This is about Matty. There are so many pics of him in a suit and a tie and how the relationship was momentary and it was quick like the kind of relationships where you get so caught up in it and you talk about marriage and babies and she knew it was dying because his words weren’t matching his actions and he has the somber eyes. He got her by telling her she was the love of his life and in that legendary moment, she was.

Dude, if you arent familiar with the japanese female metal scene, you're in for a happy surprise. Not to diss the male side: the Japanese metal scene has been huge since the 1980s, but it used to be very insular. Few bands toured much outside Japan.

Not sure why some people link everything to Anime. This is metal and Nemophila are a metal band--one of the best. Thanks for checking it out, but stop with this lumping of "Japanese culture" into one bucket. It's much more complex than that.

Thanks for the comment! Sorry to offend. I only do that because most of my exposure to music like this is through anime so it just seemed similar to me. @@dethrowegamer1715 I agree 100% with Hiawatha but it's not just you. I enjoy watching reaction videos, particularly the first-time listeners to this exceptional female Japanese rock and metal. It didn't bother me before, but it seems like all the newbies now have some comment about the music sounding like anime music. Then the "vibes" start, reminding them of other bands, so it's starting to get old with me too. Whatever. If I'm gonna experience other first-timer's joy at hearing these great bands...oh, well. Try the other two of the "big three" female Japanese bands, Lovebites and Band-Maid. Lovebites is power, thrash, and symphonic metal with clean vocals. Try "Hammer of Wrath", "Break the Wall", or "Swan Song" with the Chopin intro (very important, the version from 2020 with the Chopin intro), all live. For MV's, try "Judgement Day" or "Glory to the World", or "Shadowmaker". Band-Maid is hard rock and is the band that got me hopelessly hooked on Japanese female rock and metal. Try "Hate?" or "Domination", both live. For MV's, try "Dice", "Blooming", or "Daydreaming". Then, you'll be ready for Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, Bridear, and many more.

Killer Guitar (KG) is a brand by ESP (as the principal brand) that is made in, and for JDM (Japanese domestic market). It was co-founded by ESP big endorser from Japan, guitarist for the legendary LOUDNESS, Akira Takasaki. SAKI had been using KG since day 1 of her professional career and AFAIK she is the first female guitarist who endorses KG. KG Fascinator Seven The Empress, the one she is using in this mv is her signature model... and you were right, that's a kill switch. The other guitarist Hazuki is an Ibanez endorser and is shown in this mv using one of the very highest quality instruments sold by Ibanez in terms of both components and workmanship, the j.custom series. Again, the J there indicates Japanese made and not only it is expensive but also very limited since j.customs are not mass produced like any other Ibanez series - and every single j.custom guitar is often made by only one master luthier, thus the limited in production.

Oh, he definitely used something like a deep fake (the way they still had a young Carrie Fisher appear in the last Star Wars sequel trilogy. 6:55 I don't believe he uses autotune at all (1. In 'Killshot', his response to MGk's 'Rap Devil' he goes at MGK for using autotune he isn't really one that would, especially on a diss track, have the "do as I say not as I do" mentality. 2. I've never recorded anything but do sing and have SOME grasp on the distinguishing features of especially the drop in a few of the more natural sounds and an unnatural sounding blend of more than 1 note. There's a drop in things like growls and vibratos and Em definitely has some growl...the whole cookie monster sound haha. And last but most telling, the lack of that robotic sound at the end of ohrasses/phrasing.) I like his voice myself. He has to have an incredible set of musculature in the tongue, neck etc and decent lungs given his ability with his crazy, acrobatic-stunt-type rhymes all while enunciating things clearly. He's got good dynamic control and this is especially beneficial to the changes in cadence and stresses etc that he's known. So, in a way, I think the years spent in the battle rap scene, then starting off in the more mainstream hip hop world helped him develop areas that have only helped his (singing) voice. 9:26 yep. At the beginning when Dre informs him there's a situation, the paper reads that a portal from 2002 has opened up. Slim Shady steps through it and as anyone from back then might, goes WTF is going on? And sets off to cause havoc as Slim is wont to do (and today being..today he and Dre set out to stop him before he gets 2024 Marshall cancelled. XD (Rapboy is his Robin-like alter ego who is often up against Slim shady such as in Without Me.

