Thank you Dan🤗
Thank you for the multiple demonstrations and use in a sentence. This was very helpful!
So if you’re saying I’m not working you’d sign working and shake your head?
Nice video, thanks, God bless you!
so confused because please and thank you look the same :,)
I got 3/5 right
I misread 13 as "Firespell please" like he was going to teach us a spell.
What about "Spring"?
Hello! Just like to say I love your videos and they are very helpful. Also, I’m not sure if you take requests or suggestions and it’s totally fine if you don’t but if you, would you be able to do some receptive BSL videos please? Like a playlist with multiple little short stories in BSL with maybe a translation at the end? Thanks for everything you do!
Hi Dan. Your video's are amazing. Would it be possible for you to do conversation sentences with every day words people use? Example: How to ask for a cup of tea with sugar and milk? Thank you x
So sus
I have learned asl and im challenging myself(and my friend) to learn a little bsl over the summer and lets just say bsl is very vague while asl tends to cut right to the bullshit
Keep up the good work! Really enjoying this channel x
I really love your videos, I'm trying to learn BSL at the moment. I'm a software developer but the only video I've seen on how to say software developer wasn't clear to me, is there any chance you could demonstrate it? I find your videos very useful in the way you show the signs exactly as they are and slow enough to really grasp. Thanks!
WAAAH the sign for 'language' is different than i'm use to, threw me off completely 😆 Thanks for the alphabet refresher.
I got them all 🫶🏻
Thank you for your amazing videos. They are so helpful. I did a starter course 10 years ago, but without regular practice, I forgot so much. I am in regular contact with deaf customers at work so I want to gain more language. I struggle with sentence structure as I always want to sign in the same order I speak. If I use signs but also speak at the same time (having a conversation with a deaf and a hearing person at the same time), I get in a muddle.
Have wanted to learn BSL for years, your videos finally got me started. Thank you for these brilliantly clear videos, fantastic work!
Best BSL channel ever!
Cool, that’s efficient
I had the power to make it 100 likes 👍 And I obviously did ❤
Thank you 🙏🏾
Ive used BSL for 30 years as both my parents are profoundly deaf and we’ve never used question words at the end. Is this a new thing?
Hey, I'm Janet Britishsignlanguage, inventor of BSL! Yes, it's a new thing, we only started doing it ten minutes ago! Please note that if you do not use question words at the end of sentences from here on out you _will_ be shot. Thank you, have a nice day!
Many native speakers of languages don’t know or were not taught formal linguistics structures of the language they speak. Because sign languages have not been formally taught on par with English ,as an example, explains this discrepancy. I meet CODAs everyday that don’t know simple rules of the language because their parents have not corrected them, but rather just focus on understanding them. However, the more linguistically accurate you sign the more native like you present. I’m not sure of the resources to learn BSL linguistics, but I imagine Dan may have some ideas.
i love Dan and love these videos but i am not a fan of the top knot
Thanks to you, I'm really getting the hang of it! I'm just hoping to be able to read fingerspelling (and signs in general) a bit quicker. Getting there, though!
Good luck 👍
One thing I would find helpful personally is a First Person look at these since mirrors flip things and I would like to know by looking at my own hands if I’m making a mistake more easily
Thank you for these refreshing reminders !!
I was taught a different sign for Australia, regional difference?
Yeah, possibly regional or perhaps signer preference. The other common sign for Australia is the middle finger and thumb touch (on both hands), then motion forward and release. The BSL SignBank is a great tool and for some signs, shows the distribution of signers using a particular variation. Here's a link to the entry for Australia showing both signs: bslsignbank.ucl.ac.uk/dictionary/words/Australia-1.html Thanks for watching 😊
@@CommandingHands yes that’s the sign our tutor gave us! Andy often gives us multiple options and asks us to pick one!
cool! thanks
I love this channel! ❤
Me and this man from work were watching you the other day on the big TV, complimenting you on your 'alluring' eyes 😉
Thank you for these useful phrases.
I started learning ASL before but it kinda fizzled out over time. Now that ur in my recommended it's a great chance to learn BSL instead.
For USA, could you just fingerspell the 3 letters
Yeah, fingerspelling the letters USA would be fine too.
@@CommandingHands thanks man
Shorts and more long form videos 😃😃 Dan you're the best ❤❤
You can take me to dinner anytime 😊😮🤫🤭
Hi canada here😊
Thank you for this! It's actually come in handy
This is really useful! I’m so glad this channel is back, I’ve learnt so much from your videos
Thank you for showing how to form sentences. Thanks Dan. I've always wanted to know how to connect words together

Nice
I just started following you. You are doing an amazing job, thank you! 💛
I love these quizzes so much! I'm still finding it tough to keep up, but these videos are good practice :)
Happy Saturday Dan, thank you as always. Blessings Susie 🙏🇬🇧
For us in ASL you are saying trouble skiing.. more the cross country type. Hahaha. Love your videos Dan. Makes me grin everyday.
Sheffield Derby Gloucester Norwich Newcastle....❤
Got the first three! But struggled with the last two at this speed. I need to practice some more :)
Hopefully Sheffield Derby Gloucester Norwich Newcastle
You've just informed me that I am very bad at putting together letters to know a word if it's just spelled out to me lmao
Answers below 👇👇👇 . . . 1. Sheffield 2. Derby 3. Gloucester 4. Norwich 5. Newcastle
I couldn't get Gloucester but I'm happy to have gotten 4 out of 5!
