    Great video man! I have the same van and ideas! same water tank! I want lots of cargo space for my scooter and bicycle etc..My bed will have wood sluts from ikea and I will use 80/20 3030 series hinge. Airline tracks on the bottom ,maybe at the top too.

    Great water system setup. Couple of suggestions: At 13:10, it's best not use the Teflon tape on the 3/8" connections. Those generally come with a dedicated gasket, and Teflon would interfere with the seal. Also, it's pretty handy to install a 6" access hatch to the tip of the tank. This makes cleaning and servicing the tank much easier. And if you do this in the beginning, it also makes getting the plastic shavings out easier. Otherwise really good approach!

    Thanks for all the great ideas, your videos have helped me so much! After two years, how has the setup been? Mainly curious if you've had any draining issues without having a vent on the tank?

    Oh nice! I didn’t see that you were using it in the video. Are you using it now? I’m trying to map out how I’d want to route a hose through the van if I do use a vent

    Great video and installation! only one mention with these tube colour tubes is low quallity and you will have problems very soon . These tubes became very dry and broke. Better use a ppr tube.

    At 19:00 I would definitely use steel cable ties for that support. That no-grommet metal passage will definitely wear through the plastic tie in time.

    Great video!! I have a question. I have a new 2023 Transit HR 148. The build sheet says nothing about an auxiliary fuel port. Does that mean that I need to install that port into some part of the gas tank prior to the work that you have described here/ Maybe I missed something. I'm now following.

    Thanks for this video Rich, it was super helpful for my harness reroute. Regarding the connector behind the rear side panel I made a short video showing how to get to it in detail. Hope this is helpful for folks. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYSW2dOzk8LFYpc.html Also for anyone considering whether or not to attempt to do this job it really isn't too difficult. Seems worth it to me to make installing cabinetry and rear doorframe paneling easier. Took me a few hours.

    RichBuilt -- Thank you for the video! I used it to install my gasoline heater. Now that you've had your heater a while, what is your experience? Mainly, how if that AUX port working? Some people are reporting issues with reliable fuel delivery, have you had any issues?

  • @RichBuilt
    @RichBuilt6 ай бұрын

    Thanks Peter, the only thing I would change is to better protect the fuel filter lines and connections under the van. It was hit a few times by rocks and had to be replaced. Maybe wrapping in heat wrap or tucking away better would help

    Hey Larry, check to see if your connection is secure. The other thing I would check is to see if you need a special harness. I can't recall now that it's been so long.

    I'm surprised that the auxiliary fuel port for gas is yellow and blue for diesel as you stated. A Diesel pump at a gas station is indicated by yellow and the 5gal fuel containers for diesel are also yellow. And because they are designed for diesel they are made of a thinner gauge plastic because they can be from a safety perspective.

    One point that is important for those who may want to do something similar to what rich did, make sure you put foam neoprene or another liner between anywhere two points of metal contact each other. If you fail to line any of the 8020 with a foam liner or silicone you will get horrible rattling in your van while you drive. I copied what rich did and I'm having to redo everything and add neoprene foam everywhere to get rid of all the rattling while I drive.

    I wish that you explained more about setting up your gland to pass the wires through the roof. The light bar I got has two huge connectors on both ends so I’m thinking I’m gonna have to cut and slice those wires because I can’t fit them through any gland with the connector on.
