Ace's Adventures

Welcome to Ace's Adventures! On my channel you will see the remains of retail, dead malls, and information about the struggling
retail section of our economy, It is utterly important, the work that I am doing to document these places as they fall by the wayside to create a video library for future generations!

THey can repurpose this entire property into a huge medical complex with all specialties all in one place. Or put all the non profits all in one place.

I think the Mall started to die because many big businesses stated going under like Montgomery Wards, and Sears. Internet shopping certainly killed alot of malls

The two malls were completely different. Many people loved Sunrise Mall cause it was a family mall while Padre Staples Mall was not. If you didn't grow up in CC you don't know that. That opening statement upset me. Lol. I have GREAT memories there. It looks like that because it wasn't boarded up correctly by the owners right away. It is sad to see it this way.

I'm a hour away and was at the mall many of times.. You are still very far away from Mexico 😂.. However, definitely a closer then most. Maybe 4 / 5 more hours south.. If I were a billionaire I'd revamp it all !! Mostly restaurants, court yards , old school game room with updated games , and more stores that are still popular, Forever 21 , Bed bath and beyond ect. and so much more , maybe a huge NICE day care with all kinds of things for the kids to do. It's big enough to make it into something great.

great episode Ace...yeah my family and I are quite nostalgic for the past, we our families have seemingly grown up going to malls not only for shopping, but recreation, food, martial art schools, lifestyle services etc, very sad to see majority of them slowly or quickly in some cases, die out...many malls in Europe and Asia are still doing quite well (not all of them of course, because some of the malls like in the UK have fallen prey to the same forces as here)...I agree with many of your points on how to potentially save or resuscitate them and would also add - locate malls closer to transport centers, most people don't want to drive 40-50 miles one way to a mall these days...they must be more easily accessible; they have to focus on mixed use and not just retail (ie. medical/ dental offices, business offices, post office, library services, mix of great restaurants and not just mediocre chain stores, entertainment (stages for concerts), games, residential, schools, training centers etc. The days of depending on the major box retailers like Macy's, Sears and Nordstrom's are in the rear view mirror, as many larger retailers are becoming extinct as well; we have to innovate and think outside the box, as you implied in your videos....cheers

Some clarification for your synopsis. The "fatally wounded shoplifter" wasn't just some innocent teenage honor student. The reason he was shot and killed is because he shot the police officer in the jaw during his pursuit.

My boyfriend and I randomly happened upon this mall while we were in Pennsylvania looking for abandoned places, dying and dead malls. We just so happened to have stayed in Indiana for a night, and the next morning we learned about a mall that was right near our hotel. This was one of my favorite out of the four malls we visited while in the state.

You ain't missing much with the other side of the mall. During the beginning of COVID feds came in and converted it into a huge temporary space for vaccinations and testing. It was pretty much stripped clean and temporary walls were placed all throughout. It's basically a maze of hastily constructed halls and rooms to allow a large number of people to filter through while maintaining distance from each other. It's also used from time to time after hurricanes for emergency relief.

you seriously need to get your ego in check. you are not better than other creators in this community just because you have more subscribers or “better camera angles.” no. that’s not how it works. and you’ve said distasteful and disrespectful things to people and caused them to feel like the don’t belong in this community because of it. you and several others have made my boyfriend severely depressed. i know you’re married, how would you feel if someone was doing something that hurt your wife? not cool.

Memories! I used to go to this mall as a teen. Mostly for the arcade.. later on for the Sam Goody for the dbz vhs. The place also holds special events, I guess because it's not as crowded. Also started holding the Asian food festival in the parking lot. "CROSSROADS MALL"😊

I’ve been going to this mall ever since I was a kid. I worked in the housekeeping department there for a few years and saw so many changes and renovations and ideas to keep the mall going. It’s still a thriving spot with great stores and great pop up events. So awesome to have you visit this still gem of a mall!! San Antonio TX 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I was working for an after school childcare program in TN on 9/11. Something that I think of often is that when parents came to pick up their kids that afternoon, almost every one of them said they just wanted to hug their child. It affected so many people in so many different ways.

Wow. I left Syracuse in 1987, and haven't been back much since. In the 80s, much of what you see in this video was new, full of life. I even worked in a small furniture store on the first floor! They would send me to a weird "old" part of the mall where they had storage, I would sometimes assemble small pieces of furniture. From that storage area, I could hear the video games from the arcade - and one day I went exploring. The storage area I had access to was just walled off 8 feet high and the ceiling was 10 or prob 13 feet so I climbed over the wall and found myself in an abandoned TV news studio! I think it was WSYR but don't remember. From the studio I found a hallway that connected to an abandoned movie theater. I never ventured beyond that, not sure what else I would have found. Very surreal seeing this video!!

I'll never forget going to the dollar theater there with my brother in 2013. The only reason I'll never forget it wasn't because the movie was so good! We saw Epic it was a shitty animated film. But anyway, we ended up leaving early because neither of us were paying much attention. When we got back out to my truck, I noticed someone had broken my door lock and ransacked my belongings. lol Those bastards jacked my iPod Nano. They literally burnt out of the lot in a old Honda Civic and flicked us off as we opened my doors. 😂 Fuckers!!! 🖕

I grew up in the north end of Barberton very close to the mall. Our house would shake while they were blasting parts of the sandstone away to clear the land for construction. My father used to say that this mall is doomed to fail because of its location and he was eventually correct. If I remember correctly they entertained building this mall in Barberton close to Austin Estates but the residents fought against the mall. It was a fantastic mall when it first opened and provided me with my first couple of jobs(working at York Steakhouse and Gold Circle across the street from the mall. My Mom also worked at JCPenney). Unfortunately, as mentioned in the video, crime in the surrounding area and incidents in the mall(particularly the movie theater) are what ended the mall.
