It sounds crazy _but_ you can put a washer underneath the clip, and fatten up the mixture.....

That needle does not adjust the idle speed. It's a mixture control needle. Raising or lowering the position of the needle changes what throttle position the carburetor can use the main jet for fuel and to what degree. If you want the engine to get on the main jet at a lower throttle position raise the needle, but make sure your engine can use the extra fuel at that rpm. If it can't, the engine will run poorly and become less efficient. The idle speed setting (if that carburetor has a non fixed idle speed) is a screw on the side that limits how far down the throttle slide can travel into the venturi.

Add a Spacer to lift the needle off the seat under the clip.

I was thinking exactly that. Couple of small washers or shims between the c clip and the housing. Back in the 70s and 80s we had to improvise everything from parts to tools as they either weren’t invented yet or to turn a $300 replacement in to a $10 fix.

All Chinese motors are copied from something else. Find the carb by a good manufacturer, that was copied. Or just the needle.

Can’t thank you enough for this DIY video. Ordered the part of Amazon, got that in about two days. Used the video to complete the repair in under two hours. Saved me about $1000. Plus, keeps the old 2012 Toyota Sienna SE racking up the miles, about to surpass 200,000 miles this summer!

Lots of sketchy stuff here good idea to put a couple sizes bigger pilot jet in while working on carb. These engines are notoriously lean from factory for epa reasons and they start much easier with less choking.

My son kayo fox 70 was having issues and what I found was they set the carb for a certain elevation and there is no way to adjust it so they make you think. There is a plug on the carb and if you drill and pop out the plug there is a adj screw behind it. Thing runs great now.

thanks a ton for this video! We had a 2015 sienna with a snapped cable. The dealership said it was covered under some sort of bulletin, but I opted just to replace it myself and not have the downtime of 2 days. Part was $90 CAD and it took me 45 mins to replace. One tip: The rear window trim piece can just bent bent back - plug it in first when you have slack in the cable, and then you don't need to remove the clip or the trim. Then plug the door side in. Def worth having a small or low profile ratchet, or an angled elbow to get into the tight spots.

I tooky van to get repaired after a minor collision and it came back with a defective passenger door. It won't open automatically by pulling the handle out BUT, it opens from the key fob and overhead button. It will also close automatically from the handle, key fob and button. It's bizarre. Think it could be the cable or something else?

You have a direct short to ground inside the smoker. I’d pull the back off of it to find the short, it should be easy to find. A melted wire connector probably

Worked great! Thanks for showing! Took about 2 hours start to finish. The last part you unscrewed below the window is actually not necessary if you hold off attaching the cable inside the door. Was also able to get the window piece off without snapping the plastic. Happy it worked so well! Thanks again!

Thank you! I found I only needed to pry the rear end moulding up to remove the back anchor instead of removing/breaking it. Also helped when I started with the rear anchor. I didn’t need to remove the bracket that way. End with the 90° anchor since there’s just enough slack to snap it into place as the last step. Thank you for walking me through the steps without music and fluff!

"i know you KZreadrs" Loved that line, 😂 cause I've definitely done that with car videos before, stopping the video early because I'm pretty sure I've "got it from here" and been wrong. Also, Loved seeing the kids, it was very cute and wholesome seeing them help their dad out. Last thing, really great video, very concise into the point, and straight forward on how to do everything. Keep up the great work
