my energizer has built in lightning protection
And how well does that hang on during high wind? How long do these last out in the elements?
i booought the p2 seems to works just fine for my goats. however iw ant you to show me the amount of shock it gives out. so i tripple dog dar eyou to stick your tounge on it. no MAN can not do it. so comeone show me how well it works.even my goats want to watch
Exactly what I was wanting to do. Thanks
awesome tip
Poor video details and demonstrator is so anti-septic!
Pointless and meaningless video
Is the sum bih solar or battery powered or what?

Super, thanks for smart film.
Does the fence wire have to be a complete circuit?
No as long as the ground wire is earthed well the hot wire can be just a length of wire that ends.
Yess thank you! This is so much help

Possibly the worst informative video ever
Well that's dumb invention. So if dies it's working great. Just simply make a unit that Flashes so you can visibly see it is working. When it's not flashing, go check .
Is ok to connect a aluminum poliwire to a galvanized 14 gage wire
Cheers mate!
Thanks so much!
Cheers, helped me as well.
I call these daisy wheels, didnt know there was another name
How much poly wire requires more than one ground rod?
How much wire you need?
I tried to crimp new galv wire, but it keeps slipping when tension is applied. I think it might be because of the high content of galvanized coating on the wire. Is there any way around this? so as to use crimps on brand new oval wire? Thanks!
So what most people are looking for is a complete install in mainly just some kind of a diagram that shows if you just post to run the wire down the fence row through the plastic pieces than backup video 6" on top I would assume and then back down to the other terminal
I never thought of that. Thanks
You guys have a serious quality control issue with your product, I have purchased 4 of your PE2 units and two of them were bad right out of the package. They would only push voltage about 4 feet out of the unit before the "shock" wasn't noticeable. I am using a 3/4 inch 8 foot long copper clad steel ground rod and the unit is only 12 inches away from the rod. My fence is only about 40 feet long and I have almost nothing at the end.
At 2:27, I envision a dog or coyote paw or teeth getting in the pin and pulling it out. Yes? No?
No its slotted in next to the wires
@@user-wickedflower - the way he slides it in so easily, it looks like it would slide out easily. when you say it's slotted in next to the wires, how does that prevent it being pulled out by a dog or coyote's paw or teeth?

Sounds real good but it will never happen. I've been fixing ele. fencers for 40 years and have never seen lightning hit the fence and burn up the charger. It WILL hit the ground rod and come in that way. Simple law of physics. Lighting always follows the least resistance to ground. We all learned this in 6th grade science class. If the fence is working, it's not grounded. If there's a short in the fence it will go to the short instead of the charger. The worst thing about lightning is the electro magnetic radiation produced by the bolt of lightning. EMR is the same energy as produced by an atomic bomb, and doesn't even have to hit the fence, charger, or ground rod. Just get close and it will render the solid state electronics, in the energizer, inoperative. I've seen it many times. Open the fencer up and it looks undamaged. No burnt smell and appears to be good. Replace the solid state components on the board and it will work again. SCR's, voltage regulators, and timer transistors and IC's will be trash. I've debated this point for many years but to no avail. Go ahead, spend your money, these companies will gladly take it. That's how they make their money.
Our chargers have exploded into smithereens because of lightening. You are totally incorrect.
Sir how much eletrice fence mesin but sells in Nepal.
Do you often have trouble with these units? I have a good ground. I have hooked my electric fencing wire to the hot lead. All connections are tight. But although it is working it is very weak. The goats react slightly when they put their nose on the wire but it does not affect them when the rest of their body touches it. The indicator light flashes but it is not a strong light and the unit does not click.(should it). Could it be defective?. I only have about 250 meters of fencing and the unit is new.
Thank you sir, that was the tip I was looking for. Makes sense.
Does it work with high tensile barbed wire
Wow!! This video was pointless. I've never done this before. Way to really give details on this. Thanks

Thank you, that answered my question. Short and sweet. Great video!
Worthless video. I need instructions...what do I use for a ground rod? I know nothing about this. I'm a 71 year old single woman. I can easily learn, but to do that I need instructions!!!!!
Here's a better video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mH6fxqupotC6hNo.html BTW is your name really Karen? I wonder if you are going to call the manager at Patriot. 😂
What keeps the brace from moving on the pad?
The brace is made solid by the in-line strainer that he mentioned. Wish he would have showed that final step. Wrap a smooth wire loop around the upright post and the bottom end of the brace (notch this), and tighten the ratchet. It won't move.
doesn't strain as tightly as other devices
I don't think that is the case. He is not ratcheting it down this is more for demonstration than anything.
Do you have a link to the diverter shown in the video?
So much for learning about the complex portion such as grounding requirements and such.
Try this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/loWrltlyh8q-k7Q.html It's a video of the fence with some dancing thrown in.
@@sdrfz amazing, thank you
I a patriot. If doing one fence, do I have to run 2 wires so It can "return"? I'm confused. also, am I going to have to "water" the fenceline for the dogs to recieve a shock? we get about 9 inches of water per year here, we are on the dry side of washington.
Hi Dawn,Thank you for contacting us. You do not have to have two wires on your fence. You can have all hot wires or hot/ground wires. If you would like to have 1 hot wire that is fine. The voltage will run from the energizer to the hot wire through the ground and back to the ground rod. The animal will receive the shock when it touches the hot wire. Sometimes people use one hot and one ground to improve their ground system. A good conductive ground system is necessary for your system to work well. If your soil is not very conductive there are some things we can do to improve the ground system. In a Patriot brochure we show you how to "check" your ground system. A poor ground system will have more than 300-400 volts on the ground rod when tested. A good ground system will have less than 400 volts. The more voltage on your ground system will take away from voltage on your fence. Once you install your fence you can check the voltage with our electric fence digital voltmeter. This will give you a digital voltage reading of your fence and ground. Please feel free to contact me direct at [email protected] or 800-74-8494 x 242. Tammy Parish
Good simple explanation to a complicated electrical principle. Adjusting the gap has been addressed perfectly.
Great video. I want to post it on www.patriotchargers.com
