We have flat fees based on an estimated number of hours for each part of the event. If someone only needs us to find a venue or caterer, they are only charged for that time as a flat fee.
I like the comment about 40% of invitees not showing up...we did have an even where the owner spent a fortune and the guest didn't show up so they had half of the tables empty and wasted so much money preparing for so many people.
I'm so sorry to hear that! Following up multiple times and through various channels, and getting RSVPs can help.

My novel Carnian Street was published 6 weeks ago and I''ve been left baffled about how to go ahead with a promo event. Thank you for this upload!
Congratulations on publishing your book, and good luck with the primo event!
Loves these tips! All these tips were great! My favorite tip was to invite press and the 5 W’s.
Sp glad you liked them!
Unfortunately, this video did not tell anything about how which is what was in your title. It really did not explain anything. Sorry but that’s my comment.
Hi Kevin, this was the very first video to our channel nearly 10yrs ago, and we had tech issues, so there are 2 other videos that go with this one. Watching them all paints a better picture 😀
Great Video!
Thank you!
Mam I Am from india i want start new event business i hot so muchi information from this event cesaion, thanks yo Regarding by KASI.
Hello My name is Cheryl Randall, I am from Exmore, VA , I am sure where to begin
Our videos are a great place to start. Also, check our site for more resources eventplanningblueprint.com
If the food comes from outside the venue should it be free for the organizer because this is an opportunity for the caterer to show off their food?
No, the catering company needs to make money to stay in business
Thanks. This got down to the nuts and bolts of screening vendors and starting relationships. I'm also wondering: Where exactly do you go to find event vendors? Anywhere other than Google and event industry networking groups (e.g. MPI)?
Those are two of the best and easiest ways, so start there!
This was so informative, thank you for all these nuggets I hadn't taken into consideration. 🌄
You're welcome!
HDMI to VGA adaptors DO exist... I have one
👍🏻
This is very great for me. I have been in Event Planning and Management since 2012. This video session just shed a lot of light to what have been doing over these years and how to define myself/company and brand moving forward and also how to charge&delegate responsibilities according to skills and strength. Thank you so much. Seyifunmi from Nigeria
You're welcome

Very practical. Thank Melannie. I would like to be in touch with you organizing bigger conferences like the General Assemblies for Heads of State, Government, First Ladies, Ministers. Their aspect is quite difference although more less same template but more details. I have done that for 27 years.
You're welcome

I'm learning alot as a new event planner
Glad to hear it! Check out our courses at eventplanningblueprint.com/courses
Thank you for this video! I work at a university running Esports events. I sort of fell into the job, I'm not naturally a planner or a producer of events but I've had to learn the skills. At times my duties are very ambiguous and I just have to fill the role required of me regardless of what it may be. I know how to do the it work, broadcasting work, tournament organizing, and more. I didn't know the difference between products and planning until I watch some videos on event organizing. Then I searched the difference between the two and your video popped up. Being able to differentiate the two will hopefully lead to less stress and perhaps I can delegate some of those duties. I may also be able to ask for better pay since I'm doing two people's jobs.😅🙏🏽
So glad you found the video and I hope it helps you delegate and ask for a raise!
This is a great separation and definition of the 2 categories although as an audio engineer in live event production turned event planner and business owner of my own event company, I’d say creativity is a huge component in both roles. We specialize in purpose driven events for businesses & nonprofits and we have found that many of our clients lean on our creativity throughout the process of planning their event. That said, as a former engineer, it’s always fun to work with my production partners and drum up fun special features for the clients that make their events pop!
👍🏻
Can't wait to get started ty
You're welcome 😊
Good one dear
thank you very much, I learned a lot of interesting and informative things, everything was clear. I have a question for you, is it possible to independently study for an event manager for online courses plus all kinds of training videos, will this be enough? is it possible to study without a higher education ? Thank you
It certainly is and we have such course :) eventplanningblueprint.com/howtobeaneventplanner
Thank you, I'll follow link
Do event producers earn good money?
I am looking for sponsors for a private 30th birthday party with around 50 guests and I am struggling a bit with how to approach potential sponsors. Any recommendations? I thought about doing a short motivational video or onepager ... What do you think about that ?
awesome
