wonderful and absolutely perfect fiddlers convention and thank you for the wonderful convention and thank you for the wonderful you-tube. I don't play old time music, but I absolutely love the music and I extremely think mountain or old-time music is the most perfect music of Chattanooga. Actually I think old-time music isn't "old-time" because I think it is currently the most wonderful music of Chattanooga. Thank you again for the really perfect convention and the really perfect you-tube.

Steve, I believe the actual name of the tune is plain old "Liberty" as it's named on the label of their recording of it on Columbia 15334-D. The longer phrase most likely comes from McMichen introducing it "as the tune you've all been callin' for-*Liberty* off of the Corn Licker Still. Among older fiddlers I ran across 20-30 years ago, it was often called the old-time Liberty. As opposed to the later tune popularized by Bob Wills, Tommy Jackson, etc.
