Det är nästan hopplöst att söka på Commodore Pet 700 och få nån vettig information. Det man kan göra är att ta reda på vilken ursprunglig modell 700 är (jag vet inte säkert, men gissar en 8032 eller 8096) och sen använda det modellnumret för att få tag på information. Oftast står det ursprungliga modellnumret på märkplåten på baksidan av maskinen. Lycka till!

Could you allude to how to propagate the error to neighboring cells to reduce the global error as mentioned around 18:45 ? I’d be interested to read or watch more about this, or at least know what to search. Great video, I’ve been thinking about PETscii a lot lately!

So impossible to do 4x8 CHARS? I wonder if it is possible to make a custom CHAR ROM that you could run some simulations on to build the most useful set of CHARS that would contribute to real improvement to the Bitmapped emulation with "TEXT" Characters. Or some how modify so that the display can be set to read char data from some RAM address like the C64? I bet the easiest way would be to have another PiZERO2 emulate the CHAR ROM EPROM and be able to dynamically change the CHAR bitmaps. Heheheh!

Well, it's the cost of a Rpi Zero 2W (if you can get hold of one), the PCB (which you can have from me, I've got 9 spare) and the cost of components (I don't know, maybe $20-30 worth of components).

Remember that one April Fool's day where KZread had TEXTp as one of the quality options? That's the only quality level the PET supports, lol

I worked for a commodore dealer in the 1980s. When Commodore delivered our demo 8296 Iwas VERY disappointed in the speed and performance of the 'new' machine. I was hoping for a FAR faster 6502 and a better BASIC. Very disappointing. The Commodore 700/710/720 was a little better, but too little too late.

Are you characterizing the pixels in the order of appearance (leading to converting possibly the same pixel value repeatedly) or have you tried first just adding them to a unique array and using a replacement function to swap all occurrences simultaneously? I feel like it could be a vital improvement to the Pi's performance.

Well some nostalgia here, In 1980-90s era I was a Commodore Dealer here in Australia, their Offices at Lane Cove NSW, had a hallway like display, of all PET Models & Accessories, but I was there for Vic20's, C64, Amiga's which had 1 of each of Display, Looking back I wish I had of thought to take Photo's .. However I am Amazed by your work Thorbjörn Jemander, Pushing that silicon to near breaking point, If you need a Update to Vic20 System, I have some here, and Acc, they need a real home, where they are loved ..
