I can't handle recaps of life/ flashbacks in movies. Like this one or the one in American beauty. They just hurt so much. This ending along with the ending to there will be blood and a river runs through it are my absolute favorites

The whole movie is David's imagination / hallucination while in a coma on heavy medication in ICU following the car crash. If you've witnessed someone in ICU they're routinely given heavy medication that causes hallucination the viewer is effectively experiencing what David is experiencing through the whole movie

We see ourselves in this film as something that was left behind when in fact every minute that passed was a chance to change everything forever 💔 I was too cowardly to do what I knew was right, just as I was too cowardly to avoid doing what I knew was wrong. Everyone who sees this film has the feeling that they lost someone in their life when they got into that car and now it's too late so it remains to be said See you in another life when we are like cats. 😔

A beautiful ending to a great underrated film. I could never understand why the reviews were so mixed. I've always had the unpopular view that this film is better than the original 'open your eyes'. Tom Cruise is perfect in this role, Jason Lee, and Cameron Diaz also great and the New York background is perfect. I also love the soundtrack. The only thing I ever thought was mildly bad about this is its on a bit too long. I think about 20 minutes could easily have been chopped out without having any negative impact.

I watched this just yesterday. Not a usual movie that's for sure. BUT. as a diehard movie fan the soundtrack was trash. Immediately after the ending I rolled back to this last scene and replaced the background music with Thomas Newman's Spacewalk score from Passangers. I can tell you, that was the one that hit ultra hard. That much a soundtrack does to the emotions portrayed in a movie.

Years ago I met a girl at the bars with some friends who was visiting from out of town. We hated each other at first but by the end of the night we clicked and went back to my place. We spent the entire night together. It wasn’t just physical but emotional in a way I cannot explain. It didn’t feel real and have yet to experience that level of intensity again. I genuinely believe what made that whole experience other worldly was the fact we were never able to replicate it due to living on a opposite sides of the world. The fantasy of not knowing what could’ve been can cripple you if you’re not careful. I am just grateful to have experienced that intense level of happiness but know it’s only a once in a lifetime experience. If heaven does exist I hope it’s a never ending state of that night with Maddie

“Look at us, Im frozen, you are dead.. and I love you” this movie always made so emotional. This sentence reminds me of my ex fiancée who passed away 8 years ago in a car accident. He’s gone and I will be forever frozen in the memories of us and thinking how life would have been if we actually had gotten married and live life together. This movie is so beautiful!! A truly masterpiece in every way
