It is a good pastel light look, but it is not 100% Midsommar more lik 70-80%. It has too much contrast, the darks are still too rich. And the colors pop in a different softer way in the movie. 3:02 is the most saturated part of the movie and if u indirectly compare it to 13:10 it is a strong difference. I guess you have to physically have the gear to recreate it fully.

I find this tool doesn't work on Resolve 18.6.6. I can load the DCTL into the node but no color options appear. Do I need some other enabling software?
@ElMeach9 сағат бұрын
I am using it on 18.6.6 build 7. On another tutorial I was instructed to create a folder named DCTL inside de LUTS folder and drag de DCTL there

@@ElMeach Thanks for the reply. I did (I thought) exactly as you said. I have since upgraded to the ver 19 beta DR studio. It worked fine there with no further action on my part. It will have to remain a mystery why it didn't work with ver 18.6.6 for me. The ver 19 beta is great, tons of new features and I haven't run into any bugs. I'm not going back.

How much RAM do you usually use for color grading? I'm thinking about buying Mac Studio M2 Max, is 32GB RAM enough for colorist, or is it worth paying extra for 64RAM?
@Gavin_Haughey_ColoristАй бұрын
32GB are fine most of the time but I would still go for at least 64GB. Just to be safe.

Mine is a chair called Bioswing by the German company Haider. They’re rather expensive but totally worth it for people that sit all day. I used to have cheaper chairs that were made for gamers in mind. But my lower back began hurting with those. I also use a standing desk now and try to alternate regularly.
