Can’t thank you enough for this DIY video. Ordered the part of Amazon, got that in about two days. Used the video to complete the repair in under two hours. Saved me about $1000. Plus, keeps the old 2012 Toyota Sienna SE racking up the miles, about to surpass 200,000 miles this summer!

The cable on our 2013 Sienna Driver side door snapped this morning... found this video, called the dealer and for about $50ish, picked up the cable today after work and did this repair in a little over an hour. Thanks for the video!! Well done and saved me some $$$.

"i know you KZreadrs" Loved that line, 😂 cause I've definitely done that with car videos before, stopping the video early because I'm pretty sure I've "got it from here" and been wrong. Also, Loved seeing the kids, it was very cute and wholesome seeing them help their dad out. Last thing, really great video, very concise into the point, and straight forward on how to do everything. Keep up the great work

Thank you! I found I only needed to pry the rear end moulding up to remove the back anchor instead of removing/breaking it. Also helped when I started with the rear anchor. I didn’t need to remove the bracket that way. End with the 90° anchor since there’s just enough slack to snap it into place as the last step. Thank you for walking me through the steps without music and fluff!

I took some time to brainstorm the rail molding not to break and found a solution. Just pull the bottom out just enough to finagle the anchor out and the new one in. Didn't even need to unbolt the anchor point let alone take off the panel completely

thanks a ton for this video! We had a 2015 sienna with a snapped cable. The dealership said it was covered under some sort of bulletin, but I opted just to replace it myself and not have the downtime of 2 days. Part was $90 CAD and it took me 45 mins to replace. One tip: The rear window trim piece can just bent bent back - plug it in first when you have slack in the cable, and then you don't need to remove the clip or the trim. Then plug the door side in. Def worth having a small or low profile ratchet, or an angled elbow to get into the tight spots.

Mine snapped yesterday. Gonna order me a new one and tackle it. Thanks 👍 UPDATE: So I bought the cable from Toyota and started to follow these directions up until I started the back panel for the rear anchor. I figured out a way to not break the panel and not even a need to take anything out! All I did was not put in the front anchor so that I'd have some slack, pull pulled the door back, unbuckle the lower part of the panel only. The anchor cable would need to be cut, pull the lower part of the panel just enough to get your fingers into it, use a screwdriver to push the one side of the clip, fenagle your finger and push out the anchor. It's just enough empty space to hold the anchor to pull out. Since you have tons of slack on the new anchor, you slide it up, fanagle it back into the empty area on the left, then slide it into the anchor by pulling the cable. I was so happy I didn't need to break the panel. You can put the front anchor back in because there's some spring slack but I didn't want to damage anything just in case. I used my 10mm to release the front anchor holder since those two bolts are ridiculously exposed, locked the anchor in, held it in place to bolt it back on. That's it! I really hope this makes it so much easier for everyone else!

Thanks for the video!! Now I’m having another issue. My 2014 Sienna driver side slinder only opens 5 inches or so. I noticed a metal latch with a cable on the floor where the slider runs. That metal piece with the cable has no tension and it will just flop up and down. When it’s flush to the floor , door works fine. When it’s up a little it catches. Do we know what that piece is? Thanks for any info

I tooky van to get repaired after a minor collision and it came back with a defective passenger door. It won't open automatically by pulling the handle out BUT, it opens from the key fob and overhead button. It will also close automatically from the handle, key fob and button. It's bizarre. Think it could be the cable or something else?
