It was just normal sewing thread I believe. It has been so long since I did this that I don't know for sure.

Looks good... I do have top say though... thre distributor is wrong. It should be at an angle top the right of the engine more of a 45° angle. Not sit straight up

the original issue kit was molded in orange plastic and had more chrome pieces and was more difficult to assemble because of that and the rough molding of the parts. one of the most difficult kits that i attempted in the sixties. i could not do it properly.

I really do hope you continue with the salt flats racer. I've seen so many street rod/rat rod versions of this car and it would be refreshing to see something different. Smooth work on that rear end, BTW.👍

You know if you’d bought the strope bronco you wouldn’t have had to do all the extra work in cutting out the rear fenders and adding the fender flares because the other one has them molded into the body already. Great looking bronco though

It is quite an accomplishment. I know 2 other builders who have tackled this kit and the concensus was similar to your own. They were glad to be done with it. I have considered it several times myself, and while my skillset is certainly up to it there are 2 items which are likely to bar me from it. 1: the price. Ouch.... 2: the time commitment. So I think Ill just live vicariously through you and them and admire it from afar. My display case and bench thank you for doing that which I myself fear to commit to.

Y ou should spray the pearl after you have your main body color. It will be a tricoat color. Also what is your mixing ratio when you are using that brand of paint? And what liquid do you use to reduce it? Plain water or something different?

Nice super clean build. I love this kit so much I bought 10 of them because they are really nice kits to do some kit bashing with and making completely custom trucks with Emm I built 1 stock one already and I built a completely custom promod drag truck it's crazzy wish I had time to make a video for KZread to show it off I covered the bed has a full custom hand built promod roll cage in it big long promod spoiler on back custom hand made dual parachutes hand made custom wheelie bars big promod hood scoop it's really really nice but it is a 1/24 1/25 scale slot drag build for slot car drag racing I run it on a true 1/24 scale 1/4 mile track and it's fast as heck I had it go 70.5 mph is the fastest it's been mph wise down the track. I love this kit so much cuse you can use hot rod parts and nascar kit parts to build some crazzy custom builds. I did a nascar truck out of it basically built it into what the NASCAR truck series would have looked like in the late 1960s to very early 70s if it existed. Lots of custom hand built parts from styrene rods and sheets by hand as well and it's amazing to won best in show and won the circle track class and best paint and best custom build in my cities model car show it's huge show with over 2200 models that got entered this year in it. Just so much cool stuff you can do with this kit like use the frame for a complete custom rat rod build I'm doing right now I'm using the frame and a few other parts from kit for it
