Hi, diamond paste on a bronze disc?
@kristofsom1822Ай бұрын
@@andrisgulbis9677 hi, yes, but a thin paper layer as well to hold the paste itself. Bronze is the dead flat surface.

@@kristofsom1822 I didn't even know it was possible, I'll try the same....I applied diamond paste to the copper disc, but there was a lot of dirt. After all up buying a yellow diamond rubber disc from aliexpress for 15 euros. Sorry for my bad english

@@andrisgulbis9677 the paper is nessesery, it can take the paste, brass can't. This methode is way cheeper than the originel GRS yellow disc. And both do the same job.

@@kristofsom1822 Thank you for your help and clarification, I will try what you are doing. Can you tell me if the paper is special or regular printer paper?
@kristofsom1822Ай бұрын
@@andrisgulbis9677 it is slightly thicker than a printing paper, I have no specific information of it. You have to test them, after 3-4 different one you will find the right one I'm shure. Don't use so thick like a watercolour paper, the graver would sink into that low density paper and it makes the edge rounded.

Hello. After matting, with what degree do you pass the side walls?
@kristofsom1822Ай бұрын
Hi, it depends on the space I have but usually 90°, if there's no place 80°. Mind that I use the Lindsay system, with the GRS measurement the 90 is only 80°. This is a measuring difference between the two system.

Hello, unfortunately gold is too expensive to experiment with, what can we use to inlay yellow color instead of gold. Solid brass is a very hard material and I can't experiment with it. If it is a mixture, please write the metals and the proportions.

Hi, well if you engrave in brass you can use tin for the colour contrast. Tin is soft as 24K gold. I don't know about any yellow metal apast from gold. You can use copper as well, but that's red. I like that though. Any alloy will become much harder than the pure metals, brass is really a hard one to inlay (not impossible though). I hope it helped. 🍻

@@kristofsom1822 Thank you very much for the information. I want to inlay yellow color on hard metal, but gold is very expensive in my country and I am a beginner, so if I can find a yellow color but soft mixture, I want to overcome my inexperience with it.
