    it's interesting that your description of their functions differs from Cognitive Personality Theory's channel about the ISTP, because he explains that due to Ti-Ni, they WON'T be precise and instead be more general and vague with their knowledge. kzread.info/dash/bejne/g52uysGckde_Y5s.htmlsi=2mIZcUDEx8jiC22v

    Think a thought once is good. Also what are your main worries and what are you avoiding thinking about? For instance, debt. Get that big thing written down and strategies need to be implemented.

    uhm, idk i have had a habit of focusing too much on other people’s feelings and making sure they’re comfortable. like, giving somebody older my seat when i can automatically catch cues of them trying to find a seat w/o them mentioning it. i tend to lean towards making others feel very comfortable and lean away from my own comfort to be a “savior” to them. but i’ve recently been trying to also take care of my own inner world recently. 🤷‍♀️ i also tend to be really confused of my inner world and defining myself even though i’m too much in my head and write poetry to articulate my inner world more. it’s contradicting, so i’m confused and keep doubting myself with infp vs infj. even isfj sometimes smh. but what helps me differentiate me between isfj and infj is how i initiate the deep, intellectual conversations between me and my friend ALWAYS. still haven’t found THE difference beyween infj and infp.

    hearing you talk about “possibilites” itself scares me off. apart from that too, it became very clear to me that i’m an Ni. maybe it’s the fact that i grew up a perfectionist and non-risk taker too. however, i’m also interested in learning about the world and exploring all the knowledge that i can, but at the same, i don’t initiate that desire much and have a clear vision of what i wanna be and where i wanna be. (a neuropsychiatrist in a countryside, living an hour or so away from the city and commute to work while blasting music in my car- pretty visionary, no?) but now i’m slightly confused, as i also happen to feel the desire to wanna get up and leave (for the same visionary desire) and wanna always be “starting over”. delete my socials often, wanna change my perceivable personality traits more often, but at the core i’m still the same. (it’s just somedays i wanna be more confident, communicative, joyful etc) looowwwwkey confused now. but cool video overall. still very helpful :)) edit: 16:01 guess that last point kind of helps, as the reason i feel the need to discover so many different intellect related topics is due to the desire to understand life and the way the world works and enrich my lifestyle. it’s still much internally focused than externally. so i might still be an Ni and the last few minutes’ differences again make me feel Ni like the beginning of the video did. (this is much more a self-draft than an actual comment lol)

    Ni is turning inward to yourself for brainstorming ideas (possibilities), while Ne to turning outward to brainstorm for ideas(possibilities)? So in order to brainstorm with Ne, you get ideas by scrolling the Internet for example? While Ni, you just come up with ideas in your own mind?

    More interesting. It's only later in life that I started caring what other people thought of me, even to the point of not even fully understanding the shame that a girl expressed to me by ignoring my advances and having her clique reject me instead by bullying me for the rest of my time at that school; until I remembered that even happened a couple of years ago.

    ISTJ here, yes small talk is annoying and something I struggle with at work. I have made efforts to work on my 3rd and 4th parts of my personality but starting and keeping conversations going is a struggle. One thing I try to avoid in social situations but I seem to keep doing is the "introvert entrance/exit". I have been referred to as a cat and been told that I need to wear a bell because I will quietly enter a room or someone's personal space usually startling them. The exit is sort of a reaction to avoid the awkward ending of a conversation or when the conversation goes awkwardly quiet and involves quietly slipping away without a formal cutting off of the conversation. Think of the meme with Homer Simpson slowly slinking back into the bushes.

    Really insightful analysis. Thank you for sharing. One thing I did want to say is that I think sometimes when people talk about ISFJs, they think that ISFJs either value any and all traditions… or that they value traditions *because* they’re traditions. Really, I see dominant introverted sensing as much more personal than that in nature. It’s more a function that values what’s close to home. ISFJs especially aren’t going to value something just because it’s traditional; it has to be special *to them.* It’s really that specialness that causes their traditions, routines, values, etc. to last. I think this is one of the things that led me to mistype as INFP for a long time. Because traditions in and of themselves aren’t important to me for their own sake. I don’t value things just because they stand the test of time; they have to hit home for me personally.

    I have tested several times and several ways, including on line self administered to administered by a professional. INTJ, every time. Safe to say, I'm probably that? Anyway, I have struggled my entire life! I hate being around people, they are absolutely exhausting. I struggle with employment because of this, severe anxiety doesn't help. I am happiest alone, doing things, to learn new things. So last year I learned to grow tobacco, successfully. This year I built, not bought a still and ran my first batch, happily alone in the woods last weekend. I need help, I'm drowning in human disgust and introvertion.

