This upload has been soo helpful for grounding myself when needed man. It transports me to the bliss of flicking lures on a quiet night in just 5 minutes. Cheers for that.
Glad that it's been able to help mate! Really thankful for the feedback
hey mate great video. is this spot in Perth or outside cheers

@@DangasTackleTips ok thanks
Hello sir, if I take a 20g jig it will be too heavy for fishing and different? Thanks
@gino55yo 20 would be fine just move it quickly if shallow 👍👍
I asked you the question because I am hesitant to take 10g or 20g. I would like to fish with my son and that he take a fish. With the 10g you caught a lot of fish?
@gino55yo ideally if you have a few different weights you can change lures to sed what works best for the conditions. For example on windy days yoy might need the extra weight to cast out or if heavy swell. 10g is good for herring if you can get the lure in the target area for sure 👍
Thank you for all these valuable explanations. I’ll try to do the best I can. 🙋♂️🙂👍🏖🎣
Love these helpful videos from you man, would love to see more!
@AlwaysJiggingYT thanks mate! Will hopefully getting out a bit more in next few weeks 👍👍
Danga... you are an absolute legend mate! I always watch your videos every Wednesday night I really look forward to them. I went straight into tacklewest and got some 4 inch Zman Streaks Curly Tailz and went down to one of my spots and landed a 50cm flatty I was stoked. Thanks for letting us know what soft plastics are the go and love the videos mate 👍 Cheers and tight lines bro 🐟
Hell yeah! Love reading this mate! Glad I could help 🤙🤙
what part of the swan is this bro
@@prodbyzxch middle reaches mate
I really struggled all last winter so I've been hibernating this winter waiting for spring.... might have to get out there and ping some lures at any bit of structure I see. A casting video would be good and, selfishly, an in depth winter tips and tricks video would be great too.
No worries mate! I will see what I can sort out 👍👍
@@DangasTackleTips Legend. Cheers.
Hi mate, I’m just wondering gopro you are using?
It's and old gopro 4+ mate. I am due for an upgrade. This version does have longer battery life though
Solid fish I caught a 45 under a popular bridge in the mid to upper reaches on motor oil slim swim 1/16 jighead 4lb leader also caught a 38.5 and a few others I was stoked
Slim swimz are my favourite for bream in the swan
@@DangasTackleTipssame there great and super effective for lots of species
Tempting fate with that head grab 😮 love it! Rubbed slime off the belly last time I got pinged by the rackers, seemed to stop the bleeding.
@user-mq5op5oy2n Hahaha yeah watching the footage back I was thinking what the hell was I doing 🤣
👍
@@jogguys 🤙🤙👍👍
I went upstream targeting bream but no structure so I targeted flathead on the sand with slim swims hopping along the bottom and got around 7 or 8 flattys some high 40s models on 4lb super light
@@sallyhealy8464 awesome mate! They are on the bite at the moment. Great with them upstream at the moment
@@DangasTackleTipsyeah did as good as I usually do in summer targeting flattys very cool to see there around
Nice one. A casting video sounds like a good idea - every bit helps 🙂
Cheers Pete! No worries I will sort one out sometime this year
Tips on not getting snagged to fuck on structure would help me!
@@MegaProcrastinating Using a weedless hook on placcies helps a lot and replacing the trebles on my diving hardbodies significantly reduced my loss rate too. 🙂
Thanks Mate. Love your vids!!!
Thanks mate!!
Great session mate - good to see the flatties are still about. Might have to have a winter flat session - been a while since I walked and fished 😅
Haha yeah I have to do the opposite dust of my yak and get out for a session been a long time now 😂
Good work mate. If you are keen for a lower reaches mish soon, would be fun to link up and flick some placcys. Good to see your still uploading in the throes of a busy life !
For sure mate! Yes trying to capitalise on those small windows these days haha
was this at trigger? keep uploading! so close to 1k
@BKFish444 nah far northern suburbs 👍 got a new one tmor 👍
daddy danga with another banga
🤣🤣 I spit my coffee laughing at this comment
That is a very big Bar-Tail especially for the Swan. The flathead maestro does it again, well done mate.
Haha cheers Mike! Was a suprise for this time of year!
2m flatties busting up mate... 6lb silly string no good for that.
😅
I was fishing about 3 weeks ago on the canning around Shelly and caught 5 flatties in about an hour on slim swims and hard bodies. Fishing close to the high tide does the trick.
@@joelbruning632 few about at the moment !
Danga for soapies can you have a look at the 2.5 inch daiwa bait junkie minnows in the white bait colour and tell me if that is a good colour thanks
They will work and caught mulloway on one before in bloodworm. If targeting soapies a specific a slightly bigger plastic might be better👍👍
@@DangasTackleTips so maybe go to the 3.2 inch
If its just soapies youre after then aim for 4" paddletails or grubs. Gulp nemesis 4" is pretty gun, especially the pearl watermelon at night. Try a sjmple double lift and drop action along the bottom. Real constant and predictable.
@@Xirishvamp1reX thanks a lot bro really appreciate it
Much faster than I would have expected. Thanks for sharing
I Rip it fast when casting over reef to avoid snags 👍
I went down there today and got about 7 flattys all on plastics

