headset! This is ridiculos in 2024

  Agreed. That would be the simplest solution. I really like my Insta 360 but there are a few issues like this which are annoying. Another one is the need for a ‘special’ card reader 😤

  A good combo is the INSTA360 X3 that you’ve got on your handlebars…plus the small INSTA360 GO 3 attached to your chin bar for POV shots

  Hi, yes mine is the Triumph tall screen - the extension is by Puig. I think it makes a big difference and I’m really happy with this set-up. You’re taller than me but there’s lots of adjustability. The extension is pretty cheap and clips on - so it’s worth a try.

  Mate- this is such a great find. I’m so disappointed with all the palava we have to go thru with GoPro sound. So for the instamic did you mess with the gain settings etc?

  The Instamic works really well - the fact that it’s self-contained and not physically connected to the camera is great. There’s an Instamic app - so you can lower the gain, mine’s at -15Db. Make sure you disconnect the mic from your phone before pairing with your camera - the Instamic will only Bluetooth with one device at a time. Mine’s the original mono Instamic Pro - the more up to date one is the Pro Plus. 👍

  I've heard the instamic when being used an audio recorder itself and it sounds good. Via bluetooth mode it sound's like the quality really suffers judging by the sound in this video. I get that it's handy though. Syncing in post really isn't a big deal these days until you have tons of footage.

  Hi. Hope you are well. I’m the man I recommend you the instamic connected via Bluetooth to the X3 to send commands as “start recording”. I need a favour , please. I bought the instamic although I don’t have the X3 yet. People say that if… Let’s say I record one video only ( or 512gb on the sd card) and I didn’t edit it. Then I save it in my laptop and then onto the iCloud. And after I erase the sd card. The video is in the iCloud( I erase the video from the lap top for space reasons). After, when I decide to edit it, I bring it back from the iCloud to the computer to edit it. People say I can’t do that and that I need to edit it before I send to the iCloud I go 40 days on the rd in one go every summer. I feel very tired to start editing at night.   I’m still pretty happy with it. Did a big trip in September Alps/Pyrenees and it worked great with the Insta x3 - I’m just too lazy to edit it all for KZread! £159 is still pricey but better than it was - if you can swallow that it does work 👍

  @7:05 I disagree. I am 5'9 and I got a revit defender 2 set, some 4 years ago. I got the short pants first in size L and I had to send them back and get the regular. The shorties would lift over my short alpinestars boots when sitting on the bike. Maybe I have long legs for my height, who knows. Anyway, waiting now for the Poseidon 3 set (watching reviews as I am waiting for it :) ) and I guess I'll see if they fit.

  Hi mate I bought the Instamic simply because of your recommendation and unfortunately I can't connect it to my insta 360 it can't detect it. Any suggestions? It comes uo on screen but just buffers when I tap

  Sorry to hear that. A couple of thoughts. If you’ve downloaded the Instamic app on your phone make sure that your phone is not still connected to the mic - the Instamic will only pair with one device at a time. Secondly try to pair the x3 with something else e.g. AirPods or another pair of Bluetooth headphones. At least this will tell you whether the fault is with the camera or the mic.

  Just got the instamic. testing here but the audio is too loud. Will need to fix theis changing the gain. Will play with it now to find the best adjustment. Great video! Thanks!

  Glad it was helpful. I used the Instamic App to turn the gain down to -15Db which works well in a helmet.
