It's one of the few bikes left that has the simple reliability and maintenance of a 1970's motorcycle. It delivers useful fun and great MPG while being able to go places no other Dualsport would even think about. The TW isn't about speed, it's about UTILITY. It's about pulling you out of a serious jam if you find yourself in one, and it'll do it for cheap so long as you don't abuse it and change it's oils and greases religiously. Great video, I love my 2013, wish I had more time to ride it since it's got less than 6K miles on it, but I won't ever sell it, nor will I sell my Suzuki DR650 either. I think between the two bikes I've pretty much got the apocalypse nailed down good.. Good luck with yours, and many many happy miles to you.

great, now make a video "Top 250 reasons the TW200 might be for you" ;-) 200cc - mod it, 250cc, wiseco piston, higher compression, will reach 140kph, fit a tubo even if you want. nobody should need or want ABS size... im 6'2"... could be smaller. suspension... thats a dual sport, nobody think it's cross, or mod it. im in thailand, saw 9 peoples on one... my take: best all-round bike ever made, didnt change since 1987 for a reason. (by the way if you rode that bike with the ridiculous 14/50T stock gearing, change that... thats a different bike) _

If the tank is dented, it's $600 dollars for a new one or you can go with a Clark for $250 (plus shipping), so factor that in. But other than that, forget about getting a used TW cheap. These things are pretty popular, and you'd literally have to set it on fire and then drown it in a lake to damage the engine. The main reason to buy used is you can avoid being wait listed, but you don't save a whole lot. The used market has seemed to inflate with new prices, which are up around 30% since covid and Bidenomics. The used market followed, such that folks who bought new in 2019-2020 can sell the bike used for all that they paid for it and sometimes more.

I am 76 years old, and I had a 94 XT 600. I was riding it last year on a 2 track, but when I went around a tree across the road, I got off-balance and tipped over. I was alone, (like I always am), it took me 25 minutes to figure out a way to lift that top-heavy, high-geared beast up. I went back to the truck, loaded it up, and went to my favorite bike shop and had him sell it. I found a new 2022 TW in Denver. They did not even have it in their possession yet, I bought it while it was still on the truck shipping it. I live in southern Idaho, so I made a little road trip. The only aftermarket thing on the bike when I bought it, was a battery charge indicator. It is also a 12 volt power tap. It has a flashing green LED if the battery is ok. It starts to flash an orange LED if the battery needs charging, and you can charge it right through the power tap. I started riding dirt\duel sport bikes in 1967. I love this little bike. It goes anywhere I need to go. Will it climb long steep hills? NO, it won't. Do I need to climb long steep hills? NO I don't. Some of the things that I have done to my bike are,; better foot pegs, a rear rack, a better tool kit, O-Ring chain, a Ricochet skit plate, 2 handlebar risers, (I am 6'3"), hand/lever guards, folding shift lever, home-made hand grips, and, I am in the process of putting a rear disc brake on it. I have some banjo bolts with bleeders coming today. I will use them to bleed the brakes. It is almost impossible to do that without them. I am also replacing the brake pads with sintered brass ones. The rear brake is the only issue that I had with the design of the bike. I love the simplicity of a carb vs electronic fuel injection. I do use Non Ethanol fuel, just like I do with all of my other carb engines. I would like to take, whoever decided to put Ethanol in our gasoline, and beat him with a bat until I was tired. When I was younger, I would ride my 86 XT 600 everywhere. I loved the power and the suspension, but with age (thank goodness) comes wisdom. This little 200 is all I need. It is far more capable than the rider. LOL Other than a few little jaunts to town and the hills around here, I do not need to ride it for long distances on the pavement. I went on a 120 mile ride yesterday, with 35 miles being rugged and the rest not. Next time I will trailer it to the rugged mountains, and then enjoy a nice relaxing ride home in my pickup, or my T Bucket. Both have hitches. I can see that with a 46 tooth rear it is nicer on the pavement, but I did not get it to ride on the pavement. The places that I still like to go are quite rugged, so I like the low gearing. I like your channel.

@User39. I installed the highest handlebar riser that I could find, and I wanted more, so I added another riser to the first riser. I can't go any higher because of the length of the cables and front brake hose, but it is ok with the 2 risers. I am impatiently waiting for spring so that I can ride it some more. It is snowing today here in Idaho. Thanks for reading my little novel. I did install the bleeder banjo bolts, and was able to bleed the rear brake. They work soooooo much better than the drum brakes. A little story, I was riding up a difficult road, and got out of shape and the bike went over backwards. My leg was under the bike, and from the position that I was in, I could not get into a position to lift the bike up off my leg. I did have my PLB with me, but I did not want to bring out search and rescue if I could help it. Thank goodness I wore my slip-on mini-boots that day, I was able to pull my foot out of my boot and get my leg out from under the bike. Also thank goodness that I was a ways up the hill, because the bike was definitely flooded. I went probably 100 yards with the engine turning over going down the hill before it started up. Ah, the perks of riding alone.

Where I live you can’t even find a used one, or a new one for that matter. What is the hold up on the new ones????? Why are there none around? They couldn’t possibly be selling thousands and thousands of them could they? I don’t get it. They must be selling well though.
