8 tracks from this 1955 session were released on the CD "Skillet Licker Music: The Tanner Legacy 1955-1991 by Gordon Tanner & Gid Tanner" in the 1990s. I recommend it, if you can find it these days. The sound in the 1955 session isn't great and has these talking titles, but the music is good and loose and a joy to listen to. I think Earl Johnson was sitting in with them also. There are also some later sessions from the 70s and 80s on it, but the 55 session was the best.

wonderful and absolutely perfect fiddlers convention and thank you for the wonderful convention and thank you for the wonderful you-tube. I don't play old time music, but I absolutely love the music and I extremely think mountain or old-time music is the most perfect music of Chattanooga. Actually I think old-time music isn't "old-time" because I think it is currently the most wonderful music of Chattanooga. Thank you again for the really perfect convention and the really perfect you-tube.

Steve, I believe the actual name of the tune is plain old "Liberty" as it's named on the label of their recording of it on Columbia 15334-D. The longer phrase most likely comes from McMichen introducing it "as the tune you've all been callin' for-*Liberty* off of the Corn Licker Still. Among older fiddlers I ran across 20-30 years ago, it was often called the old-time Liberty. As opposed to the later tune popularized by Bob Wills, Tommy Jackson, etc.

Gid Tanner sings here, so it might be a second film part of ''Birmingham Special"(1:51) or part of I Don't Love Nobody (2:37) or Soldier's Joy (1:20). Regarding Audio parts, Joe Young's recordings was given to Art Rosenbaum, so there is a small chance the University in Georgia has more in archives.

This track when complete is 1 min and 51 seconds ''Birmingham Special" ( Tanner's Boarding House & The G-Rag, as noted in the comment by Benjamin Stone). The lead fiddle is shared with his very talented son Gordon. J.T. Wright - fiddler, is announced in Joe Young's introduction, but according to the notes he didn't play at the session. The electric guitarist in the film is Jack Harris. Full credit listing is announced by Joe Young to the first tune ''Mississippi Sawyer". Look for the other film clips posted by ''oldchattanooga'' , no audio yet, but they are worth watching!

I have heard rumor of a film clip of the entire Skillet Lickers playing together that was shown before movies to advertise their tours in the early days of "talkies", around 1930 or so. If this ever really existed, it has since been lost.
