    Watching this video brought back soooo many memories. I was there for all the blood, sweat, tears, prayers, pain & suffering. It was very surreal as his mom struggling to keep him alive, making sure he was well treated in the hospital, fighting against racism and bias against my son while trying to make sure his medical needs were met. And having to also take care of my other children who were still depending on me to provide for them too. It was a very lonely time and yet I had to be strong for everyone 😢. I really only had God to lean on for real support. I’m grateful for everyone who prayed and gave financially. But no one believed more than I did, that he would make it. I saw all the reasons the doctors said why he shouldn’t have made it. But I trusted what God told me! I’m grateful we had him for 8 additional years! 🙇🏽‍♀️🙇🏽‍♀️🙇🏽‍♀️🙇🏽‍♀️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

    Vowel teams, r controlled vowels, and digraphs come later in learning (towards the end of 1st grade). You just teach them the sound or sounds that they make.

  • @guest_5992
    @guest_5992Ай бұрын

    Make cards for those and teach those sounds first. Than teach word families with those sounds. Many children benefit from hands on. I use magnetic letter tiles that include those sounds. If you need more hand holding there are amazing programs like All About Reading.

    Use the flash cards to build the word. Have them touch each sounds as they say it. You can also use magnetic letters if you have them. Building the words they are having trouble with really helps.

    So, I'm sorry for the silly question. I'm a newbie! I watched your review on the Spectrum workbooks. Then watched this one. So do you tear out the workbook pages for their weekly binder or keep them all in tact in the workbook?

  • @thewordrules8703
    @thewordrules8703 Жыл бұрын

    I've used the TGTB and LLATL , and though both are good choices, I changed to the Spectrum grade 2 reading, lang arts, writing and spelling. It's been much better for our child with the wiggles who just wants the bare bones. These workbooks are straight and to the point, and with some additional literature reading, you can point out the things they are learning so as to reinforce concepts. The two aforementioned curricula are great and have worked well for my older child, now in grade 4. Both also do TGTB math and love it.
