    Very nice but the meat turn out great. Did you had to burn the inside paint, sand, and wash it to make it clean for safety?

  • @OptimisticGarage
    @OptimisticGarage29 күн бұрын

    Yes fill it with wood and burn for a few hours. All the interior exterior paint will burn off. Then wire wheel everything. Once complete you have a bare metal barrel. Use a high temp paint to coat the outside and spray Pam or olive oil on inside to prevent rust. Once you start using it you will build up a nice char inside that protects metal

    I have this exact machine and I just got it playing again. This machine hasnt been played in over 35 yrs. Ive always wanted to get it running and decided to start working on it. Ive replaced the rectifier board and repinned the molex connectors to the rectifier board, I also replaced the mpu-200 and sb-300 boards with nvram boards, replaced the solenoid driver board with an alltek board. Im about to replace the lamp driver board with an alltek driver board and ordered an LED kit for the machine as well. I need to get new score displays as well but have been thinking about getting blue displays instead of the stock amber ones. I was looking for a set of direct replacement ones that come pre-assembled.

    Careful with led lighting in these old games. Sometimes looks off but it’s personal preference too. I recommend clear coating the backside of the back glass to keep it from flaking off. Also led in back glass simply to reduce the heat. Love the game. Have you seen the short video from the 80’s about this game. Search on KZread it’s kinda neat.

  • @humanoid7765
    @humanoid77652 ай бұрын

    @OptimisticGarage The backglass is already flaking before I even touched it LOL. I'm sure this kit will be way better than the bulbs in it now. A lot of them have flaky sockets and corroded sockets as well. Going to try and use a dremel and 443 wire brush bits to clean them. I have seen a few videos on the galaxy and I found out that the galaxy was the first machine to introduce seperate general illumination (GI) system and Williams came out of retirement and built a few pinball machines for stern and galaxy was one of them.

    Check out John McK 47 video library here on KZread for some basic safety information on these heaters. You're definitely going to need to get the combustion exhaust and intake routed outside this case or you will certainly melt down the plastic , wiring and circuitry. That exhaust will be >500F when running on high. The exhaust should be routed on a descending path to allow the condensate to drain or it will corrode from the carbonic acid in the condensate. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mWRr27iuisXQo6g.html

    There is a funny thing about Tyre Sizes; They are measured in millimetres, inches and a ratio. 205(mm)/75(%)R15 have a smaller diameter (689mm/27.13") than 235/75R15 tyres (734mm/28.94"). This will give you (about) one extra inch of ride height and give you (about) one less inch of clearance to the fender/mudguard). It will (obviously) also affect the width of the wheel in the guard, but also the unsprung weight.

  • @SalvoDan
    @SalvoDan3 ай бұрын

    I like the idea of a central beam running all the way from the hitch/coupling to the rear tie bar/crossmember. A single length of RHS (rectangular hollow section) is the most convenient and if it has a 50mm ID (internal dimension), it could also function as a hitch receiver for a bike rack or recovery point. It is an easy retrofit that gives a little bit of extra strength to a DIY repaired trailer, while adding only a little bit of extra weight. It also provides a much safer cable run for the electrics, and the hitch receiver at the end provides a central tie-down/recovery point if something bad happens to your trailer.

    in order for it not to be dangerous to use, you will have to get the exhaust and the muffler out of the box. and get the rest of the exhaust heat-safe in the box with the heat-safe the exhaust pipe otherwise it will all end up burning down. as the exhaust before the muffler becomes red hot and the muffler also gets very very hot, I have installed many of those heaters in trucks and buses, and most of the times that they burn the buses off is because someone (not knowledgeable) has installed them incorrectly behind the bus. so diesel and engine oil have come out all over the exhaust and muffler (so every winter it has been a big firebomb they have lit underneath)😊 . but keep on with the ideas!😊

    I got fed up after replacing the vacuum pump a couple of times and no fuel draw. Installed an electric fuel pump low pressure from Amazon and now it starts every time. I do have a large fuel filter coming from the tank and a smaller one just before the carb. Starts even in the cold even with no choke. Before this, even with starting fluid (ether) it wouldn't start. Now I run only ethanol free gas as well. A litlle more money but makes for peace of mind. Debris floating around in your tank can cause havoc with plugging fuel lines as well.
