In the first part of this tutorial, it ended with all the extra detail finished, and this video starts with the terrain already primed. I might have missed it, but did you use something to seal the MDF before priming or did you go straight on with the primer? I've just ordered a ton of TTCombat terrain for a Necromunda table but have never painted MDF before and there is a raging debate in the hobby on how best to / whether you should seal the MDF first. Would love to know what you did on this kit!
@rokminis59 Жыл бұрын
Hi! Did you watch part 1 about the build and texture stage? The primed minis I show at 1:00 are with the colours shown at the front, the dark tones that I talked about for contrast. These are just graffiti art paints. They’re not water based so the MDF doesn’t swell up and come In many colours. Alternatively the new TTC (made since the video came out) are amazing for MDF by design. If you use a traditional primer then yea, a seal of PVA does help but a TTC or graffiti paint you can just go straight onto the MDF. My additional building steps and painting steps will definitely bring out the best in the terrain. Especially all dirty for Necromunda

Yeah it stays set for life unless you try and destroy it. It’s all held up well and terrain i made many years ago this way is still going!
super fine. Especially the skeleton unit was quite impressive after just a short time. I cannot wait until you paint maybe some rok-stuff for epic scifi. Recently I have bought the new valejo range for their constrast paints. I am curious how they work. I have tried their contrast black on a 28mm minotaur and its looks very well so far.
Yes I must do some of the 6mm stuff to show the scale difference! I really want to get the Vallejo ones to try out!
@@rokminis59 I am not sure if I am competent enough to give an opinion about the series. I bought the complete range, but tried only 5 or 6 of them. I always thought that of the 3 lines from Army Painter, GW and now Valejo there are good colors and not so good ones. For example I like the red and the brown from army painter speed paint and I like the white from contrast. The goblin green contrast from Valejo I like best from all 5 colors I tried yet, but the dark green I find not very good. But contrary to you I am only a medium skilled painter, so my opinion is not worth much I guess.
Everyone’s opinion is worthy! As a developing painter, you are probably the target group for GW/AP over Vallejo, so your opinion there is very valuable! I’ll def grab some to test them out
Don't be afraid to tear that sponge dude!
I’ll just hulk out and shred it to bits 😂
Good video. It seems like a nice little system. I might have to pick it up. It looks like it does quite a bit without needing loads of dice. Expanding beyond the usual D6 does allow for a lot more nuance and interesting mechanics. Poor Bill, he seems to have my luck with dice. If we ever played a game, I imagine nowt would die.
He’s not blessed with great rolls. Don’t doubt that it balances out in a game we recorded for his Chanel last month though! Warzone Morloc. Yeah we loved the game and the minis definitely are a real winner. Very proud to have them listed as the designs are excellent
Nice Video but I have a question. Did you activate your artillery twice in one turn? it seemed like it shot at the mech when it came in and also later at the infantery
Not that I’m aware of as we tilted the cards but possibly a slip while playing and filming. No recollection that far back in time!
@@rokminis59 Did you play this in 15mm or in 6mm?
This was 6mm but they could be scaled as you like and the distance unit system means it’s flexible
🙈 Promo>SM!!
Sorry, don’t get what you mean there
Really enjoyed your video. Those bases look great on the Tech BTW. What size bases are you using?
Hi Jason, These are just files that I printed and include in the box set. I think I just made infantry 20x30 and rounded the edges. Made them in Blender. Then topped with Vallejo paste and some gavel
look up Maximilian Riede pleaseeeee
Sorry, was unable to make the connections here
I saw you use the resione brand resin, would you mind sharing which resin exactly?
M58. It’s expensive but worth it for the quality
@@rokminis59 Thanks a lot, man!
No worries. If you want details on settings etc hit me up on social media
Great video, the edit was good and it was easy to follow the game!
Thanks! I really love it and definitely one of the favourite things I have on my store
Tyranids coming? Hoping to get the starter with Necrons and Tyranids some day. Lol
Space bugs for the sci fi version are just test printed. I need to take some photos
@@rokminis59 Oh wow. That was fast. Lol time for some space bugs and undead robots. Lol.
Great combo! Follow me on social media and I’ll be putting up the info next week
@@rokminis59 Sweet! Will do. Do the sci-fi sets come with the little case like in this video too?
No they’re packed in cardboard boxes as the minis are in longer strips and blocks due to the support structure. Once based you could get them a components box like this but I would recommend a 0.5mm thick magnet on the base and a magnetic box
Really enjoyed this demo. Thanks!
Thanks Billy, hopefully it showed off just how great the game is to play!
Very well laid down! Thank for the video, man!
Thanks! Hope we didn’t have any major slip ups
Love your models, and the game looks promising as well. Can you tell us if there will be any kind of unit/army generator, or will it just be prepared forces added over time? Thanks.
@@Vorpal_Wit Ideally the cards that each unit has (and the universal ones available to all) should be enough to quickly build up any list you want to play with. More factions will be added soon-ish, which should increase the combinations and strategies too!
@@thelazyforger Thanks for the reply!
The simplicity of points on their cards and almost everything being single digit point costs makes any building and changes between games really quick and fluid
awesome
Thanks! I’ve added a lot more army options since.
This was exactly the video I was searching for! What way would you go for those despoilers you've printed? contrast paint or drybrush? Also you mentioned that you've used a flexible resin, I would like to know wich one is. Thanks for the video, I didn't knew about this contrast paint tecnique.
I use Resione brand resin. I dry brushed mine in the same way as the undead then did the cloaks and any flesh afterwards
@@rokminis59 I dry brushed mine with red. They came out cool but I was thinking about trying some contrast paint like you showed in the video.
They work great. Most of the brands that make this type paints are pretty good for it
4:26 That's wrong. They are supports, mini supports to be exact. Those don't have a narrow connection point. I mean, you can leave them there for sure, but they are indeed supports. Look at the pictures of the designer. Woudln't make much sense to have small little steel beams holding up the container, when it already supports itself by sitting on the roof, don't you think? ;)
Thanks. Yeah it wasn’t super clear so I left them but they fit just fine as steel support pipes to hold up the rickety containers
Very nice! Blunt but effective!
Thankfully someone sculpted a load of details on them and made it a breeze!
