I love George, but being in a band with him would’ve been a chore.

Someone who say that the "Extra Texture" is a bad album doesn't know music. "This Guitar" is precious, "Can't Stop Thinking 'bout You" is the best song that George made after All Things Must Pass album and "The Answers At the End" is a fantastic song.

I really liked Give My Regards To Broadsreet. It had some killer hooks and overall told a story of sorts. For a few years after it came out it was one of my favourites.

Wild Life is great for what it is. Half the songs feel very unfinished and raw, but that's also the beauty of it. The songs wild life, tomorrow, you are my singer and dear friend are all songs I really love. I don't think this album deserves to be considered one of his worst. It's definitely on my top 10 paul mccartney albums. But that's obviously just my opinion.

I love Paul Mccartney 80s albuns, "Press to Play" is one of my favorites. Including the bonus of the era. SO many beautiful and inspired melodies. I don´t care much for "Mccartney II", though

It's ALL personal opinion. No one has the right to say some is good or bad. If I love Press to Play" does that make it a good album? To me, Yes. Some people hate anything Paul McCartney releases. That's their "OPINION", nothing more. Like here on this video... You are talking about 'SALES' NOT THE ACTUAL mUSIC ON THE ALBUM. Please do NOT assume just because of SALES an album is good or bad. Someone out here might Like or even Love that album.

Good summary. No one seems to remember this but that (unnamed) album was actually getting ready to be released in the fall of 1987 as mentioned by Mark Lewisohn in the very much "official" Beatles Monthly 09/1987 edition, along with All the Best (with Waterspout as a bonus) as well as and a single...that seemed like a lot but I have the scanned article to prove it!

A commenter mentioned the Yes Men around McCartney. How might he have better dealt with the inevitable sycophancy of his employees, musicians and even his producers? I watched the 'Out There live at Tokio Dome, Japan 2013' video recently and it begins with a rather terribly harmonised practice-sing with his group and as he walks through the corridors to the stage, everyone he sees almost falls to the floor in worship. How does an artist in that situation stay an artist and not become a vapid entertainer?

I was a huge, HUGE, Paul McCartney fan up to Silly Love Songs, then I I thought oh sh*t this doesn’t bod well. London Town, Tug of War, Back to the Egg I tried, I really really tried to like but couldn’t and I just gave up. The Police, Peter Gabriel, Micheal Jackson, and a whole bunch of other incredible acts came online and competing for my $15 bucks on the new fangled CD and Paul was just sad to my ears, the irony is these acts owe so much to him and his three friends that gave him “a little help”. Oh well it’s all there to enjoy or not. Music is very democratic.

For some reason, I decided to get into The Beatles when I was 50. I listened to everything with an open mind and I think Magical Mystery Tour is a stellar album. I think I had to emotionally be more mature as I really thought that bands like The Beatles or The Beach Boys were just bandwagon pop. I didn't think they were so powerful culturally. So many bands now got inspiration from The Beatles. I would give MMT a 9.5/10.

Billy Shears, aka William Campbell was the heart & soul of Sgt. Pepper & The Return ot Pepper-Land Billy is brilliant, arrogant, and a bit smug with other musicians. Makes others accountable for his high standards, for Billy can read, produce, arrange, was more proficient in playing piano, keyboards, horns, strings, bass, guitar, drums & percussion, who knows what sound he wants. Billy's attempt to Pepper Land, was a reminder that Billy's Back.