Some months ago a random pink-haired girl on TikTok called out Gen X for not speaking up about ... something. Millennials showed up as the voice of caution, reminding her that Gen X is the 'lost' generation for a reason, be quiet, let them stay lost ... but it was too late. Gen X had awoken, and made their way to TikTok to tell their stories - how the nightly news had to remind their parents that they even HAD children, how our playgrounds were made of steel and asphalt, how 5 year olds walked themselves the mile to school, how there was no such thing as a bike helmet, etc. Eminem's releasing this song is on the heels of that, and I feel like it's a commentary on what the present day looks like for someone raised back then, as well as a subtle reminder of how influential he has been and remains. There are so many people who don't know that obsessed fans are called "Stans" BECAUSE of Eminem. I think at the end it's a Gen X Ode to Not Giving a Single F*ck , and how we earned that right. Now, I'm not here for and I don't condone all of the problematic things Eminem said back in the day, or even in this song. I'm here for tolerance and kindness and inclusivity precisely BECAUSE I remember a time when those things were nonexistent. But when they wake up Slim Shady, they're going to GET Slim Shady, and they don't get to act surprised or be judgmental about it. That said, thank you for the reaction! As always, looking forward to more - I appreciate the variety you bring to us.

Unpopular opinion: paternity testing these songs detracts from their universal power and emotion. Taylor has said dozens of times that her hope is that when people hear her songs, it becomes about their relationships, not hers. Which is why, as a 62 year old man, her songs can bring me to tears and joy and take me on the journey with her.

Definitely about Matty 100%. She said it in the beginning of this song “your suit and tie” (same as TSMWEL: Jehovah’s Witness suit). He completely love bombed her from 2014-2023. She and Joe broke up, she ran to Matty. (“fresh out the slammer”). Matty is the tattooed man in the songs, he was an alcoholic, took pills, they wrote letters to each other for many years. She basically gave him the key to her heart and exactly what to say to her to make her fall in love with him because she confided in him about the troubles she and Joe had. Matty truly did talk extremely poorly/disrespectfully about Taylor during an interview he gave that was highly inappropriate (while they were dating!) but totally denying that he said any of it. Its literally still in print. 🙈 It’s such a beautiful song for a really awful person who doesn’t deserve this beautiful sounding song. He was absolutely her plan B after Joe. They talked about marriage, kids, everything. She was extremely excited. So she went through 2 huge breakups at the beginning of her Era’s Tour. No one really knows when she and Joe broke up (we think during Covid 2020-2021 due to the songs on Folklore that were supposed to be fictional). “You’re Losing Me” is a tie to her line in another song on this album that she says that she stopped CPR, a callback to that. Most of this album is about Matty. All but 3 are for Joe, 2 for Kim/Kanye and 3+/- about Travis. 2 definitely about him, and he’s indirectly mentioned at the ending of a few, too. I’m shocked that this album was basically for Matty. No one was privy to the fact that they stayed in touch after their rumored relationship in 2014. She sings that she wove him into many poems over the years. Knowing that “The 1975” has a hit song “Robbers”, a lot of songs from Reputation (and Evermore and Folklore) immediately came rushing into my mind. Ready for its bridge, the opening lines. Ugh. 🙈😫

Excellent reaction. The guitar Hazuki is playing is an Ibanez J.Custom RG8527. Fairly expensive, but I recently scored a used 6-string version of the same model (RG 8520) for a decent price. The other guitarist, Saki, is playing a Killer Fascist "The Empress" (her signature model). The "Killer" brand was created by Loudness guitarist, Akira Takasaki and is built and distributed by ESP. Unfortunately, Saki has recently left the band.

Thanks for the comment and info on the guitarists! I can really appreciate nice looking guitars so those caught my eye immediately. I cant wait to react to more of their music and get a better view at some of them!

Neh-Mo-Fee-La, not Fee-lia. Love this band, saw them live in NYC. One of the best live shows I've ever seen!!

Great reaction!....Nemophila (neh-moe-fee-la) is 🔥🔥🔥 Most people start with Dissention (MV, Japanese ver.) or Revive (MV) and then Adabana (MV), Rise (MV), etc. Here are suggestions based on Mayu's lead vocal style Cleans Raitei (Live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/aJWjycqCdbO1icY.html Seize the Fate (Live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/q61_qa1qg8iaktI.html Odyssey (MV) kzread.info/dash/bejne/fGyGysyKoKnMj7Q.html Life (live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/dayhrrGhdLnVqdo.html Cleans + Screams Revive (Live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/pmaZr9GEptbccqg.html Rise (Live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/dpV6sJeDZMy2fKw.html Dissention (MV) kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGqVr9eamNvgaMY.html Oiran (Live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z6V1pNCfc8vWks4.html Adabana (MV) kzread.info/dash/bejne/c6yNy7Gwo9icp7g.html Ama-Te-Ras (Live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/a2qAs8umgtSwl7A.html Screams Zen (Live) kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWWtssR7gqusndY.html 'Zen' (live), Oiran (live) and Dissention (MV) are some of their hardest and best songs 'Live' is an emotional 'ballad-like' song sung in the video as a 'welcome back' to Tamu (drummer) after her maternity leave. Great song and shows a completely different side of Nemophila. 'Ama-Te-Ras' is quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well And thanks once again to @DragonPhlyy for helping get the word out for this amazing group of ladies!
