thanks bud, I also really like the way that sounded playing it slow. I have loved this song for years, going to venture out into the deep and take that banjo out and start to learn to play it. I met Peter Rowan one time, he said he wrote Midnight Moonlight trying to learn the Carter Family Wildwood Flower. Cuckoo Bird is magical, its like connecting to something old. can't describe it

The chords are E, A minor and B minor 7th. I’m fingering the E and Am with just two fingers, my middle finger mashing two strings. The Bm7 is just the second frets of the 5th and 3rd strings. That chord really makes the song.

Gonna build me a log cabin on a mountain so high, So I can see Willy, as she goes on by. Oh, the cuckoo, she's a fine bird, she warbles as she flies; She'll never howl cuckoo Till the fourth day of July. I often have wondered what makes women love men, Then I step back and I wonder what makes men love them. Jack o' diamonds, Jack o' diamonds, I've known you from old, You robbed my poor pocket of silver and gold. I played cards in England and I played them in Spain, I bet you ten dollars I'll beat you this game.
