This channel is dedicated to chronicling my progress as I try to go from total motorcycle noob to a more competent and confident rider. I will also mark my progress on using my motorcycle prosthetic to aid in my learning.
If you want to know what it's like to learn how to ride a motorcycle without a left hand and all the hijinks involved, follow me on my journey!

Regarding the seat, yes the stock seat is hard on your ass but they want a fortune for the after market ones. I might get my stock one re-upholstered with more padding.
Engine guards are a must. I bought my Rebel 1100 DCT in June of 2021 and at that time the only engine guards I could find were the T-Rex ones. I didn't really like the looks of them but as I said, they are a must. A couple months ago I hit a deer and without the guards, it would have taken my leg off. With the huge and gaudy T-Rex bars, only one side got bent back about a foot. The smaller ones like you have are good for protecting the lower part of the bike if you fall over but would they help if you hit something that was higher like a truck bumper? Now that I have experienced the protection of the T-Rex bars, I appreciate them, aesthetics aside.
If you can't pick up your own bike you shouldn't be riding.
Very exciting to see a fellow Rebel rider having fun with the different driver modes. I do a lot of inner city driving through downtown San Antonio so I keep it on Rain Mode. If I’m on the highway then I switch it to Standard mode. I’ve only had the bike for about 3 weeks, but I will try out Sport mode once I have my first service and about 1000 miles under my belt with this bike. So far, I love it.
Hey MostDefJeff, Can I Include your video in a compilation? You will be credited
The wooohooo you gave put as you rolled into sport mode!!!! That was Awesome!!!!!
Love the Link (The Legend of Zelda) sticker!
Hmm, I thought there was only sport mode.
Just bought my 1100 DCT! The dealer and a lot of people said to start out in rain mode because the power of the bike is more than you expect. Drove in rain mode for 1 day and swapped to standard. Im a newer rider slowly building up experience to get on a highway. I think I will be in the same boat as you and maybe not use sport mode for the first 6 months to a year. I could feel the difference between Rain and Standard but it didnt feel super drastic. Looking forward to more rides and Sport mode on some winding back roads! Thanks for showing your experience! Channels/videos like yours have helped me know this bike in and out before i even hopped on. From the first ride it felt like I've driven the bike before. Thanks you!
The seat pushes you forward. Does it also raise you up at least a few inches?
just came across your video how do you ride your bike ?
Since day 1 (It has been set like this since I drove it off the lot) Sport mode - High Traction Control - Low Engine Brake - High I've never tried it any other way.
Corbin is a better seat, but is double the price, not worth it. $737 vs $380 (shipping and tax )
Just picked up my 1100T Saturday Great video, very informative PS, cute snile!! 😉 Hello from Texas!!
Sport mode is best on the hyway, is not good idea on parking lot, the throttle is two twichi. Normal mode is best for cruise.
Yeah beautiful bike but in sport mode the throttle is to twitchy… I prefer the standard mode… ride safe and cheers from Germany
In most countries learners are restricted to lower powered machines
Beautiful Bikes like your voice. I wonder the attachment on the left grip. It looks like a cup holder. (probably not ;) )
What is that thing on the left grip?
Looks like a really nice riding area, where is this ?
Anyone has a link for the item? TIA!!
I just watch all of your videos.
Excelente video. Un saludo. Thanks.
Awesome video. I just got a 2022 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT absolutely love it But the stock seat sucks big time is like a rock 🪨 20 minutes and I’m done
What bags did you decide to put on?
HI, can have the links you purchase the seat Honda Rebel 1100, thank you
Hi! I will add the link below, but in essence I went to the Mustang website and searched for my specific bike. It's been great so far, and I think you can even get a passenger seat too. www.mustangseats.com/products/6897/tripper-solo-passenger-seat-for-honda-21-22-rebel-1100
Nice ride!
Thanks! It was a beautiful day for a ride
Sorry to hear about your car accident! I also had a crappy 2023 with TWO major accidents. The first one in February totaled my Honda Pilot and the second one in October totaled my new Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (and almost ended me in the process). It takes time to heal physically and emotionally from those incidents. I still haven't gotten back into riding (regularly) yet because of continued neck and back pain from the last accident. I'm itching to get out and ride... my head is in the game, but my body isn't ready for the abuse yet. Good luck with your continued recovery, and I hope you're out riding again soon. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I'm really sorry to hear about that. One accident is enough, but two is just terrible. I can certainly relate to the mental healing side of this process; it's hard not to be paranoid at every intersection or bend in the road. I hope you recover enough to get back out there soon!
Hi, I enjoyed watching your video, It was a nice smooth ride, take care, and ride safe.
