I felt sorry for Alex Higgins, fantastic player. but had a mental low. the pressure was to much. Blessings Alex.
17 frames all and a black ball game and David Icke goes to bed before the end?
The first shot sums up var in a nutshell. It makes decisions more difficult not easier, it never works and the referee gets the last word. Simple, no need for var Goal line technology is enough Better for the referee too
the first shot on the black I think it missed if it had hit it the lights on the black would of moved and they never.
Does that mean every professional player that misses "easy" shots is a match fixer. I don't think so. How about some hard evidence like, money changing hands etc.
Got to be Jimmy whites missing the black when he looked like he had it
7:35 Shut up your cheating greedy scumbag!! Absolute wrong un!! It was clear after hearing off the record what a number of his fellow professional players said they knew for certain he was at it...
Lee v Higgins....no thank's both as bent as each other!! These 2 commentators obviously knew but couldn't say anything
I lived in Sheffield at the time and was at the crucible Steve Davi’s did not lose the title he gave away under hearts orders to help the game grow in Ireland simple .
Tony Knowles miss pink. ! Biggest miss in Snooker History !
What a chance for Tony Knowles to reach 1983! Final. !
What about Ken Doherty's miss on the final black for his 147 break?
The words on the loathsome Alex Higgins's gravestone should be 'He couldn't cheat this'.
Fantastic - I so wish even today that Fred had potted that pink after that wonderful blue, a having played so beautifully throughout the tournament.
Chamberlain was right not to clean the ball…Shelby new it was tight and was trying to get an advantage
Literally got goosebumps again from Taylor v Davis. 39 years ago I was a ten year old allowed to stay up and watch that. Wow.
Dear old Fred Davis, a WWII veteran, 8-time world champion. Some 22 years after his last title remarkably reached the ‘78 semi-final aged 64.
BOTH cheats, both should be in jail
I heard him called green and im 300 miles away 😅
Ronnie playing with both hands is not against the rules.
Neither Steve Davis's missed black or Jimmy's missed black were gimmes. Regarding the latter, I remember watching it live and feeling that Jimmy left himself a touch high on the black. A pro would knock it in 8/10.
The black Davis missed was nowhere near as easy as people think. That's a tricky pot
Do you think in 2024 a 65 year old could reach the semi final? Show how the standard has risen. Please dont say Ronnie, even Ronnie at 65 wouldnt be able to compete.
I don't think Knowles was that good in the main.
Jimmy white lost another classic match in the world snooker final because he can not focus properly in the heat of battle against the best snooker players of all time davis and hendry. They have both got nerves of steel. 0n his tombstone will say greatest player never to have won the world snooker title. In the world seniors tournament jimmy was the champion reason being it was a very short match.
Never mind the smoking, Bill Werbeniuk drank God knows how many pints of lager in tournaments and claimed back a tax deduction on it as being a necessary medicinal control of some condition he had (that the tax man eventually caught up with him)
Thank goodness snooker commentary has improved.
you think>?
@@spleeeen4it - yes
How did Higgins get away with cheating and getting videotaped by undercover journalist and lee got banned?
40 years later on youtube we can hear him calling the green but they did', hear it 🙂🙂🙂
Dont know why Higgins is so shocked he's one of the biggest cheats and is still playing 🙄
If only Fred potted that pink he may have got to the final and won his 9th world title beating Ray in the final.
The biggest mistake in snooker was when the canteen at the crucible served STEPHEN LEE a salad
Fred Davis reaching that semi final is the greatest achievement in snooker
1985 was the first final I remember watching with my late dad... Great memories....Well played Dennis.
Needed to make an appointment to see Fred Davis' shot. He took forever aiming and actually committing to shoot the ball.
Ive just worked out why o sullivan won seven World championships.hes ambidextrous so technically he should have won the seven quicker than hendry. I know why he didn't. Hes not consistant and hes a knob
After all them sad moments for snooker players, then they do the worst at the end, putting mcguigan on , 😔🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️
So many players do it the same ,why just lee get investigate
Wish the cueball would find it's way down John Virgo's throat, and shut him up !!! Ruins the World Championship every year
Alex smoking 🚬 🤣
Here for the fat Allen moment 😂😂😂 love it!
How do you prove someone of match fixing vs just playing poorly?
It's the betting patterns that flag up certain matches, then those matches are looked at
@@Yip-us7wg couldn’t it just be coincidence? Is that enough to be evidence? Unless of course his wife placed the bet 😂 Pardon my ignorance.
@@avarmauk no coincidence, what gave it away was when he postman 15 cousins and his 94 year nan put her life savings on the other player
@@Yip-us7wg aah haha. Yeah that’s pretty incriminating
Joe Johnson s potting was ridiculous ,amazing to watch him become world champion
How slow are these players from back in the day. What a miserable spectacle
What a character Fred Davies was always smiling
Fred Davis was 64! When he got to the Semi-finals of the 1978 Snooker World Championships. Mind blown!
Beat a peak Dennis Taylor in getting there too long past his own peak imagine how well he would have done if he was 30 years younger 😮
This might also blow your mind: Fred played against Ronnie in '92. He played his final game in the '93 World Championship!
@@Cannibalable Even took a frame off him too.
BRUTAL mistakes ..are you kidding watching snooker IS BRUTAL..his cheeks puffed out wow ..
tony “the stud” knowles probably had money riding on that miss….just sayin like
Yeah cliff was on the packet.doing Lester pig got talk
Jimmy missing the black against Hendry after all that time trying, hurts me still watching it, can only imagine how he feels..🥺
Jimmy missed a red with the rest against Alex Higgins in the 1982 semi final. Had it gone in he would have won that match and likely beaten Ray Reardon in the final. What might have been.
