Recently purchased a 2024 Mustang Mach E, but continue to follow you because I see an R1S in my future. I really loved it when we test drove it, so maybe 3-4 years I'll be ready to purchase!
Good news is they're now giving away a $15000 fuel card when you buy one PLUS Car is half off. Bad news is that hydrogen is 10X gas, So super expensive to run. Also , each filling station can only do about twenty cars per day. Once they're out you'll have to wait for them to refuel. One last glitch is sometimes the dispenser gets FROZEN In place and then you have to wait at least an hour for it to defrost.
Companies make their own fonts because licensing fonts is extremely expensive for commercial use and / or they want to have full control of UX interactions / kerning etc
We got a Volvo XC40 Recharge and I never use Carplay - everything I need is integrated in the Android OS.

I disagreed with some points you made but overall in agreement. How on earth could anyone be unhappy with a camera showing the lane you are about to change to? It's just another safety feature. Anyhow, I've had my R1T Lauch Edition, Quad motors for about 4 months now and I love it. I'm in Canada so we were a tad later than you guys. My one big complaint would be the driver assist which sucks except on North America's busiest highway, the 401 here in Ontario. Otherwise, it's basically a simple cruise control. Why doesn't Rivian use my camera info to update smaller highways etc? Love the R1T though, I'll have this little baby for 25 plus years because I know how to manage the battery. Thanks for the video.

Nice of Volvo to inform about issues instead just release the car with the missing features like VW ID3. Please cancel your recevation as your only have focus on the missing features at launch instead of Volvo’s focus on safety. The reason for the delay. Your focus on the issues with EX30 is not special in regards to all new cars can have multiple issues. ALL brands, new or old, have issues. Also ICE vehicles. Conclusion. I Think you should buy a Tesla or Rivian or F150 Lightning as they have better safety focus than Volvo… and no software issues.

Thanks for the demonstration. Native nacs definitely seems to be the way if you want to charge at Tesla. Can you imagine a 70 year old women fighting with that adapter. She would probably go straight back to gas.
They definitely need to work on ease of use for these adapters. I have heard from A2Z that they made big improvements in the updated version of their adapter and am hoping to test it out once available.

I own a 2024 Gen1 R1S. People complaining about the suspension are nitpicking. It's the best daily driver I've ever owned, even compared to the Cadillacs, Tahoes, Durangos, and Dodge vehicles I've had.

Are the local chargers here in Montreal not Rivian compatible? I am picking my R1S up on Tuesday. Forest green like yours.
Gen 1 , they just started delivering here. We reserved in 2021
Very nice and congratulations! We found some L2 chargers that worked but had really bad luck with the fast chargers around Montreal being damaged or unusable. It was never an emergency but I was surprised there wasn’t as much infrastructure as I expected.

Yes! I did drive by the offices and talked to them about visiting for a tour but because it was the weekend, there wasn’t much to see or show. Hopefully there will be an opportunity to showcase more of what they are doing in the future.

Are most of your long trips done in Conserve mode?
Yes, usually. We use it only for longer road trips though so that we aren’t doing too much uneven wear on the tires and rear motors. I don’t think it really makes a huge difference but there’s no real reason to use it on a daily basis.

It's interesting you mention how good the ride quality is, when so many reviews of the gen 2 say the ride was so horrible in the gen 1! I'm hoping to test drive a gen 2 this summer.
I really don't see what the complaints were about in the Gen 1. I hope to test out the Gen 2 and compare it to see, but I have no complaints at all about Gen 1 ride quality.

Rivian are crap. Period. Nobody needs an 8' tall grocery getter that can't haul/tow or handle real labor. Rivian owners are posers who need a minivan. Real truck folk, people who need actual work trucks, literally laugh out loud at those jokers. May as well be a cyber"truck", since the only reason to own one is to get people looking at you. It's sad to see people this thirsty for attention.
You are indeed underselling the refresh. You haven’t discussed the sub par ride quality that other non biased auto journalists complain about. That is probably the biggest update for the consumer. Gen2 R1S has substantially better ride quality. It’s not luxury level like the iX but it’s a lot better. Hopefully the increased ride quality grabs the attention of many who prefer ICE 3-row SUVs like the X7 and latest Range Rover. 90% or more of drivers don’t care for off-roading, they prefer a quiet cabin, a smooth ride, and overall comfortable ride. That is Gen1’s biggest weakness imo.
