How many people are "working for the weekend"? Well that's me for sure.
Join me on my adventures big and small - hiking, biking, paddle boarding and camping - mostly in the beautiful state of Victoria but sometimes further afield.
Many of my trips are solo and I'd love to help others gain the confidence, knowledge and skills to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and smart way, so they can experience the soul nourishing benefits of solitude in nature.
As a self confessed "gear junkie" I'll also provide reviews on what works for me (and what doesn't), including the journey from online research to field testing.

really nice and usefull video i'm getting prepare to do the kumano kodo and i luckily made the same stop that you( not the same hotel) . i wonder on the third day did you could take your time to visit the hongu taisha? did you make all the way from chikatsuyu to yunomine onsen by foot (as they estimate time 6 to 8 hour to make the chikatsuyu to hosshimon oji section and it seems you add the hongu plus the dainichi goe?
What time of year was this hike? Also, well done video!
Host Ranger,Sienna, at Munro Hut, is a fantastic poet, her true forte, who would have thought!
Thanks for documenting your pilgrimage. I did the exact same hike last March solo. Didn't get to take much photos and videos. This video allowed me to relive that most special 6 days in the mountains of Kii Pennsula! Words and videos are not enough to describe the experience. After a while, I feel like I was already part of the forest! I specially liked the animation tracing your route, distance and elevation at the beginning of your day. What app did you use for it? Thanks again! I'm planning my next pilgrimage, choosing between the camino or Shikoku88.
Well done! Beautiful views. Did you go through an agent? Would be nice to include some information, I.e. boat Shuttles, how to get out, etc. Thank you
Hi, there, I hope you are well. I saw that your KZread videos are very lovely and very helpful. You have enough of the videos but your video is not getting views because there is some problem with your videos .Title and Description are not SEO friendly .Your SEO score is very poor (0% out of 100)and you need optimization for better results. If you update the videos then the views of the video will increase. If you want you can discuss with me. Thanks
Can you please advise which month you did the 3 capes hike please?
Good video !
What month of the year did u do it
This was August. Beautiful all year round unless it's really hot.
Hello! We are currently editing a video to promote the upcoming paddle across the bay 2024 event & was wondering if you would be able to share some of your footage?
Diese Hiking-Tour hat mir unglaublich gut gefallen. Danke
Excellent just subscribed. Whats your favourite part of Gunbower Creek to paddle?
Simply gorgeous scenery my friend, this looks and sounds amazing!
Super interesting video ! Which month did you it (to have an idea of the weather at this period)? I go to Japan in may 2024 and plan to do it.
Thanks, we did it early April
is there any restroom?
Yes, plenty along the way
Mandy had a close call early stages there. Got to be careful in front of snag piles
Yeah. Lucky I'm with a great team.
Very lovely presentation!
Mandy that looks amazing. What an fabulous way to see this beautiful river. 3:43
I never realised you could do this with a paddle board! Does it help for shallow sections of the river?
It's not easy. I wouldn't recommend this for inexperienced paddlers. You need shorter fins than usual, as the long ones can easily get caught on rocks and throw you off. Rapids are also quite strong and push the board in directions you don't want to go. Lots of fun though!
Promo SM 🏃
I don't know what I'll do without these daily doses of amazing journeys around the world. Thank you for showing me a new place!
Thank you for sharing. How did you prepare physically?
We did strength and cardiovascular training at gym but also a lot of long, steep hikes. We are both over 50
I'll be doing this walk. Can I ask how long the walk is please? Thanks for sharing.
It is around 10kms
That's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.
Wow! This looks amazing fun
man i wish i could experience this
We have a river here in NJ that reminds of yours there in YARA. Thanks for posting this. I lead kayak excursions and this just inspired me to help more ppl get out of the river with SUPs! Thanks for sharing your day with us, so rad!
I enjoyed the video. Seemed to be very few people walking, I expected to see more walkers. It is something I hoped to do this year but work got in the way...hopefully next year.
Thanks. We were in peak season at the start of April but it was never crowded
Great video. I walked it 2 weeks ago and it was great to relieve it.
Thank you for introducing me to Japan. I wish you all the best of luck. Japan is always waiting for you. Good Luck!
Amazing ✨✨✨
Does the group do kayaks too? Only see boards in the vid.
Hi Steven. The group is for stand up paddle boards. Occasionally people do join us in kayaks though. Look up SUP Melbourne on Facebook.
Great clip Mandy
Great vid !! Thanks for sharing your adventure 😀
Thanks Rob! Can't wait to get back up there once flood waters recede.
Thanks for the video Mandy, I will now be doing this hike after watching this 😊
Great to hear. There are so many good ones there.
Perfect little weekender walk! 😊
The clarity of your footage is amazing. I loved how you were filming as you walked and showed the trails and scenery. I’ve done that walk, now I might need to get back out there.
00:11: 👍👍👍🌌 03:30: 🐸 04:40: 👀🛡🗿
Great story and video - thanks for sharing! This track is on my to-hike list.
Thanks. I want to go do the full scenic rim soon. The short circuit of link 1 and link 2 is also a good one.
Have you considered maybe a "+1 -2 (plus one minus two)"-style video? It's a little thing some channels around the world have done, sparked from the one between Not Just Bikes (urban design) and Shifter. I think there's been one in Queensland since. By the way, Canberra's new active travel plan is open to consultation
Such a beautiful part of Australia. Lovely video ❤️
Thanks Hayley. Remember when we went swimming there?
Nice :)
Nice video - Lerderderg gorge - I have a love / hate relationship with it :P Video quality is so sharp!!
Thanks! I know what you mean about the love-hate relationship.
Great video thanks Mandy,it does showcase how beautiful lerderderg is,it’s inspired me to go back there soon.

Love the video Mandy.
Thanks Tracy. Such a beautiful city. Very under rated.
Great video Mandy. Especially love the bicycle footage around the lake. Hayley ❤
Thanks Hayley. Such a beautiful place to cycle
Interesting colors in some of the fungi!