  • @gracie_5
    @gracie_55 күн бұрын

    Masculine fi users think they have fe and feminine fe users think they have fi. Masculine fi is outwardly saying feeings and feminine fe has problems to verbalize there feelings externally

  • @gracie_5
    @gracie_55 күн бұрын

    If you are both, impulsive, reactive AND passive, likes comfort...good luck. Good in sport, also thinking of past. Forgetful (feminine sensory) and fast reaction like any human being has in danger. Highly sensitive, but sensation seeking too. Submissive, but seeing things best in the moment. Bored of too much calmness, but not interested in parties or loud noises around you. Cant read with focus if teachers and others talk near me. I think se and si plays without the feminine/masculine modalities, the place in cognition stance and combination with other cognitive functions fe, te, ne, ti, fi another reality in how it really plays out. Being conservative or loving history and antique things also dont mean to have si. To Dario Nardi, si first and si second users use different brain paths for example too You said "comfort" for si, but that gives a stereotype of dont putting risiko in things, people or life. Instead if an se dont builds step by step and reacts only to what they see, they build nothing in life. Every si users has also ne for newness and exitment.

    Ti function is often perceived as arrogance because we see problems and weaknesses and want to help fix everyone. We just have a hard time waiting for the invitation and request for help and instead offer our insights when we see an opportunity to present it. We’re not saying it because we think we’re better than anyone else. In fact, we want others to help us by doing the same. We’re often very insecure about identifying and improving ourselves, so we actually think we’re doing others a great service. Sadly, we find out the hard way that unwelcome and unsolicited advise is not something people want. Often, people don’t want others to solve their problems, they just want a sounding board. INFJs find this distinction difficult. We want to fix everything and everyone, and make the world a better place. This can be unhealthy as we can become codependents and enablers.

  • @chrissyuy
    @chrissyuy6 күн бұрын

    INFJs are targeted and preyed upon by narcissists. So once educated about this, we’re cautious about relationships and although uncomfortable, we’ll set up and enforce boundaries. Boundaries are challenging because we want to be inclusive with others, and we want to believe the best of others (ie., best intentions or make excuses for the bad behaviors of others).

  • @chrissyuy
    @chrissyuy6 күн бұрын

    Definitely selective about my close friendships. Some might even call it culling. We’d rather be alone than with people who drain us.

  • @chrissyuy

    Fe function for an INFJ is not about us being a chameleon, but rather, finding ways to connect with others, especially if we see someone who is left out. We desire to bring people together and to enjoin each others’ strengths for the betterment of the whole group. Not only for the sake of the people all feeling good and contributing, but also so the collaboration of many perspectives can bring about the best outcome. We see that many minds coming together can problem solve and troubleshoot many foreseeable issues vs the preventable disastrous outcome of ONE loud and forceful voice. For these reasons, we find it very important to draw in people with varying experiences, ideas, strengths, perspectives and encourage them to have a seat at the table. People bring a myriad of assets and resources to others. INFJs are often scouting and bringing these resources together, but in order to do this, we must listen, observe, find what motivates them, what interests them, etc. We also have a strong desire to help individuals, so we are often learning things they’re concerned about, and where their vulnerabilities lie, so we can help expose kinks in their armor. We like elevating, improving and encouraging those around us, so they’ll have confidence in themselves and what they can bring to the table. We have little to no tolerance for anyone who is working to exploit weaknesses, ostracize or belittle others. In fact, this is when you’ll feel our indignation and wrath! We’re reluctant dragon-slayers who are able to muster great courage when we’re found in the presence of bullies preying on the vulnerable!

    As an INFJ, the Ni function goals are not as clearly defined and pursued heavily, not because we are lazy or undisciplined. Rather, we’ve come to realize that it’s not the attained goal that gives us a sense of purpose, but rather the ideals included in those goals. So while Peace Corps might be a goal, we also know that it’s not going to be fulfilling to attain a certain milestone. We know we’re able to grow and change as we grow and expand. We might find it’s the idea of solving a community problem as the reason for that interest; but we might find that the corporation has flaws that are misaligned with our ideals. We focus more on the underlying draw of the calling more than the label it is given. For instance, an INFJ might say they want to be an artist, but what’s really at the root of this is the need for creative expression. So tangible goals can feel restrictive and even stifling if others think there has to be some sort of metric placed upon it. Bottom line: we don’t necessarily want to be defined by the occupation title, but by the pursuit of the ideals we value. These underlying values are what we pursue and the means by which we define our sense of fulfillment. Examples: Nurse vs nursing Minister vs encouraging/ healing Educator vs instructing/explaining/clarifying Artist vs creating Cook vs nourishing/healing Humanitarian vs problem solving We define ourselves by the actions we take based on our values, not by achieving a particular title, metric, certificate, etc. By the same token, it poses a great challenge when people ask about our occupations or goals based upon metrics we find meaninglessness (with the exception they’re required to hold a particular position, in which case we might pursue it not for the title, but to serve in a particular capacity). This, at least for me, is why INFJs find goal setting challenging. We’re simply not defined by them.

    I’m an infp. In theory I love infjs, but I’ve met about 3 in my life and I can safely say, when I’m with them, I find it too serious and heavy, not a practical friendship nor are they silly or fun to be with. I love the chats but only in bite sizes.
