Is this still the first song like in the Australian version? I liked how they didn't introduce the phantom right away in the London version. It built anticipation. But when he appears right away it feels like, "Just in case you weren't sure if you came to see the sequel to POTO, there's the phantom. BAM."

One thing I’ve always hated about the new version is they don’t make the kiss long enough. During the west end version, the kiss was long and passionate and this version it only lasts a few seconds before she dies.

I wish they made Meg mad at the Madame Giry for giving her attention to the Phantom rather than having her mad at the Phantom to giving his attention to Christine. I mean think about it, Meg performing goes long before Love Never Dies but also the original show. And Madame Giry was so focused on keeping the Phantom hidden since he was a kid far before she has Meg. Meg’s entire life has been dedicated to performing, while the teacher being her own mother. And when Madame Giry got mad he invited Christine back during the timeline of Love Never Dies, it annoys Meg even more considering she’s hyper focused on someone else’s life rather than her own daughter’s. And the lyrics in the end, “Bathing beauty in the dark, on their laps, in their arms, in their beds.” Meg has been SA’ed, possibly even further, which unfortunately is very common for performers even in 2022 let alone the late 1800’s. Her story could have been representative to childhood stardom and abusive parents which comes with that but no we get another love triangle which has already done just the musical prior.

Honestly, I prefer more Australian version of LND rather than Sierra and Ramin(but im obsessed with them in POTO) just because the story is about the sequences after 10 years of their life so they got wiser and older thats why they act a bit serious or shy😅 like they’re not that young and hot and full of emotions, theyre stopped by their own fate. Specially, in the finale scene when Gustave came to his real father, Erik was worried and smashed, he had no idea what to do next, he’s upset with his love’s death and there was a son who ran away from him once. He was thinking and thinking while his little hope came to him and showed that he saw the beauty underneath

They are awesome actors but I'm not sure I like this version. In the Australian version Gustave actually runs up and sits next to his father and then Erik touches his head, while in this one Erik literally has to lean over to get to his child. Also I'm not so sure the kissing scene was as passionate in this version than in the Australian version. But everyone unto their own. Great actors I have no doubt.

I love this scene. Though I do prefer the kissing scene in the Australian with Anne and Ben. Here it is cute and passionate; but after Ben kisses her passionately, he kisses her hand and gazes into her eyes. That shows so much tenderness that you don't expect the Phantom to have. Thank you for posting this. Wish there was a scene of Grader carrying her to the chaise after she passes out from the shock of seeing the Phantom alive.