Thank you! I hope to go on more rides this spring. I'll be releasing more no commentary rides until I can get a handle on life again and make more purposeful videos. But it is really nice to just get out there. I hope you're also enjoying the weather and the ride.
HI! Looking forward to your stories.
Glad you like them! I will hopefully be releasing a couple more soon, then maybe with more regularity in the future. Until then, enjoy your rides for me!
Hi! Great to see you again!
Thanks! I'll be out there more this spring and hopefully take advantage of cherry blossom season again.
I'm on user full power, traction lowest and EB middle
I love my 2024 1100 rebel! Enjoy life ! And god bless you🙏
It's such a good bike, and a great one to adapt to whatever skill level, environment, and even mood (I put mine on Rain mode if I want to really take it easy). Stay safe on it! I would say enjoy the bike, but since you got an 1100, I already know you are 😝
Somebody stated below the Mustang was better than the Corbin "in all ways possible". Well, there are many ways! How about side support? Corbin:1 Mustang:0 Ability to move? Corbin:2 Mustang:0 More room for legs and arms? Corbin: 3 Mustang:0 Real leather options? Corbin:4 Mustang: 0 Added foam and seat hight? Corbin:5 Mustang: 0 My list here is of cause no balanced rewiev but simply the other side of the coin wich also deserves to be noted.
Thank you for sharing the other side of the debate. I know there's been a (friendly) war over which one is better, and not having a Corbin myself, I certainly wouldn't be able to speak to that side. I will say one thing I really liked about Corbin and would one day like to look into is the option for a heated seat. That could really have come in handy while I was riding around in Colorado winters.
The original seat ! Suck! Your ass be hurting 😂😂😂 after 30mins 😂😂😂😂😂 I know! I got a 2024 1100
Agreed! Anything is better than the stock seat. I have a Mustang myself but heard that Corbin is even better. Have you looked into either one? If so, I'd love to know your take. But yes, either will be better than stock. That's one thing I don't like about the 1100, but everything else about it is amazing (imo).
I picked up my new Rebel today. I had a 60 mile ride home. My butt was sore after the ride. The stock seat feels like a brick. I will be looking for a replacement immediately.
I've heard Mustangs and Corbins are the top contenders. If you got a new seat, which one did you get? I will say I've heard that either one is much, much better than stock (as I can personally attest to after getting the Mustang seat).
Those roads have the same feel as the ones down here. But you probably passed more traffic in those 11 minutes than I passed in the hour long ride video I posted in the fall. I would only see that much traffic in the city. An all that growth up to the edge of the road, hiding cars trying to pull out. That would not fly here. Minimum I see here is around 10 feet cleared from the side of the road. More if the speed limit is over 45mph.
It sounds like you have much safer roads where you are, and probably a more relaxing ride! I'm glad things are starting warm up, which means more chances to hit the open road.
Nice ride - that road is a lot of fun to ride!
Agreed! I can't wait to get back on the road and through that route. In the meantime, enjoy your rides for me!
Very proud of you for taking your time to unlock the potential of that bike. Stay safe and keep riding your ride ❤
I'm sorry, but what kind of prosthetic were you using ?
I had the socket custom made from the Hanger Clinic, then the prosthetic piece is from Mert, which specializes in motorcycle prosthetics. I included the link below if you want to check it out. mcopro.com/prosthetics/technology/mert-lawwill-device/
@@mostdefjeff_ Thank you so much for that!
Can't wait to see how excited you get when you get over 50 mph.... lol
Lol...me too. I haven't been out on the bigger highways in a while, but when I am, I know I can keep up with traffic in Sport mode 😝
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make this.
We have two of them and we loved them!!!! they are really the best.
Hi, also a total noob who has only taken the motorcycle safety course and I’m looking at this bike as my first bike. I’m curious how tall you are? I’m 5’6” and wondering if I might have these same issues.
I'm 5'4" and this bike is perfect for my height. I think at 5'6", you have more choices if you want a bike where you can still flatfoot. The handlebars are of course another issue, but it's still manageable on the Rebel.
Kool videos😊
Thanks 😁
so strange seeing riders ride the same roads i ride
Lol then I'm sure we've passed each other from time to time 🏍
👍😀
So are you out for a second ride??? Or just remembering the ride! Do another ride!
I lived in Groton, Mass. for a while as a child (grades 4 to 7) - my childhood was uniformly punishing and generally atrocious in all the places I lived in, but I remember in Mass. I at least had the respite of being able to go out into the woods and enjoy the nature of New England. Maryland isn't too far from there, and this kind of reminds me of NE and how beautiful it was. Im even eyeing New Hampshire as a possible retirement destination; if I could afford it I'd go back in a heartbeat. And ride all around there in whatever 2wheeler I could bring with me LOL. Love the serene ride through the countryside, thank you!