New to beach spinning but any advice on how to set the hook on big fish while they are peeling line off the reel? Went spinning tonight in Perth with a glow shiver stick around 7pm and hooked onto something big but it just kept running and I couldn’t set the hook. I was barely able to pull on the line too take it off my reel when I was setting my drag but it still took so much line. This was on a nasci 5000.
@nathanaeln if you have trebbles on the shiver stick can give a decent rip once you feel it strike, most of the time they hit it when retrieving and hook themselves. If using singles hooks if rip the rod up vertically more likely to set the hook where with trebbles doesn't matter. Can always upgrade trebbles to bkks or use a hook file if the hooks are rusted. Always tricky to work out the right drag as well.
@@DangasTackleTips is it worth upgrading the singles to bkk singles? And do you have any recommendations for how tight to set the drag? When I checked my drag I couldn’t even pull it with my hand. Absolutely spewing
@nathanaeln if you can't pull it with your hand probs too strong mate
You want to try and set no more than 1/3rd strength of your braid.
@nathanaeln with the singles they are pretty good out of the box, if you wash the salt off after use then will stay sharp. I tend to upgrade if going on a trip or they are blunt after a few decent sessions or hitting rock
Quality fish Danga.
Thanks Adam!
great video man. giving it a try this Saturday at attadale. cheers
Thanks mate! Good spot for them👍
Do you have any lure recommendations for early morning tailor before first light? Right now I’m able to fish in the morning but I need to get to work just before sunrise now in winter.
Surface lures or stickbaits like shiversticks or ssm zipbaits work well in the dark mate
@@DangasTackleTips any colour recommendations? Or are they mainly looking at the lure silhouette?
I just use my normal colours like white underneath, pilcjard, gold ect @nathanaeln
@@DangasTackleTips cheers for the advice. New to Perth. Gonna be fun trying to figure out how to target metro tailor during winter.
@nathanaeln no worries mate happy to help
Brilliant, can't wait for the next video. Still getting stacks of bream up my way - landed a very solid 39cm this morning on my little 6' Atomic Skinny Water + 1000 Vanford - scary stuff!
Nice work! Good size on the 1000!
What colour double clutch do you recommend?
Azure or gold is pretty good
Hey Danga do you happen to know any spots to target soapies
East perth, maylands, herrison island 👍👍
@@DangasTackleTips cheers boss
Good stuff in winter aswell
Cheers!
jeez don't see many flatties this time of year!
Nice fish🎣🐟👍🙂

Damn good track and a damn good flatty
Cheers mate! Though a good fit for a fattie flatie
That's awesome Danga! Well done man... he was a bloody ripper!
Cheers James! I was stoked!
How many mm is the double clutch?
I think in the video it's the 70, I like to use the 95 mostly
Love this vid. Fishing isn't always about fish.
Thanks Andy!
Top video thanks for sharing mate. 🤙🏽🎣
Thanks mate!
Fishing truly is therapeutic
💯
Cool video Danga. 100% agree fishing is good for the soul i love being on the water its very peaceful. Spewin about that one that jumped and spat the hook looked decent... what do you think it was? Looked silver man but i couldnt tell what it might have been.
Thanks James! Was a chunky tailor mate
great fishing bro, keep up the swan content

is that trigg?
More insightful video like this please!
Thanks mate! Will try and do a few more like this every now and then 👍
This vid resonates with me thoroughly. It's why a lot of us fish. The escape from the whirring mind, so you can clear your thoughts and live in the moment. Fantastic vid mate.
Thanks Paz!
Love it. I'm normally so busy checking baits and shaking burley bags that I don't get a chance to be very mindful. But when I have a fish on the line I always slow myself down and say "be present, pay attention, savour this moment". Thanks for the video
Thanks Wazza! absolutely got to savour the moment!
Good onya mate, takes courage to get vulnerable and put yourself out there. Good reminder to us all why we fish... and some top fishing tips as always. Cheers!
Thanks Dave! yes this video will not be for everyone, but definitely a big factor for why i am out fishing
What weighted jighead were ya using by the way?
