Thanks so much for the informative video on this common problem. My service technician quoted me $800 to change the flame rods and electrodes! can you please tell me where did you order the parts from? Want to make sure to get genuine replacement parts that will last for few years.

I have had this issue about every 3 months since install with no real solution. I have put in new rods and igniter and even changed the igniter control box and that seemed to help I thought since at the time of that replacement I was guessing that the ignitor wire was not making good connection to the ignition box but then it still kept happening this time was like 6 months later instead of 3 now it is about ever 3 months it beeps 11 and I take them out and clean them with 600 grit sandpaper making them clean again and then trouble free for a while and then it happens again every thing else seems fine and proper gas pressure and power so not sure but there has to be a better explaination than I currently have the water heat is great other than this every 3 months

Ensure you buy real Rinnai parts. I replaced a set with Chinese knock offs and it failed on me a few months later. You'll know it's Chinese if you find some that are much cheaper than the rest. No way around paying for this.

Very much appreciate your troubleshooting vid here Rob. So I followed your recommendations and procedure. While the electrodes appeared modestly 'coated' and I lightly sanded them, I'm not so sure that was my Code 11 issue. Also, the code 11 was intermittent. Prior to going through the procedure you recommended here, I powered the unit down and back on again and it ran fine. I switched from 140 down to 125 and it ran fine and then an 11 again. powered off, back on and bumped it back up to 140. Seem to run fine and damn hot water too! So unless you've got another thought on the 11 code, I guess I'll just watch it and if and when it comes up again, I'll switch out the electrodes for a new kit I'm ordering today per your referral link. Again, thx for the info Rob!
